Love this! And you are right, I didn't know Kendrick's album came out on the same date! In terms of Red, I think Treacherous is criminally underrated. I love the slow buildup before the bridge and the echoes.
I love seeing people review Taylor’s albums especially guys because so many people make it seem like only teenage girls listen to her music but it’s so good that I think everyone could love at least one of her songs 😍
Can I just say, your editing is amazing. No reactor I've ever seen bothers to go to this extent and it makes it super entertaining to watch along with your comments.

I did enjoy the combo of your favorite and a new favorite. Your explanations of Kendrick Lamar songs make me realize even more how much he deserved the Pulitzer Prize. So many layers. That album is like a book that has new twists unfold with every chapter.
Yes!! Taylor & Kendrick are the best lyricist of this generation. I’m glad you enjoyed my explanations. Thank you Lydia!! More coming soon, please share if you can too
Amazing video!!! This was my favourite taylor album before folklore, so glad you reacted to this! The heartbreak songs are so beautiful! I have never had a romantic relationship so I always interpret those songs to other heartbreaking things I have experienced (like friendships that are over and family members I no longer see, that sort of thing). The Lucky One also kind of correlates to the song 'the last great american dynasty' i think. Because The Lucky One talks about how fame isn't all hollywood movies make it out to be and in 'the last great american dynasty' she talks about how people talk about the critism famous people face and in both songs she draws comparison with herself through telling the stories of others. Lol I was waiting for you to get to The Moment I Knew and Come Back...Be Here because those are two of my favourite songs from this album (besides Sad Beautiful Tragic), but I didn't realise they were from the deluxe, because Spotify only has the Red deluxe haha. This whole album is so good honestly. I’ve heard a handful of songs from it, but never did a start to finish. I love when listening to a whole album gives you a more complete sense of each individual song and it sounds like that’s the case here. Starlight is the most Taylor prom song possible 😂
I understand why you thought this "comparison reaction" might be interesting. I appreciated hearing you explain what Lamar meant because it is hard to understand his songs sometimes. Btw, one of my favorite songs ever is his "Love" song. I can listen to that on repeat forever. But, tbh, I don't think jumping back and forth worked. They're such different genres, I found it very jarring.
“Love” is one of my favorites too!! As for the video, I think the back and forth represents two completely different worlds (a Compton rapper and a country singer) who each put classic albums out on the same day with each side unaware of the other. This video represents the willingness of each side to be open minded to hear the other because they’re both amazing lyricists/musicians. So, I think your opinion is fine to have. If this felt jarring because of the culture shock that comes on one side, i think I did a great job. All the love ❤️
@@AnthonyAikenJr You did an excellent job! This video represents so much effort. Sorry I didn't say that first. The whole world needs cultural ambassadors that can introduce and explain the many different realities that exist on this planet. Upon further reflection, I can honestly say I appreciate you doing this video comparison.

@@pencilxthoughts Taylor's first song to chart on hip-hop/rap and hitting #1 to end K*nye once and for all. omg
Thank you for introducing me to Kendrick, I know he's great and all cause Taylor like him, critics love him, english speakers adore him but no one just ever push or encourage me to check his full album out cause hiphop/rap is quite hard to follow when english isn't our first language so your breakdown really helps
Just for reference there are two main relationships in this album so We are never getting back together and Stay Stay Stay are about different people.
Stay, Stay, Stay is actually fictional. Kinda like Fearless
I did not know that lol. I thought she took the old dude back. I’m glad though!!
@@mariaespejo2851 omg your so right why did I totally forget that. I was thinking about Connor for some reason

Thank you!! 😂 I’m very proud of that edit
When I was younger I was a taylor swift STAN and I just remember watching the everything has changed music video, and growing up on it, and now it's so nostalgic to me 😭
Music that makes you feel nostalgia>>>
I literally ADORE both albums 😭😭😭
Sonja, you’re the chosen one ❤️. If you love Taylor and Kendrick my level of appreciation for you is high
GENIUS. I cannot emphasize how amazing these videos are but this one is on another level. good kid maad city is the first Kendrick album I ever listened to and I just love how this was able to work and I feel like I appreciated the album even more after watching this. Idk if they give out awards for best RUclips videos but here’s a virtual one 🏆
I sound like a broken record but THE EDITING!!!!!
Ok I’ll shut up now. Thank you for all your videos
Thank you Carolina ❤️!! I was kinda nervous putting this out too but I’m so happy everyone loves it. Also, I appreciate your comments. You keep me motivated and I hope you’re doing well as always.
@@AnthonyAikenJr trust your creativity, you are doing always going the most amazing and unique videos. Hope you’re doing well too 😊
At the Red tour she was on her 2nd stage a small circle stage towards the back of the crowd and she brought out Ed and sang Everything Changed and Begin again and everything had been like dancing and happy and out of nowhere I found myself just crying watching her singing Begin Again and it's a feeling I still can recall perfectly there was just this insane energy that will always stay with me. She made a stadium feel everything she was feeling in that moment I looked around and it was the 1st time everyone was just still and totally in the moment really cool.
I want to hear Begin Again Live now 👀
What they both have in common is such excellent story telling!! To me genre doesn’t even matter if you can paint a picture. Would love to see you go down the rabbit hole that is Hamilton, I think you’d love it

This is my favourite video of yours so far! Juxtaposing these 2 particular albums isn't something you would otherwise see on reviews and I love that. I like hearing you compare music from your more 'traditional' music tastes (rap/hip hop) with your newer interests (pop music).
Thanks!! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’ll try to blend these genres/cultures more often
Did you know that 22 is Harry’s favorite song in this album? Forever iconic
BEGIN AGAIN IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE OF THIS ALBUM!

