This was the BEST video. Mr. Domestic's video was fun to watch; he's funny, and he REALLY did a GREAT job of showing the step by step process! I'm planning on making some fabulous fabric stars!
I remember 'weaving' gum wrappers to make chains and this beauty is the same thing. SOOOOO Fun. They will become gifts for the residents at a local assisted living facility when we go caroling next week. Thanks for the GREAT project. SOOO fun!!!
Holy cow....I used to do the gum wrapper weaving 50 plus years ago. Blast from the past!!!!! I'm going to do a fabric one right now. Great video and presentation, Mister Domestic. Thank you for sharing.
I made a gum wrapper chain so big it would wrap around my house. I kept it for a while but ended up throwing it away. I would get gum wrappers from my classmates. Fun! Fun!
Clicked your video. This is my first time viewing.. Within 10 secs i clicked subscribe! Haha.. You caught me! Dont even know how to sew but I enjoy your vid!

This is the first year I've decided to celebrate christmas in almost 3 decades and I've decided to make lots of ornaments for the tree myself. Love this star! Am going to second hand shops on the weekend to buy old clothes so I can use the fabric. Thanks so much for this and the joy you take in making them.
I woke up early, when I should be sleeping... Instead of being mad about it you had me smiling! These will be so cute for my kids in the classroom, for their holiday gifts. Thank you!
being of Norwegian descent i feel obligated to make hundreds of these for Christmas gifts this year! thank you for sharing your video with us. and thank you for spreading joy! iron sound effects: who knew? :)
Thanks for the clear video! I made a boatload of these using 3"x12" strips of Christmas wrapping paper! I must admit...they are quite impressively adorable! I will be putting them on Christmas presents as a "tag" that the recipient can take home and hang on their tree!
As a Dane I have known and made these every Christmas for as long as I can remember. But I had never thought to make them out of fabric, we always make them out of paper. I must try the fabric version.
You are so entertaining! I really enjoyed this video, it's the first one I've watched and I subscribed immediately after. Can't wait to watch more. Hope this is still an active channel. 😁
Hi Matthew you are absolutely brilliant, not only are you a superb teacher but you are a talented showman too. Your an absolute crackpot!!!!!!! Thank you so much I have seen this before but, it doesn’t hurt to see it again. Thank you so much. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Omg! I also learned to make these in grade school over 40 years ago. We made them from paper, and there was one more step that adds cones on top of the four squares on both sides. Well done! I’ll check out your other videos.
Yes! I was thinking the same thing. Thought I would use stiff iron interfacing so the "cones" would stand up. Then I want to use fabric stiffner to seal it all up so it will last forever.
HI from Scandinavia (Denmark). We usually make them with paper, so was amazed when I first spotted your video. I have now made 13 pieces for family and friends as Christmas presents. I can't wait to hear/watch their reactions 😉. Thank you so much for this 🙏❤😊

Finally. This is the most conclusive and distinct instruction on making this star. Thank You!
What a great project and I found out about the gloves you use. I have RA and I’m ordering some today. Love all the hints you gave us. Your a sweetheart love ❤️
Folding the fabric in the first tree steps reminds me of folding the stick of gum wrappers to make the loooong chain. :-)
As a teenager in the ‘60’s I made the gum wrapper chains!❤
I made four of these for my daughter-in-law and grandbabies and they love them. Thank you so much and God bless you and yours.
Loved your explanation of this project. You had just enough repetition to make it easier for the visual/auditory learners
So I just did one of these. Going off this video 16x4 came out super small. But I love these. Enjoy your amazing laugh.
Thank you for this excellent presentation! So clear! On thought if you use sparkly fabric it’s thicker and hard to get the points crisp! Use cotton!
Excellent idea. Easy to make . Perfect 👌🏻
I just discovered this fabric star pattern and have watched several tutorials. Yours is the very best by far!!! Thank you so much 😊
