At this point it’s clear Supercell doesn’t do any play testing. They’re just rushing these evos as fast as possible for the money
I'm guessing it's because they're rushing out these updates so fucking fast that the developers and artists are being overworked :(
Nah, the only testing they do is to make sure it's overpowered so they can sell even more offers in the shop
I think they do play testing, but want you to FOMO into buying it. They do that in other games, make new thing OP and nerf it when everyone buys it.

The amount of money they get from the evo is their playtesting. If they don’t get enough money, buff it.

game isnt dead until the playerbase is sub 500, the dev team have left and the game stops recieving updates. if you want an actual dying game, check out pixel worlds, which is on its last leg

Ok do people just not realize what an evolution to the goblin drill will do ? Like the meta next season cause of y'all who say it's gonna be broken will kill the goblin drill entirely out of cycle decks and even in cycle decks you will have to use the evo cause of you don't because of the big advertisment everyone will have a counter to it.

The drill always has been able to deal spawn damage. The goblin drill can be counted many ways.
People need to wait and see how it is because it takes 2 cycle for the evo.

It's not even broken at this point except if you consider that it will break the goblin drill's purpose entirely.
Supercell is having the biggest fall off in gaming history. Fire all of the lead designers right now.
An emergency nerf they should do is to remove the spawn damage on the 2nd and 3rd phase
And the goblin spawns, make it spawn them normally (as opposed to extra ones spawning when it moves)
No thats too far @dylanpaterson7082 either it looses the extra spawn damage (which is honestly nothing, 70 damage is pitiful) or it looses the much stronger goblin spawning mechanic

As a drill player:
I think if they made it respawn only once at 50% health it will still be very good but it will not be broken.
And also they need to fix the icon which appears in the spot of the drill when you cycle it because it is a disadvantage for every non evolved one when you play with the evo.
And is not only with the drill but also with the goblin barrel and is gonna be with the miner as well and this is a problem when you mirror these cards as well.

It doesnt need an emergency nerf. It needs to be removed entirely. THE CARD IS ALREADY A VERY STRONG WIN CONDITION IF ANYTHING THE BASE CARD NEEDS A SOME TWEAKING
Why am I not surprised. Classic SuperCell... This was one of the best evolution cards to date and they don't let us have a bit of fun.
Its not supercell fault, its the clash royale dev teams fault.
Correction: if the goblin drill is placed anywhere that isn’t a crown tower, it’ll hide and reappear in the same spot. You do still get the 3 pop-ups, it just doesn’t move.
At first I saw it and I thought it was a fan concept because of how fake it looks but seeing way more youtubers with goblin drill videos I'm pretty happy for the valk meta
It won’t get a nerf until everyone has bought the £20 shop offer to unlock it
I luckily get to unlock it for free I saved my evo shards
I too but please don't nerf the card it's already gonna have a hard time in the meta on realease please leave it alone. Nobody realizes that goblin drill will lose all of it's glory with this evolution.

Goblin curse is going to be even more popular with how many goblins are going to be spawning. Evo drill is going to have a 100% use rate if it doesn't get nerfed.
The only unbroken thing about it is that you can easily predict where the nonevo drill is going to be placed by the evo gem that appears.

1:14 Like the Goblin Barrel Evolution, the diamond displays where the drill is going to pop up, harming the regular card.
this is the only evolution you cannot fully counter, you are guaranteed to be taking damage
tbh a well placed firecracker/bomber evo is like free 400 damage unless u predict it

Yep. Only way to counter this is to eliminate it with as few hits as possible. Glad I use Mini-Pekka in almost all of my decks 🌝🗡️🥞

You can see where the reg drill will spawn because the evo shard icon goes right where your opponent placed it
Dont know if you worded it bad, or I misunderstood at 1:05 but I'm pretty sure no matter where you place it, you get the three spawns, it just doesnt change place if its not next to a tower
The MANDATORY nerf that needs to happen is goblins only when it dies.
It literally doesnt make semse to spawm death goblins at ⅓ and ⅔ health,it's not a whole new drill spawning,it's the same one going down and up again.

The only nerfs of acceptable severity for this are increasing cycles to 3 or only spawning 1 goblin until the last explosion, where it spawns 2. Even then, those might not be harsh enough.

Edit: At first I thought this was clickbait, showcasing how broken the drill was, but I can believe it is an actual evolution. Drill was also a pretty recent added card. Very strange that they added this, and cr seems, like never before, more a modded game than a real one. Also I think it IS actually fake, as they didn't even try with the car cover.

