The first thing to do was to change the cells for new ones with good voltage and ,much more, some milliamps in it. Here you get only 1,8V for the 2 cells in serie and it's really not enough : you must have between 2,5 and 3 volts. If not, the phone cannot run.
I know -if it had been worth anything I would have been more careful. Even if I'd managed to repair it it would have just sat in my office and I don't mind scratched stuff!
It was old, it was broken and if I hadn't thought it would make an interesting little video I would have just thrown it away. Having said that, if I'd known the video would get as many views as it has I would have made more effort to repair it.

I only got 1.8 volts with good charged up cells. This was because something in the phone electronics was faulty and drawing a lot of current.

Encantado de que te haya gustado.
Thank you for showing us on what we have to look at...Most time it's a mosfet or a capacitor
I agree. Maybe I should have put a bit more time into trying to repair it - not so easy without a schematic though!

Yes. I'm afraid I didn't even attempt to repair mine.

Gosh, opening the case with a screwdriver! You're scratching all the surface. Better you watch others how to do that.

This thing is not meant to be opened and it is a PITA to do. It's a pity because the product is pretty good and cheap.
