My mans really has a stand mixer but not a masher.... What a world.
😂
I use the stand mixer to mash potatoes at my mom's because she doesn't have a masher. Works pretty good actually.
I just got cups a few weeks ago
@@TheMealPrepManual bro that's wild 😂
I’m wondering why he did use that to mash the potatoes?! 🤣😂
Josh, I have made your recipes as my main meals almost exclusively for the last 8 months since I started getting healthy. I lost 75 pounds and am currently working on building back muscle. I've had to do the work, sure, but after myself, I have to give you virtually all the rest of the credit. Thank you so much for what you do! Cant wait to make this this this weekend for next week!!
Damn, that’s amazing. Great progress! 👏🏼
Lets go Matt!!
Wow congrats on your progress there!!
Or just don't be a fat f in the first place.
Good job amigo, keep it up.
Easily one of the most filling meals to have and you get everything that covers base. Something about pot pies feel so fulfilling and can make it worth your day.
The calorie amount for that amount of food is wild, love to see it. This is definitely going in my prep for next week
A stand mixer will also mash potatoes, it might depend on the attachment you have though. It’s what my grandma uses 😄
I was going to comment this too. He can use the same attachment he used for the meat.
Growing up my mom always mashed potatoes with an egg beater. Smoothest, creamiest mashed potatoes ever.
A hand held masher will do the job as well...and burn more calories doing it. Not only will your potatoes have better texture...but your lazy ass will be burning calories.
I was going to comment that too as soon as I saw he had a KitchenAid 😅😅
The absolute GOAT in meal prep meals. Gets straight to point, makes filling high protein meals and just so freaking delicious. This one is definitely one of my favorites you’ve made, it was just so good and filling!
I made this a week or two ago and y'all... I'm not kidding, this was absolutely phenomenal. It's so filling and tasty. Absolutely delicious and reheats very well. Top tier josh. you got a new sub just for this alone. Much appreciated.
Your meals have quickly become my favorite things to cook each week to meal prep
So I generally prep all my meals on Sunday nights (like tonight) and never have had an issue with wanting to devour my prepped meal the same day I made it. 10/10! Think I found a new staple to move in and out through out the weeks.
This is definitely on the menu for next week! Just made the stir fry turkey meal prep and already looking for what's next. Thanks for helping me get excited to cook every weekend
Made this today easily my top 3 Meal prep recipes!! Thank you!
Just found your channel a week agao and you have helped me so much with Meal Prepping. I have struggled for years… Thank you for excellent videos. These meals taste awesome so good!!! Thanks again life saver.
Just got done meal prepping this and my god its so good. Also adding poultry seasoning to the pot stuff before simmering was a game changer!
This man out here dropping recipes minutes before I'm bout to go grocery shopping 👌
thats what i do and i get the hamburger helper and do the other option which is supposed to be healthy ha.
Simple, yet brilliant. Big fan of your recipes as a gluten-free individual. Thanks for all of the ideas!
Thanks for another great video. Your channel helped me start, and so far 4 weeks in, maintain my meal prep for lunch. I'm going to try this recipe!
Made this for for my lunches this week and it's amazing. I'm no stranger to meal prepping but usually I wind up with some bland shit that I have to drown in hot sauce. But this... this is incredible.
Dude...I love your channel!! Keep those delicious recipes coming. I can always use more meal prep ideas. 🗯💯💯🗯
We just got done having this...OMG DELICIOUS. Anxious to try the other recipes.
Hey Josh! Your meal preps have helped me lose 30lbs! Thank you so much for what you do!
This is awesome! Question, do you only prep for lunch or dinner as well?
@@jing8134 Dunno about him, but I've been meal prepping all 3 meals + dessert and I've lost 10 pounds in a little over a month.
This video is just perfect.
Hits every point on the head.
Subscribed so that I don't lose this recipe.
Cheers.
I think I might try this recipe out. Looks good and easy to make
added to my fav prep list. looks sooo good.
I love the content, you’ve helped me on my bulk and my cut so many times🔥
I'm totally binging your content. Have so many ideas for meal preps now!
Made this for lunch this week, thanks for the recipe!
Just made this myself last night - great recipe! I used flour as a thickener instead of corn starch, but I don't recommend it. Made it a pain to thicken - worth the purchase of corn starch if you don't have it around already like I did.