I think evolutions are like the old "new cards" like nightwitch, megaknight (yea it was hard to kill a +4 lvl mk) or god forbid the elixir golem. You can t say it was the best, but i think it is fine as long as they just temper it down. (Plus it is fun in game modes imo)
One thing I noticed in the video is that an Ice Spirit jumped onto the Evo Drill and froze it, and it's ability STILL ACTIVATED. It's hard to tell whether or not it activated during the freeze, but it was definitely very close.
I feel like the reposition could be okay, but it should 1) only reposition once at 50% health, and 2) not spawn additional goblins immediately when doing so. The extra 25 crown damage is fine imo.
I think another cool thing to add some counterplay is that it should be coded that the process by which it checks if its below the HP threshold to trigger the reposition should be skipped if it is in a stunned or frozen state, that way if you can properly time an Ice Spirit, Electro Spirit, Electro Wizard, Zap, Zappies, Freeze, etc, you can counter the repositioning ability.
It might also be cool if the animation where the drill goes underground was done on a timer, like 1-1.5sec, and the drill is vulnerable during this time. Then allow this vulnerable time to be extended by slowing effects like Ice Wizard, Snowball, Earthquake, Ram Rider etc. as an additional point of counterplay for a defending player. The drill player can also participate in this counterplay by throwing a quick or predictive Zap or snowball to attempt to prevent units that might stun or freeze their drill before those units can get their attacks off.

Damn, seeing the skeleton king made me realize that in 2021, when champions were added, everybody thought they had really crazy mechanics, like dashing trough everybody, turning invisible and a walking graveyard. Now we have evolutions with not crazy, but rather idiotic abilities.

I think supercell should chance it so that it dont spawn in different locations, that would leke it so that the bomber and the valk still would counter it and that it wouldt me that much garantied damage.
I am genuinely thinking this game is gonna go under eventually. Im only around because i have hope that the game will get better. First stopped playing trophy road at lvl15 and double evo slot. Then only pushing to masters recently (used to push to grand champ then i got outleveled). Considering stopping cw soon

Is everyone just forgetting this is a building?? Evo ram will trigger the ability in one hit agro the spawned goblins retarget the other 2, if it dies (from gobs or spells) barbs will clean up , rg is also slow and ranged so can sit back and deal with it both give good counter push. Ram rider can attack the drill and goblins. Balloon while being slow will target the drill and splash goblins .I've not played for a while and get the game has changed and beat down is pretty much dead but as much as people complained about graveyard on release being, able to hold troops on your side was insane for counter pushes now having the same for building targeting troops could be a good shake up from spell cycle 🤢 being top in the world.

Ngl, this might work as a 3 evo cycle, because alot of drill decks are cycle decks so getting to 3 cycles is not that hard
Next evolution: mega knight, because overpowered cards can generate more money.
Honestly, balancing this card wouldn't be that hard.
Instead of dropping 2 goblins on the 66% activation and 33% activation intervals, just make it 1 goblin (50% nerf)
The last drop can still have 2 goblins.
OR
Make it only have 1 activation instead of 2 different activation intervals.
Instead of 66% and 33%, it's just 50%. This way it could still have 2 goblins after the activation, but it doesn't get as much value since there is only one activation period.
I'm not a playtester, but I think that there are a couple of counters to this card:
Anything with good splash damage and range (ex. bomber, wizard) or cards with high one-hit attacks (ex. pekka and sparky) would be good counters to the drill.
Or they could have never added any evolutions

The dril has a push back when spawning a goblin. Dealing damage to surounding and making it so all goblins can connect. The dril does not respawn. Just a lush back. And I think putting it on 1 cycle is alright.
The dril opens its dril and that spins around pushing back. Nice animation I think.
Another good nerf can be with every spawn it spawns 1 goblin instead of 2
The meta next season will be decks that can counter the Evo drill 😂
only decks that take the initiative will get into the meta, which means the meta decks will have evo drill in them

They totally broke the concept of evolutions.
At first, it was a way of giving a second chance to the not good cards (for example, barbs are trash but their evo is great). Nowadays, its just a way to break already good cards, get money, and then nerf them

You know it is going to be broken when you almost lose your tower to one card and you invested a evo, and 8 elixir trying to defend the attack from one card
They don’t care about balancing and I feel like the company is doing this and they failed their audience and player base altogether which pisses me off and we all have the same reaction to b rad where he completely snapped
Honestly they should just completely change the ability, it seems too strong. Also it's only useful on the tower, it would be nice to have an evolution that's useful on defense as well
