    Nice video Orlando. On the garage door trim protector the manufacturer should put some writting on it maybe in bright yellow saying
    PLEASE REMOVE PROTECTIVE COVER AFTER INSTALL.
    Keep the videos coming.

      i've often wondered why the protection on garage doors is not full length as the ends are just as likely to get damaged as the middle.

      That’s the life expectancy of any building. That’s why we’ve been knocking down schools built back in the 70s and 80s. If you look at your building materials they will have around 25 years on them.

      Unfortunately nobody wants to do trades anymore. It's not as competitive as it used to be, so the bad guys are getting jobs.
      Everybody is doing university instead. It's a waste for most people, honestly. My advice for all young people is to learn a trade rather than do university. And I'm saying that as somebody who went to university.

    As a mastic man of 25 years I've seen it all. Year ends especially bad. Reason mastic is probably missed to the door case is the main contractor will only pay for the basics doing. As you are probably aware , house builders put far too much pressure on site management who then pass it on to contractors. Greed as over taken . I always advise people against buying a new build.

    • @TalesOfWar

      Most of them probably have a quota to meet from head office, and if they don't meet it they don't get paid. Kind of how a lot of delivery drivers are paid per package or telecoms engineers are paid per job. So they'll rush it to get more done. Proper workers rights and proper pay structures will help a lot of the cowboy mentality we have in so many industries these days in this country. The gig economy is bad for everyone at the end of the day.

  • @tallblokesam

    100% agree with the comments about interior quality.
    It's very odd that we're all slightly obsessed with statistics and figures that are meaningless in the real world.
    As we commute in city rush hour traffic none of it really matters.
    Surely how things look and feel (and even smell?) are more important.
    Ride comfort also seems to have been largely forgotten, so many modern cars seem to have excessively firm and 'sporty' setups with big wheels. We want more waft!!

      @Ridgecraft Год назад

      @@stevehallam6495 working for big PLC companies, you don't have control over what contactors are used. They are brought in by another department, so unfortunately for a lot of site managers you work with the contactors you are provided with by the big house builders commercial department. Also commercial departments wil more often than not use the cheapest quote from contactors.

    • @stevehallam6495
      @stevehallam6495 Год назад +1

      @@Ridgecraft you have to feed back to the contract manager why your houses are a poor standard and what you would like to do about it. If you have done that then the responsibility moves up to the contracts manager. They then have zero grounds to discipline you. Any sacking would certainly be unlawful under these circumstances.
