Sorry I wasn't able to be there for the watch party yesterday, gents. Life called. I love that you highlighted the moment between Gandalf and Pippin in Minis Tirith where they talk about death. That's honestly one of my favorite scenes in the entire movie, especially as I get older. I, and my family, are also of the same faith as you gentlemen, and in December of 2021 my mom passed away when I was 27. I know she's not in pain anymore due to what she was going through, but it still sucks. This scene is not only a balm to me when thinking about her but in also thinking about myself and what awaits me. The strings that come in right after Gandalf says "white shores" always really rocks me, too, as it hammers home how peaceful and truly good what awaits you is. It reminds me of that quote about, I'm paraphrasing here, how everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die. That scene gives me a peace about it. It's okay. It's good. It's just another path, one that we all must take. Looking forward to your livestream. I should be able to be there for that one. Also, I ordered a hoodie from your merch shop and I can't wait for it! :)
So sorry for your loss, Marcus. LOTR and Tolkiens writing has a knack for comforting us even in the most difficult times. It’s true, that no matter how much we want to go to heaven, death is always going to be scary and difficult. Fantastic Fiftieth Episode lads!! Have loved venturing Beyond the Dune Sea with you both to Middle Earth. I didn’t really enjoy the Hobbit trilogy so wouldn’t necessarily want you guys to go through them but I would be happy to watch a 60/40 split of Star Wars to more Beyond The Dune Sea content. Also loved Tolkien’s explanation of Frodo’s giving in to the Rings Temptation.