I'm about to make this. Looks delicious
I just made this and i must say this is incredible! Thank you a million times for this!!!
So simple! Definitely will try this one. Thank you!
Try using mashed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes to cut the calories even further. Tastes just as good and even easier to make!
celery root too!
A 50/50 split
Tastes as good is just lying to yourself
@@Zymiful 💯0000000000000% 😂
Ew
Just a convenience tip. I use the kitchen aid with paddle attachment to mash my potatoes. Don’t over mix! 😊
Perfect timing, thank you! 👌🏻
I’m really enjoying your high volume low calorie Coach Greg Doucette style of eating thank you very much I can’t wait to make this one!
Looking forward to making this next week
Just made this. It was yummy! I always loved pot pie as a kid but mostly for the crust. I haven't eaten them much as an adult, mostly for that reason. I omitted the bouillon (I bought some from the store just to try this recipe but there were too many weird ingredients in the Knorr brand so I ended up leaving it out) and it was still tasty. I also didn't have a potato masher on hand (in storage) and would have just mashed them with a fork but took the suggestions of some of the commenters to use my food processor. It worked ok but they came out a tad bit too gooey...still yummy (I ate way more of the mashed potatoes than I should have) but I would advise others to be careful not to over-mix if you try that technique...Finally, I did not have a stand mixer (also in storage) so I ended up using the two-fork method. This took forever so I will definitely make sure to have my stand mixer available before making this dish again. Thumbs up from me!
So excited to try this recipe!
I’ve been adding collagen peptides at the very end to thicken up things like this. Extra protein too
Just made this and it’s so good!! Mine ended up being 540 kcals and 48g of protein per serving (I also divided into 5).
if you want a more macro friendly potatoes I found that yukon golds are super creamy on their own so what I do is add in one egg per pound of yukon gold and beat them briefly in the stand mixer. makes it fluffy and creamy and lower calories then using butter and milk
This looks absolutely delicious! Thank you!!!!
Really great idea. I'll definitely add this to my list of things to try!
another great recipe! if you're going to be making mashed potatoes more in the future, i highly recommned getting a potato ricer. You'll have the smoothest mashed potatoes ever and makes mashing SIGNIFICANTLY easier
I do pretty much the same thing with the chicken but I pressure can it with the vegetables in pint jars so it's shelf stable for years. Tasty and easy to take to work and just pop the lid off and eat. Great for road trips, no refrigeration needed, everything cooks together during the canning process. Being shelf stable I'll alternate dishes, chicken, beef, pork, soup, stew etc. I'll can up 20 pints a week of different meals and switch them around.
Okay. I’m definitely making this this week
Made this today, came out really nice
These meals are a godsend.
Family loved it
Definitely trying this recipe this week!
I still think you hold the fork like a madman!
Or caveman 😂
Head to a garage sale / yard sale / tag sale, etc for a potato masher. I have my great grandma's and it works like a champ!
I made this. Delicious and shockingly filling
man i love this dude
This was awesome I’m gonna make! Thanks
I'll try this over the weekend!
A metal whisk is a great substitute for a potato masher. I've been using a whisk for years it saves space in my limited storage space.
These look great!
My favorite part of these videos is that green bowl.
This is another great version of pot pie , they had this "home base" thing everybody was talking about that was created 5 years ago they did with certain people in my state . But , I'm sure when it is done and some people are allowed to resume normal life again this will definitely be on the top of the list of one of the meals that they will try. Great job on video Josh Cortis!
Please tell me more about home base?
@@lizziewahl It was based off something people started and came up were I live forcing people to be in positions were one of them was cooking in extreme conditions outside . Lots of people knew about it but they didn't actually didn't want to do it. Basically in a very short version to explain. It happened over extensive period of time around 5 years. No clue what the positive was to it. But since they shared with a lot of people that told me. Didn't know what home base was at that time either. Have a wonderful day> :)))
Your meals are simply the best man and the videos are made very efficiently, not drawn out for longer viewing. Thanks
Another good one by chef!
Chicken, pot, and pie! 3 of my favorites
Nice. This one's definitely going on the list for next week's meal prep. Starting to get tired of my chicken & rice bowls every meal.
Amazing! Will try this!! Also, try adding some garlic powder to the mash potatoes! Can’t go wrong
Perfect timing since I’m trying to cut myself. I’ll make this recipe sometime this week.
