I have been passionately cooking ‘“curries” for over 35 years and yet I find your recipes and delivery invigorating, refreshing and very satisfying…long may you prosper.
I love bean curries, especially mung beans, I think they are very underappreciated here in the UK. I think people are nervous about beans but prepared by soaking and changing the water as you show prevents any digestive problems that they have a reputation for, and dried beans are very cheap these days and can have some lovely flavour and texture. I'm going to try this recipe out at the earliest opportunity!
Ian Rolfe said everything I wanted to say but I'm still worried about how to serve. You mentioned toast with the derivative version with egg. Original in a bowl with flat bread perhaps? It seems too small textured for rice? Help, Bumbi!
You can serve it with roti/paratha/naan/poori/toast. I even like it with rice. Please do check out the ingredient details in the description box below the video.
Namaste Bumbi Bo and family. Happy weekend in 🇺🇸. Your 🐓 sag was sublime and Mrs Colin says you would good money for that take a way!!! Friday night curry gets no better than that 😋 (or does it)?…..❤ Colin 🇮🇳🏴🐾
Just made it this morning and turned out delicious! I omitted the (hot) green chili. Instead, added to the pressure cooker a whole green pepper (deseeded) with a large shallot inside it. Blended these and added them to the beans. At the end I added a few pieces of pumpkin, which I boiled separately. Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻, Bumbi, for another great recipe. The pinto beans made the dish so special!
This turned out very nicely! The only substitution I made was to use 1/4 cup of home grown soldier beans (dry white beans) instead of the pinto. I will try the leftovers with an egg. Thank you for teaching us these beautiful, healthy and satisfying recipes.
Thanks again Bumbi This is how I make my moong yet I’ve never done Tarka- or added other lentils to it.. I’ll try this your way. I’ll discard last step I’m a vegetarian Making this tomorrow Yepee
This is a great and very healthy recipe. I really like that it includes both lentils and beans. I know we will love this. Hi beautiful Bo 😍🐾Another wonderful recipe to try. Thank you ❤xxx
I cooked this dish yesterday and it turned out delicious. Thank you I now have another staple dish to enjoy . I shared some with my neighbor whose from Romania and she said it was perfect and gave some to her 15 month baby who ate it 😊
Just stumbled on your channel. I have gone through a few recipes and love what I read. I will be trying the moong recipe tomorrow. Thank you and God bless
Tried out this recipe today ma'am, it was just awesome, served it with roasted cauliflower pepper fry, simply delicious. Just love the recipes. Will try the meat dishes soon. It's going to be black beans tomorrow. Had to try that out as my family loves black dal!! Thanks once again
Lovely dal tadka Bumbi. Could you tell me that if we pressure cook the dal in a normal cooker till how many whistles should we cook it? Thanks for showing Bo .🐾 Have a lovely weekend 🌸
Hi Veena, actually I had been always following time even when cooking in regular pressure cooker, but I asked my aunt and she said 3 whistles should be fine. Since there is rajma there, follow the same number of whistles as when you cook rajma. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
Thank you. Nice recipe. No egg though for me. Thank you for showing Bo. Please share him more often. Please give him some roti with a touch of your wonderful curries.
Quite the calmest, humblest, most authentic food presentation I’ve yet seen on a RUclips cooking channel Not even a whiff of Vitamin Me. Perfect. I made this yesterday having found we had every ingredient in the cupboard. What joy. Turned out to be one of the most delicious curries I’ve tasted. I love the way Bumbi explains how you build flavour as you go. I followed her instructions faithfully (except the part where you don’t nearly slice the top of your pinkie off when chopping ginger!😢) Just one tiny typo spotted in the recipe - two large tomatoes weigh far more than 25g, but I can forgive Bumbi anything and I’ve hit the subscribe button.
You are the best curry chef on the Internet by far. You explain everything perfectly. I'm currently soaking some moong beans. I will be making your recipe tomorrow.
The dog is the best part! I would skip the butter, ghee or egg to keep it vegan. I have a bunch of mung beans and will give this recipe a try! Thank you, Bumbi
I found your recipe for green moong bean curry this morning, and will cook it later today. Looking forward to it! Much love from Bonnie Scotland 🕊🏴
@@CurriesWithBumbi, I am just in the middle of eating the moong bean curry! .....it is such a delicious and well balanced curry, and it is easy to make by following your amazing instructional video! Many thanks and blessings to you 🙏🏻
Thank you so very much for this recipe Bumbi. I have never cooked the Green Moon beans, but recently bought some to try, and today I watched your video, so I will make this Delicious-looking recipe soon! Thank you from Canada!❤
I really love your recepies. Every week I try one new. And you can also vary it, if you don't have the exact lentils, you can use a different variety. Your secret lies in the preparation of the spices
Thank you so much Bumbi for another magnificent recipe. Could just give you a big hug that you are dealing with pressure cooking in real time minutes and not this antiquated whistles, which is so frustrating to me. Just bought some of these beans.❤🥰👌👏
Hope you've had a great day Bumbi. Wow this recipe is amazing ⭐I just knew we would love it. (recipe 126) I substituted roasted, skinned and deseeded red bell pepper for the tomato and it worked amazingly well. I really wanted to make this recipe and just cannot eat tomatoes of any kind at the moment. Even the smallest amount. It went perfectly with your Masala Coated Fried Okra & Potatoes, Soft Roti, basmati rice and salad. The meal had a real restaurant taste to it. Absolutely delicious thank you 😋 Have a great weekend. Take care ❤xxx
Thank you for the variation at the end. Your voice is so relaxing and your explanations are easy to follow. I am waiting more recipes for diabetics people like me.
Very nice job. I like the fact that you use purple onion in most of your recipes because it's more sweet and that you cook them off instead of adding them fresh at the end which would give a bad consistency. Also, pretty puppy.
Just made this recipe. Followed it to the tee. However, I didnt have chana dal and pinto beans and used yellow split peas and butter beans instead. Tastes absolutely divine. Thank you
Just like your biryani recipe, this seems to be another perfect dish from you. I will try this soon. Will let you know how it turned out. Thanks and regards!
I love all of your videos. Whenever I tried Indian cooking, my German Shepherd dogs would be sitting at my feet waiting for me to give them some. They loved curry of any kind. Thanks.
Another one for the list Bumbi😋. Tried your mixed bean curry/dhal last week Bumbi and made enough to freeze some leftovers which my 11 year old granddaughter had with king prawns and chapatis when she came to stay on the weekend. She asked where I got the recipe from and I showed her your video and she loved it. You’ve got another fan now! She adores dogs so I’m going to show her the latest addition of Bo so she’ll be wanting to move in with you!!😂 Lot’s of love to you all!❤️
You can make a delicious salad with soaked/sprouted mung beans , sprouted black chana finely chopped cucumbers, onions and green chillies and add loads of lime juice . The trick is to rub the lime juice in the lentils. It tastes just out if this world .
I am currently an Indian student in Canada who just started cooking for himself and your videos are a lifesaver.
I am so glad that my videos are helping you. Take care.
