A couple of extra things from me:
    - During editing I realised Mariner's flashback wasn't as detailed as I remembered. It's still a trip to DS9 though, even if we only see a fraction of a pylon!
    - Favourite joke of the week: Nothing in particular stood out, although I did enjoy Shaxs and Kira's back and forth life debt stuff. Reminsent of Kira's scenes with her old resistance friends, but also reminded me of Archer and Shran's dynamic.
    - I hope this episode helps introduce people to DS9. I'm probably just a grumpy old cynic, but I hope we don't get a full on revival show. We don't need one as the story was complete, and we have Picard as evidence that revisiting past glories isn't a great idea. Let's move on and create new heroes for a new generation.

it was a great episode. when the DS9 music first played and that wormhole opened up. I got....ahem, giddy.
    great review.

This ep was a loving tribute to DS9 while still having its opportunity to crack a joke at it at the sametime... it knew when to hold back and let a beautiful or organic moment from DS9 happen. It honored my fave Trek show very well.

I could of sworn their planet, or at least one of their planets was decimated by the dominion, or am I miss remembering that?

Unless there's something in beta canon I don't think so. They were part of the Dominion, their version of the Ferengi.

@@treklad I am remembering an episode where the dominion destroyed one of their sub-races or at least one of the planets of said sub-race because they were dealing too much with those outside the dominion.

I forget if you reviewed Kenobi. I liked it. And I'm one of those "YES, EWAN MCGREGOR." I joke that as a Trekkie, I wasn't as concerned with "well, it should have gone like..."
Lower Decks has the perk of a low runtime. Just enough to tickle the nostalgia buttons. Retreading Tendi's arc? How many times did Data/Doctor have to learn about humanity? Doesn't bug me.
    You could say.
    "It's like poetry, it rhymes."
The baseball, Kira glancing at the wormhole. We can quibble about the minutiae of the timeline of events, but that's all I need to feel. She's always watching and waiting for her Emissary to return.

Thanks for your insightful thoughts TREKLAD. I am never disappointed in any LOWER DECKS episode, but as you say it could be MORE in little ways.

Good morning TREKLAD, I liked this very much. Now this is WHY I look forward to hear your thoughts on this episode

I agree with your thoughts and if I was a person taking a close look into the episode it would be not as enjoyable at the time. BUT AFTER A FEW WATCHES you are right on may points😀

Hi Thomas, thanks for leaving your thoughts as always. I can see why the episode is so popular, but while I liked it I'm not so easy to please when it comes to this kind of nostalgia-heavy stuff. Star Trek is at its best when looking forward.
