Torture Test Magazine is an e-magazine which documents, in fine detail, the stories of bikes subjected to a real-world reliability test known as "the torture test." In the magazine, the torture test is conducted on a bike until it mechanically fails so badly that it can no longer run. Why? Because bike reviews based on a few hours of test riding are not satisfying enough. We want to know exactly how reliable a bike is, and how it will eventually fail. Simply put, Torture Test Magazine brings you the world's most detailed reliability and cost of ownership reviews for motorcycles.

Had a 92' XR600R that I rode off of a ledge, I bailed but bike took the leap. Took me bout 10mins to climb down to bike where it was still idling on it's side with left side planted into ground holding clutch lever in. Bulletproof to say the least.
legend has it, if no one is around to hear an xr run out of fuel... It will keep running for eternity.
Especially the dirt bike/ and dual sport guys will go out their way to help out. Not to say Harley guys or crotch rocket guys don't help out.. It just seems like dirt guys are a tighter group
@@gittyupalice96 dirt and dual guys are more helpful because we’ve got more miles walking back to civilization
Excellent work on the video! That was an immensely fun little shred... Sorry to slow you down hahah
Thanks! That was a very good ride. Very fulfilling.
You guys make awesome videos together!
That has to be the best sounding XR I've ever heard.
The opening comments made me think these guys know what they’re talking about but carrie on watching in a leisurely manner. THEN the XR glides round front wheel up in the sand & in slo-mo...now I know it’s going to be good so pause, scotch with one piece of ice, headphones in. I’m going to enjoy this video 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Member when Honda made an air cooled off road bike that ran forever and had decent suspension? I member
I memby.
Ya I memby
Memba chewbacka?
I have an old 1991 dr350 and although that thing is a pain in the ass to start....it will never die, old bikes are the best!
Yeah, we might get lots of opportunities to play with super nice bikes and all... but catch us on a "day off" and we'll be out there hammering down on some old tank bike!
Torture Test Magazine was this out by Logandale area or was that in southern Utah? Looks like a fun spot, and I'm in Vegas.
Oh ya, I'm a die hard two wheeler, I wouldn't take a sxs up there.
Amen dude, amen
What light setup is that on the xr? Looks like a black stocker with an led setup?
Should really do in depth review on the DRZ400, best selling bike here in AU i believe.
It would be interesting to hear what makes them so successful from your POV as well as a comparison to other bikes.
Kinda want one for a runabout bike and one i can ride to those further away trails without having to load up a bike. My KDX is plateable for the road, but it isnt ideal for any extended period of time
Sorry if you have already done this, i cant find it😂
@@GeneralNOH I agree.. And I'd like to see him on a DRZ400, I think he'd really do damage with that particular bike in his endurance racing.
I just found an 02 xr400 already set up with E start and light kit. Going to look at it this weekend! I don’t care if there’s snow on the ground!
How come this channel was never recommended before?! The last review on the kdx was great and now I’m watching all these.
Stumbled upon your channel a few days ago... Love the quality content 🤘
Dude, your XR250R is so fresh it’s insane
Holy cow this reminds me of how much I miss riding Warner Valley/Sand Hollow...
I know it’s super old and you don’t live there anymore but you should make more videos with Tyler. You guys are both awesome.
I've been wanting to! It's hard for either of us to get the time to just go for a ride just for fun.

I Had a 99 white xr250r with a white brothers exhaust. IT was absolutly Bullet proof and sounded great. Miss that bike!
You sir, are a beast! Awesome video... I hope there is more like this coming :)
Techy trail bikes, sport bikes, etc. will come and go, but there MUST be a bomb-proof, do anything, beast in my garage for me to be content.
Mine was a old dr 250. Damn thing smoked so bad, ticked even worse, but it would not die, and never let me down. First bike I ever learned to do wheelies on lol.
Rad !! Excellent riding!
I’ve been riding my ‘98 XR400 since 2007. Love that bike.
Would you be interested in reviewing it? I’m in the St. George area.
Those were great bikes! Everyone I knew that had one rode it hard but never had any problems with them
Did I just see an Everide? I did! I did see an Everide! HI Everide!
Hi!
Thanks for the inspiring video. I have to xr250 s. 1991 and 1998, I love them. Kind of hard to find good places near Seattle to ride them though.
Where was this filmed so i can ride there ?
