This 80's SynthAxe clip got recommended a while back. Thank you to all you generous folks who send me suggestions- I've got quite a list of requests and I'm doing my best to get to 'em. Thank you for your patience. Neville Martin has a legendary voice for ASMR.

The eight people that bought one of these were probably thrilled.
I did a google dive trying to find one for sale or display- I was unsuccessful. If there are any remaining- they are well kept.

The amount of effort to design and program a synth AND invent ways to play it to mimic the action of a guitar is mind blowing. Only to sell almost none. When synth players were so awkward about playing keys instead of strings… how things change
You have to remember this isn’t even a synth, it just fires off control data to trigger notes on any synth equipped with MIDI. So you had to put up over $10k to get the SynthAxe and still couldn’t generate sound until you spent thousands more on a synth. That’s why these were pretty much untouchable unless you were a successful signed artist or composer.
Synthaxe... often associated with the great fusion player Allan Holdsworth, RIP.

They cost over 10 grand in 80’s money and had reliability issues. Very few people could put up the money to get one new
