A lot of comics do that when they are being "interviewed" on late night talk shows. The hosts even have index cards that remind them of what topics to bring up as setups for the jokes.

Yeah, pretty much. Some are better at it than others, I think. I love Brian, but this one was fairly straightforward. Conan's a great sport, so it came off pretty well, but I wouldn't have minded something a bit more off the cuff. I think Patton is better at melding interviews with his bits. He still totally does standup routines when he's on Conan, but he's good at throwing in improvisation and whatnot.
he maybe tells the show's staff what questions conan should ask him as a setup for the jokes, but i dont think he tells them and conan/other interviewer the joke's themselfs. anyway both ways it's still hysterical

Conan genuinely doesn’t like Brian posehn. If you go and watch all of conans interview with Brian he cuts the interviews short and subtlety insults him. He also looks like he’s anxious to end the show the wholentine
