  • This Stir Fry Meal Prep will change the way you make weeknight dinners. Here are the written instructions to follow: mealprepmanual...
This video was sponsored by ZWILLING and their Fresh & Save Vacuum Food Storage System. I have been using ZWILLING knives for years and their Fresh & Save Vacuum bags for Snack City for almost a year now so when they reached out and asked if I wanted to collaborate, it was an easy yes. The Fresh & Save Bags and containers are perfect for this Stir Fry application. #ZWILLING1731 and #FreshAndSave
Here is a link to the ZWILLING Fresh & Save Starter Set. Use the code "MEALPREP" at checkout for an extra 10 bags for free when purchasing a starter set:

On my website there are hundreds of meal prep, snack, and macro friendly dessert recipes that I have developed over the years. There are no targeted ads, no pointless life stories and endless scrolling to get to the ingredient list, just the recipes. I have a subscription based model where Gold Members have access to every recipe on the site, which is under $5/month with annual memberships. If that's not your thing, there is also a Silver level membership that is free for life, still ad free, and you get access to more than 40% of the recipes. Registering to become a member, whether that is a Gold or Silver (free) member, is the best way you can help support what I do. I appreciate all of you more than you know 😎

I found a different method to really tenderize meats for stir fry/griddle style cooking. I used a top round steak the other day for beef and broccoli and it was as tender as a sirloin! Slice meat thin against the grain and on a bias. Rinse well, getting those hands in there and mixing up the meat, and wringing it out. let drain in a collander/strainer and squeeze excess water out. put meat in a bowl large enough to allow good mixing. Add 1/2 tsp baking soda per lb of meat, 1/2 tsp corn starch, some soy sauce, dash of sesame oil, a spoonful of sugar, and pepper. maybe a dash of kosher salt if using low sodium soy. mix well. allow to chill for 30 min. I stir fried this on my blackstone griddle with steamed broccoli and carrots, carmelized onion, garlic and sauce made from soy, hoisin, mirin, brown sugar, ginger, sesame oil, and some cornstarch. The meat got a nice brown crust, and veggies soaked up that sauce. Threw in some cooked rice noodles for an awesome lo mein style dinner!

There's a type of bacteria, Bacillus cereus, that can sometimes be in rice that can survive some cooking processes. It's a common cause of food poisoning. As long as you didn't leave your cooked rice out at room temperature for a long time and use it pretty quickly, and make sure to reheat it to a high enough temperature, you'll probably be okay... But generally you should be careful about it.
Just like Josh, I have eaten leftover rice and reheated it more times than I can remember and I've never gotten sick from it... It doesn't mean it can't happen though. Most people just get the squirts and an upset stomach, but some people have died of liver failure.