I had a 95 xr600,it weighed the same as the dr350 the dr suspension started to fade when it was flat out it was a road model, where the xr could take anything you throw at it,had a tt600r,much nicer riding position over the xr,better gutsy power,it wheelied better than the xr for me even though its heavier than the xr.theres only the sx525 that has what i want,no balance shaft stealing power for friendly powerl, more agricultural like a tt500 with more revs in a better bike
Hey man, I definitely think you have the makings of a rally racer. I did Sonora Rally last year on my old DRZ400 so I'm speaking from that experience. Let me know if you'd like to meet up to ride. That sandy terrain (Utah?) looks like a lot of fun. There are some serious rally people out that way so it would be worth making some routes and bringing the bikes out for a ride.
Totally cool! Dude you're an awesome rider and I love your torture tests! I'm gonna watch some video of me at 4x speed and pretend I can ride like that!
You take an xr400 with the right mods done to it and you'll have a best friend forever. 01 xr400 stage 1 came, xrsonly muffler, and pumper carb and open the air box up alil and shes a whole nother animal. Not to mention the shitload of other things I've done 😂
Can you guys reveal where that big sandy area you were riding at the end is? I want to ride St George so bad!!
I would love to see a DR650 tortured... i cant immagine what will fail on that bike when slightly upgraded (handlebar, carb, exhaust, all the small things that are known to be lethal prevented)
What the brand of that DRZ Light bar? Looks insane! (Wanna swap my XR250R Baja big eyes to something like that)
love the honda,i have a 1996 (boxy frame)with electric start,great bike
Had a 1992 DR350 for a while only issues where the mods and aftermarket parts put in by the previous owner. Now if got a XR650 and miss my older bikes that actually had… dare I say it personality and weeny copy and pasted
Loved the short vid. I’m thinking a video opening with a head on fly by just above head level might look great.
That would be cool!
I'm going to dream about that track for days. Be careful of those back of the dune drop offs, I've seen one or two serious injuries.
My 1984 xr200 snapped the crank right in half just riding normally.
Awesome video, keep them coming!
I found and bought a 1995 xr250r and I'm keeping it forever
Where was this filmed? That is a bucket list riding destination for sure.
Warner Valley found it. I see on the map there is a location called long valley recreation, is that a good place to stage out of? It's about 370 miles from my So Ca location.
Great channel
Ride the snake! Super sick shred, dude! Great edit 🤘🏼
Till Death Dual Us Sport
Where was this video filmed?
What a great place for riding in the dirt!
Thanks
Wow that was fun to watch!
U make good dirt bike vids bro and honda cake out with the new crf250f and this thing is no joke. Its fast
Everide in someone else's vid? Blows my mind! Nice job.
frickin jims frickin adventures
Great video. Where did you get your headlight that's on your DRZ?
Where is this?!!!!!! That looks so awesome dude!
Now if you can find a Yamaha wr450f to try out.
Simply beautiful.
Brilliant just brilliant 👍
Xr400 please
BRAAAP!!
That was awesome ✌
Thanks! You are awesome!

I loved the video Jim :)
What a playground !
Ha nice intro...I doubt any "emp" strike could take either of those bikes out!
There's an 03' KDX 200 on Craig's list Mesa Az...
How's it going? I'm up near Sedona. I used to have a kdx 200 and loved it. It was a mountain goat on the hills. Great 2 stroke but with low end grunt.
the year is 2402. Nuclear war ravaged the earrth over a hundred years ago. The only viable mode of transportation is mid 1990s japanese dirt bikes.
I keep wanting to sell my xr400 but I can never bring myself to do it.
Great vid mate I luv my 91 xr600 had to work real hard to kill it but rebuilt it 3times bigger n badder still got it best bike ever .keep em pinned man yeehaa
Ahh crap I just sold a 96 xr250 for $500 because valves needed doing and a spark plug thread 😦😧😢
I wish we had more XR's around here for sale, and I wish the DRZ was lighter. It's a pig for a more dirt oriented dual sport.
BaronBoar, I have a ‘99 XR250R that I bought new, 19 years ago, and it’s still running strong. Great bikes, I think most people are hanging on to them.
@@trevorjameson3213 I have a KDX220R which I like but sometimes it can be a lot of power for me to handle. I learned how to ride on a 4 stroke, and personally I prefer the power style of a 4 stroke, that low speed torque, and tractor factor. But all these new dirt bikes are liquid cooled, require more maintenance, and cost a heck of a lot more. You can almost buy a brand new dr650 or yamaha XT250 as you can a few years used plated ktm or husky or beta. It's ridiculous. All these people with small dick syndrome is pushing the companies to make faster and faster bikes with all this fancy Tech, when guys like me don't give a hoot and just want a reliable thumper.
