Absolutely. I never needed any promotion to become a fan of H. Jon. I just stumbled onto Home Movies and eventually realized, "Holy shit, he plays _both_ of the funniest characters?!?" And that is not to take away from Brendon Small, he's a genius, but Benjamin is funnier.
Gerald Perez H Jon Benjamin and Loren Bouchard did a radio interview that was included as an extra on a Home Movies DVD. This interview was really truly excruciating and like any disaster it was impossible to turn away. Highly Recommended!
Frankly YouzACoopa I couldn't watch Season One with the commentary track, because Benjamin and Small were talking all over each other with the episode's audio at full level. It was literally unlistenable, but I might have missed some funny moments.
@@clintnichols3030 Sure was. I don't think he wrote for Conan though. He was a bit player. So was Tina Fey's husband and also Jack McBrayer (I think he was an usher or something first).

Well Conan you have passed the halfway point of Tom Snyder's career and you have made millions of people laugh and influenced many so you can call your career a success.
MrAndymerritt So he's not a true success. True success is starting with nothing and succeeding. Conan's hand was held all the way. Never had to struggle for anything. Nothing impressive with that.
Coldest Winter Not trolling. Completely serious. You are probably more of a success than Conan since your father played no part in your life whatsoever. Though your grandparents seem to have been very supportive of you and raised you, even when your mum was away from you sowing her wild oats.
Tom Snyder was a talk show host for 13 years (1973 to 1982; 1995 to 1999) Conan O'Brien has been a talk show host for 23 years (1993 to now). Tom Snyder's late-night career is a little more than half as long as Conan O'Brien's is now.
After hosting a evening news show from 82-85, Snyder had a daytime talk show from 85-88, not the same as late night of course. He had a radio show from 88-92 and then the CNBC show (the Colorcast) for most of 93-94 which was pretty similar to Tomorrow or Late Late Show. So besides the news years he did host a talk show of one type or another for 23 years. At least according to Wikipedia.
In just a few more years, Conan will reach the same amount of "active years" that Tom had, Conan right now is at 37 (active since 1983) and Tom had a total of 41 (1959-2000)
Well to comment on Conan's early words... Conan has had a long career, and influential. He's unique, good natured, doesn't take himself too seriously. He recognizes great talent around him (Norm, Burr, et al) and feeds it, and he doesn't rely on divisive political commentary, but stuff that's actually funny. Conan, I would love to see you on any major network at 11:30 ET.
No. He just appeared occasionally as a sketch performer like Amy Poehler and others back in the day. I think he was friends with some of the writers, like Jon Glaser.
Wow I was just looking for the time stamp to post that hahaha. That voice is so recognizable for the longest time I didn't realize he was Dr. Katz's son on the hit show and finding out reinvigorated my love for it! I love when he works with David Cross, Freakshow was amazing.
I don't really understand why people say Conan back then was so much better (other then it's their nostalgia speaking). I loved him back then too, but let's face it, he was very akward most of the times, and the stuff he does today (The Kardashian-Kanye Fetus, God 2.0, the bits with Jordan) are waaay raunchier and more creative then what he did back then. Also, his and Andy's improv-skills got way better!! So Conan is basically like wine, he ages well!
@bigboylikesalsa to go back further, he's also plays the coach on home movies Mcgirc i think the name was. Also he has a part in family guy as some store clerk. I sure there's countless other things he's been in.
Hey does anyone have the episode where the entire studio audience was filled with Elementary school kids? I have not been able to find it and it is one of the most memorable Late Night with Conan O'Brien moments.
+Rory Monaghan I'd extend that window even a little further back, but generally I agree with you. Initially, it was hard to get used to Andy not being on the show, but eventually it found stronger legs than before.