Love the content idea, knowing your love for Kendrick and now discovering Taylor’s discography, it’s so genuine!!
Hey Amber, thank you for checking in!! It’s been fun. I think the best part of it all is knowing how much respect Taylor has for Kendrick and Kendrick has for Taylor. It makes me feel stupid for not listening to both all this time
never in my wildest dreams did i think i would find someone comparing and contrasting my favorite kendrick and taylor albums. thoroughly enjoy your content, genuinely refreshing to hear your takes. keep it up! ❤️🔥
Watch her BBC live lounge acoustic performance of "Holy Ground", I guarantee you'll be happy you did.
Love this! And you are right, I didn't know Kendrick's album came out on the same date! In terms of Red, I think Treacherous is criminally underrated. I love the slow buildup before the bridge and the echoes.
Thank you!! & I enjoy treacherous quite a lot. Especially the instrumental
red deserved a grammy 😩 it’s truly a classic
So, that year, Kendrick and Taylor were both snubbed in my opinion
i love how you explained kendrick’s songs so well, thank you. I’ve never really listened to him before but im for sure downloading this album!

I love seeing people review Taylor’s albums especially guys because so many people make it seem like only teenage girls listen to her music but it’s so good that I think everyone could love at least one of her songs 😍
Very true!! Just have to go into the music open minded and you’ll see the genius
Can I just say, your editing is amazing. No reactor I've ever seen bothers to go to this extent and it makes it super entertaining to watch along with your comments.

The Rose Garden is a venue in Portland, OR. It’s hard to get a sold out show there because it’s small, and it’s comparing it to Madison square because it’s huge and also hard to get a sold out show
I did not know this!! Thank you for telling me. I was thinking of a literal flower garden lol
Also I am definitely going to check out GKMC, i think it's a great idea to combine the two albums in this video!
Thank you so much!! & yes, I sometimes think about love songs/ heartbreak songs in different ways too. I’m glad you’re giving Kendrick a listen
Oh my God I don’t think I’ve been this early. This is my all time favorite album of hers (even with folklore) so I’m hoping you love it.
It was great!! Folklore is still my favorite
I LOVED this video. Red was my first era as a swiftie, so it has a special place in my heart. And I’m for sure checking out Kendrick’s album now, your explanation about the songwriting was really interesting. Keep doing stuff like this, I really enjoy your channel!

Please make your Tay Tay prom playlist public on Spotify when it’s finished! You should listen to Speak Now and Fearless first though there’s definitely songs that could be added from them
Yes!! I got you destiny!! & what songs should I look out for 👀
From Speak Now Enchanted 1000% and Sparks Fly maybe. From Fearless Love Story for sure
The themes in Sing about me I’m dying of thirst are also huge in Taylor’s discography, like about legacy, your life changing with fame, etc

Update: alright I feel you talked me into going to listen to the whole Kendrick album. I’ve heard a handful of songs from it, but never did a start to finish. I love when listening to a whole album gives you a more complete sense of each individual song and it sounds like that’s the case here.

The passion you have when talking about Kendricks music/ songwriting is the same way I feel when I’m talking about Taylor’s music/ songwriting 👏🏻❤️👏🏾
I love your Taylor reactions so much.
Thank you so much. Feel free to recommend more and share if you can
I understand why you thought this "comparison reaction" might be interesting.
That's how we'll get to know and understand each other so that we can get along better. That's what you've done for us in this video. Upon further reflection, I can honestly say I appreciate you doing this video comparison.

I love how the commentary on this is a mix of deep and sarcastic. Like he’s not even trying to be clever. It really makes me feel like the images that are coming up on the screen are straight from his brain and the words are both so genuine and thought out. Genuine, that’s the word for this man.

LOVE GIRL AT HOME AND HOLY GROUND AND RED AND ALL TOO WELL UGH SUCH BOPSSSS
This has literally been one of my favorite albums of her's even since it came out, and it was not until you brought up the thematic elements of autumn and the dark academia vibes that made me realize more reasons why I was drawn to it. Both Red and Folklore carry the vibes and those are the albums I adore the most. I am always happy to find more people listing her other tracks, and not just the radio hits. I absolutely LOVE your editing!
Thank you for blending the worlds together :) i think it was kendricks first #1 with bad blood too. RED is definately up there with swifties. But all the albums are precious and have a unique vibe and era. RED was when she switched it up and experimented with pop legend producer max martin on some tracks. She changed her image aswell. (I became a swiftie 1989 era) but i loved the singles of RED. I remember loving 22 and burning it onto a CD lol. Still have it haha.