BaronBoar I almost went with a DRZ E. I hear the XR IS about 40 or 50 lbs. lighter.
@@brettkovak6344 well if you are really lucky if you live in Utah or other states that allow the conversion of off-road road vehicles to street legal. Here in BC Canada that is not possible or else I would buy an xr400 and street legal it.
Lads there less than 10nfor sale in the uk right now and they want 2500 minimum for one I'm going to wait out and buy a pearler
Xr 250 r still good in 2022?
Well then, after the 6 hour race you proved make more damage than the Little Boy Bomb. You killed the xr.
Go flannel go!
Why can I chose my price for the Kdx200 magazine?
It's because not everyone can afford it. Like some teen kids would like to buy it but cant afford anything over 5 bucks. And then their are some people that make a decent amount of money and really want to support the channel, they can pay extra. So anybody really could buy it is why!
may i ask why you changed your channel name?
Because I self publish a magazine now called Torture Test Magazine
Long live the pigs
This video ALMOST got me motivated to go put my xr400 back together... almost
I will probably go put the grip studs on the tires of the husqvarna fx350 as well as the elephant ears and an oil change
Thanks!!!!
Where is your XR?
Have you ever taken a look at the "Maintenance Schedules" on these bikes in the user manuals? You have to laugh at the obscure things you are supposed to do regularly, that no one actually does. and yet they plow right on.
The last bike running through the apocalypse will probably be a KLR. lol
Nah, you need water for those. It will be a XR650L =D
And "Frodo" with girlfriend on a XT 225! Ha ha! (deep Impact)
Please sell your amazing riding gear "canadian lumberjack style" !
at 52 secons of that music im fucking out of here
I want motocross machine kk
Exhaust tape? Yea you guys are torturing them
My dr200 could take a beating all day!!!
Wet
72nd
Just because you can’t be arsed to clean them doesn’t make them bombproof. They wouldn’t pull the skin of a rice pudding I prefer my 450 never looked back since had my first crf in 2003 . These are heavy old junk no offence.
People buy these old tech bikes so they can ride around the world without touching the top end, try that on a high strung 450
That's a carefully layered protective coating!
Wow man a $9000 450 is faster than a 20 year old 250cc bike 😱😱😱!!! I can’t believe it!!!!!!!
Heavy old junk they will go a lot longer than whatever you’re on budddy
Hideous “music” ruined what could have been a fantastic video here. It would have been much better to have just stuck with the sounds of the bike. Always remember what you want to support, and what you
should minimize in a video. The first “music” clip is so out of TIME that it distracts from the visuals, and the second “music” clip is so out of TUNE that it distracts from the visuals... Footage shot by EveRide deserves better music, or NONE. Keep trying, and best of luck!
Thanks for the critique! There's actually a mute button on the RUclips player that would produce the desired effect. The point and shoot cameras don't record any audio at 60/120p and the drone has no audio either so other than the short helmet cam bits it is an entirely silent video.
Torture Test Magazine ... And then the talking would be muted, now, wouldn’t it? And I shouldn’t have to do that, now, should I? After 6+ years on RUclips, you should have more subscribers than 10K. An extra effort toward quality-control can help that. And speaking to the audio capabilities and placements of the various cameras used, considering the effort you put forth with the editing-in of (bad) “music”, you could have just as easily edited in closer-proximity audio of the bike, or later voice-overs (or better music - it’s out there, although I prefer none, even though I’m a full time musician and audio/studio professional)... Incidentally, yeah, it’s what I do for a living, so trust me, it’s easy. You can do it...
No argument there, good sir! All great critique and I'm happy to receive it for free. Sorry you didn't like the video. Let me know a paypal address so I can refund you the $0 you paid to watch this video.
Steve Hacker wow you’re the biggest ass out here, maybe you think you know a lot about making RUclips videos, but you coulda just left it as I didn’t like the music so much. No, instead you decided to be incredibly rude not only to a very smart and talented person, but also to someone who has served for your country. What’s wrong with you? Show some respect
Hard to believe anyone that rides would whine over something so petty . Music is fine . Carry on, TTM !, .
Idk if you should compare Japanese bikes with nuclear bombs hahah considering we destroyed them woth nuclear bombs
