I'm still a metalhead and used to have a Jackson kellystar but I'm over odd shaped guitars now. Just try getting a flight case for that thing, it's a custom job, and those corners are chip magnets. Think I'll be looking into the purple prestige RG 7 string instead.
It fills me with joy that they decided to bring back the Xiphos. Not to mention the paint job they decided to give it really screams "PLAY SOME CANNIBAL CORPSE!"

@@oshikiri999 if you would consider the billions and millions of people who don't play at all because they dont have the aptitude or skill, then obviously less of us play guitar well, according the the rule of large numbers. Its literally the same for every skill. As the skill increases, the number of people who can do it well decreases.
I was never into the "pointy" shape until the first time I picked up an Explorer. The balance of it was amazing, and it felt so natural when standing with it. So now I'd like to think I'm not so prejudiced against the different shaped axes. Love your channel my man. Thanx 4 the vid.
I like how they are bringing older saught after models back hope they make an 8 string xiphos and iceman and fixed bridge versions of the xiphos in the future
A behold an ancient; monolithic-obsidian axe that needs a worthy hero to wield it against an abysmal foe. I love it! Regardless of appearances, I think you could make nearly any axe sound good -- it's mostly in the master's hands.
I remember when they released the Xiphos and it was hyped as the guitar that Muhammed would use on the next Necrophagist album..15 years later and were still waiting
@@DukeusMostchillius They were hinting at a Muhammed Signature. Then Relapse fucked it up for everyone by trying to release songs that the band didn't want to.
Speaking of Necrophagist, I saw an interview with Mohammed a few years ago. He said that he had an entire album recorded on a hard drive somewhere, but just has no motivation right now to do the band again. I understand completely, but I also feel it's extremely selfish to keep it from die-hard Necrophagist fans.
Would definitely get this guitar if I didn't have a Jackson Warrior already. Perfect for playing in classical position. But who knows; I still need a 7 string at some point :)

If I was in the market for a name brand 7 string at a decent price - I'd definitely consider it. To keep my guitar acquisition syndrome under control, I try to limit my collection to one of each type I already have an LTD MH-17 seven string, but it's a hardtail w/ a TL type body. I also have a noname 7 string fan fret, and an Ibanez 8 string fan fret - both w/ TL type bodies. When it comes to pointy, about all I have is a ~58 flying V (kit), and a Gibson Moderne (clone / fake). That armrest feature is nice, eh? most folks don't realize that about guitars with long lower left horns/bouts (V, Rhodes, Explorer, etc). Happy birthday! Keep up the good work.

I've bought one back in 2019 in a music store here in Brazil, but it is a 6 string 27 frets back from 2011 release. It was new and inside the original case, i don't have an idea of why and how it wasn't bought before, the other models they had were sold out long ago, they had only this last one i've got, it was really unbelievable when i found it, totally new, and after so many years of it being manufactured, it is a beast of a guitar indeed.
I've never been much of a fan of 7+ string guitars but, this demo video kinda changed my mind. I'd be Open to buying one of these and taking my playing to a new level

I got an Ibanez RGIB21 back in May. I absolutely love this guitar. I also have an RG470 that I bought back in 93 and I still play it and love it. I am looking at pickups for it. The bridge pickup is a little thin sounding. I need a pickup that will boost mids and handles harmonics well. I actually looked at the DiMarzio Mojo bridge pickup because it's one of Joe Satriani's signature pickup and I really dig his sound, especially on the Flying in a Blue Dream album.

I had the original 7 string Xiphos. The neck was super thin and comfortable the d activators sounded amazing. It had the 1st case of neck dive I have ever felt. Ot was so bad I had to sell the guitar. I tried weights in the electronics cavity as well as moving strap bolts!
I have the 2007 XPT 700, chameleon finish. Killer guitar! Only problem was where they put the strap pins. Had them put where they should be, one of my favorite guitars that I have.

Reverse headstocks sometimes works and to me the coolest looking reverse headstocks have to be Ibanez. Beautiful!