Josh, put together a list of things you need because I’ll be coming to Austin in April and I’ll gladly bring you a potato masher or anything else you need! Lol
Please don't cut yourself!

I don't have anything else to say but TAHNK YOU for the effort and free recipes
Looks great. I love garlic, so I go to town with garlic powder when I make mashed potatoes
I have switched from cornstartch to Xanthum Gum for thickening sauces just srinke ans wisk in the powder and give it a mix. I found it with and reheating a bit better and doesnt brake in the reheating like corn startch can.
Idk maybe use the stand mixer to mash the potatoes??? See if it would work.. why not? 🤷♀️ sometimes, I use a fork. 😂
You actually never want to use a stand or electric mixer for mashed potatoes. It overworks the starches and makes them gluey. I wish you could, but as a mashed potato connoisseur it's not recommended.
I had to use the stand mixer for the chicken though and I didn’t want to wash it haha. I also don’t like using machines for mashed potatoes because overmixing them can cause the starches from the potatoes to make a gluey mash
@@TheMealPrepManual good to know! I typically use my hand mixer.
It's a big no-no it changes the mashed potatoes big time into something waxy and yuck
I think this is your best recipe yet. Its tasty and filling and the perfect amount of calories for me
Thank you 🫡
FYI, you can mash your potatoes with your stand mixer or a hand mixer. 😊👍🏾🍽
just made this off eyeballing it. taste great really simple.
Some poultry seasoning wouldn't be bad on the shredded chicken. Helps deepen the flavor.
This looks amazing! Shocked at how few calories it is for such a big portion
What a cool idea
Hey, I just wanted to confirm that this dish reheats great from the freezer. I'm definitely going to be making more of these in the future.
Great to hear!
Great video!!
The only thing I would do differently here is add garlic to them papas. This sounds 💥AMAZING💥
Thanks, you're the best 😀
Gracias por tanto brodi
Looks really good 👍
I love watching your videos
Thank you 🫡🫡
Quick tip for making the mashed potatoes: add the butter and stir so it melts before adding the milk.
My one year olds favorite food on earth is chicken pot pie, this week be great when he's old enough to go to school
Very nice. Think for myself I'll add more butter for higher calorie and substitute milk in the potatoes
Good videos, well explained. The way he holds a fork.
I like using giant forks for mashing potatoes. A Ricer works well too.
There is also a big chicken grinder thing. It’s like a weed grinder for shredding chicken
Looks great. Wish it came sooner before I bought and planned my food for the coming week. At least I know what’s coming the following week though. ;)
That looks delicious
Yo Josh, I'd absolutely love to see some vids on home sacues, salsa, guac, tahani. Lots of recipes use Greek yogurt without olive oil to minimize calories
This was so good. Lasted my family of three 2 meals.
I would brown the chicken over high heat first, then add the veggies, and return the browned chicken to the pot before adding stock. Will add a lot of flavor to your veggies
This looks great, a think some thyme would be a nice touch when I cook it!!
You can use an electric hand mixer to "whip" up some mashed potatoes. Many people actually prefer it to mashing them. I'm sure you could use that stand mixer since it's already dirty from the chicken
This is godlike
Thank you so very much. I made this last night along with your asian ground turkey bowls and 5 portions of porridge. Not a body builder, just a middle aged social worker not wanting to get fat or spend forever cooking and cleaning up after myself. I ruined my first lot of rice but it was worth staying up late to get some very tasty balanced meals with lots of meat and veg all prepared so I can enjoy my meals and my spare time (and save money). Really, I can't thank you enough. Next week I'm planning on making chicken pancit and something with minced beef.
this is a good recipe
Use the stand mixer to mix the potato's, then do the chicken in that. Stand mixers are fantastic for mashing potato's
If you want the onion to brown you should cook it by itself before adding the carrot. The carrot prevents it from browning.
You can convert the cornstarch slurry with xanthan gum slurry, it's about x10 more potent so even more macro friendly.
I use my stand mixer for making mashed potatoes.
I had to use the stand mixer for the chicken and I didn’t want to wash it in between haha. I also prefer mashing by hand because overmixing them can cause the starches from the potatoes to make a gluey mash which is easier to do in a machine
