We tried this vs bunch sets and our will lb got destroyed, there's no way I could ask him to fit the run and be 30 yards down the filed on deep over routes. And he's our best player. We've always put our best ilb at the will he's a very athletic kid too. 6'0 215# track kid. Runs a 11 sec 100 and literally we gave up 5 tds the last 3 weeks of the season using this. Teams also started getting us with a double post wheel concept, we could not play a sky tech by the weak safety like in this the way we fixed this was by playing cloud and keeping the weak saf 10-15 depending on the game plan.
We went back to our man free and installed a 3 man front and used a 3 saf allignment at 8-12 and played a lot of of Tampa and had to drop some of our split field stuff. Those tite bunch sets are tough to play our apex and corner banjo it. But coach I don't know how you drill that wlb to fit the run then cover the deep over with zero help, teams would literally not even come off the ball when we had the backside locked.
I like the videos but once we simplified things we played a lot better in the playoffs
