Tell me what you think of retiring to Colombia in the comment section below. I have also spelt Colombia incorrectly in one of my graphics that I can't edit, my apologies but please enjoy the vlog regardless.
Everyone here complaining about things like roads, trash, corruption etc. If you want a luxury lifestyle go to NYC or London or Marsielle or something. This is what makes Colombia raw and amazing, culturally rich. Plus, you don't have to stay in big cities to enjoy life there, I'd prefer places like Manizales, Pereira, San Gil etc where cost of living is way less than 1500 a month
Great video...…) you provided helpful details and guidance. I saw your video on Panama, as well. You also did a great job on that video. Thank you for doing this!
@Sebastian. Thank you! This information is also for myself and my girlfriends plans on going overseas in the short future as well, so I'm trying my best in giving the most current information. I'm also getting some great information by commenters as well, which I was hoping for as well, so we have a well rounded idea of what we are getting ourselves into. We are also planning on going to one of the countries I've done a review for next month to visit, not mentioning where just yet, but will make a vlog about it to post!
Thank you for the very informative video I plan to retire in 2021 to live in Medellin. I have lived half my life in Hawaii which is way too expensive now.
Thanks you for your video. As I approach retirement in USA we can't afford to live here and Colombia seems a good fit bc the weather, healthcare system and affordability. I know there are cons but where you don't find then nowadays. Based on your information me and my wife can afford a nice retirement in Colombia.
I recommend Colombia it’s really cheap and beautiful, I spent 60 days there and just came back, the weather is nice, it has beautiful beaches, beautiful girls too, the food is just too good yk, the people are nice and fun. It’s an excellent place
What? You're not going down there. You have to stay up here and be miserable and anxious and get told what pronouns to use like the rest of us ....n stuff.
The overall estimate of expenses of 1000/2000 USD per month is realistic but the monthly expenses listed here are unrealisticly low in my view. A $250 per month apartment in a good neighborhood is not gonna happen in a major city, and even then you'd need to buy your furniture. Then you'd need to find someone willing to rent to you without a local property owner as co-signer. You could find that price out in the country or a very small town. My monthly rent for a 2/2 in Medellin in a nice area runs me double what is quoted here and monthly utilities are much more expensive than quoted here. Bogota is much more expensive and temperatures in the coastal cities are steamy. So I think the pros are overstated but trust me Medellin is still the place to double your buying power. If you are willing to learn Spanish you'll do much better because not that many people speak English.
@Joe Cregan. Yes, I know. Wish I could go back and fix it, it's been almost a year like that. Once uploaded...no going back. It was mentioned as well by someone else.
There are many Asian Latinos, generations worth, in South America, just not as well known to the mass media. Chinese and Japanese are the largest ancestries and the rest are Indians, Koreans, Filipinos and others. Brazilians are huge for this as well, they don't care about race. Peru's president used to be Japanese. Being Asian is nothing special, everyone tolerates each other, like in North America, were just like everyone else.
I don’t know when this was made but I’m in Bogotá right now. In order to rent an apartment you have to get to guarantee years who own property to guarantee that you will pay the rent I will not take any kind of deposit it’s almost like a bail bond and white backed up by property. Unless you go do an Airbnb which is expensive you’re not gonna be able to rent.
i moved to colombia. the roads are NOT well in Bogota. the health care is overrated and CAN be over overcrowded. even if you pay good money.... that's all I had to add
@donfs S well the health care opinion is based off asking other people and the fact that nothing seems to work properly. Really disorganized. I am not bound to bogota by employment since i work online. BUT i would have to rent out at least one of my apartments rooms. Then there is the fact that my gf is finishing her studies. After she is done i want to go to medellin with her and see if she prefers it. I think she will. Thats the plan
IM IN COLOMBIA FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS BACK AND FORTH IS NICE BUT THE CRIMINAL IS TAKE IT OVER IS VERY DANGEROUS. DON'T COMPERE WITH THE CARTELS THE NEW CRIMINALS YOU DON'T NKOW THAT HIT YOU. THE FOOD IS THE SAME AS NEW YORK I LIVE IN NEW YORK THE ONLY I THINK YOU RIGHT IS 200,000 YOU CAN GET A NICE HOUSE.

I agree with everything you said in the video, but please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, learn how to spell Colombia. It's ColOmbia, NOT ColUmbia! That is a pet peeve of the Colombians, and with good reason.

Hi Bitcoin again sky rocket above $50k. By Dec btc ’d hits $100k. Buying cryptocurrencies is good they're a huge help down the road to earn.
Gracias por tan buena informacion
Oh look at this! 😆 I had just seen your Latvian version of this.
Thank you for watching!
Great information👍
I think you woke the cat up from what looks like a good nap. He does not look happy to be disturbed.
@icvdaniel. Yeah, I do that a lot, hard not to do when she sleeps most of the day! haha!
Fantastic video
Only downside I see is you have to always be concerned with the strength of the Dollar vs the Colombian peso. Besides that it looks awesome.
Very informative

COLOMBIA NOT COLUMBIA
I noticed that too. It's a pet peeve for Colombians and I don't blame them.
How have the prices changed in the last 4 years?
Can I apply same in the country of origin? Is there any minimum days required to live in Columbia per year for continuity?
Do you mean ColOmbia? Columbia is the capital of the US state of South Carolina.
@@joselassalle9292 Colombia country
Great information, thanks for the tips, you are still in Colombia?
@Augusto Lugo. Thank you, I appreciate it!
What about driving and owning a car?
NOTE: All visa requirements have changed in the last 5 years.
What are the requirements for migrating to columbia
If you are in USA you don't need any requirements to move to Columbia, South Carolina.
Dude - ColOmbia, not ColUmbia (in your graphics)

What is it like being Asian in Colombia? Any special experiences worth noting for Asian guys in Colombia?

@donfs S i have sever seen such high ways. It was be amazing to see one in colombia
Colombia spelt wrong, first thing I noticed. Attention to detail is important if you want credibility.
Colombia is spelled with an “O” not a “U”. Columbia and Colombia are two very different places
Spelling, It's Colombia, not Columbia.

Columbia is the capital of the US state of South Carolina.
OMG PLEASE spell Colombia (NOT Columbia) correctly .. nothing is more infuriating.

Better to marry a Columbian citizen, like Miss Columbia 2019?
Miss South Carolina (USA)?
fake it til you make it.
Can't really trust a guy who cannot even spell the name of the country. COLOMBIA, dude. COLUMBIA is in South Carolina.
