- In this video we show you how to install one of our Shadow® V2 Overflows onto an aquarium. We show you our technique on how we install the Shadow Overflow. Everyone's system will be different, so use this video as a general guide on how to install it properly.
This video assumes that you have already drilled your aquarium or had a reputable tank builder do it for you. The alignment procedure is very important for a leak free system. It is simple to do.
All of the components in the video can be purchased directly from our website synergyreef.com
As always if you need any assistance, feel free to contact us directly and we will be happy to help.

At the end you should’ve shown how to tune the over flow with the gate valve. Or the elbows needed for the different pipes. Just a suggestion.
We will have another video showing this procedure. That is a whole video in of it self. Thanks for the suggestion.
Are the bulkheads in the overflow box removable or are they molded construction?
They are one piece molded into the box to eliminate leaks.
I have a 240 gallon 8x2x2 aquarium and I’m trying to figure out my best options for set up. It’s going to be a fresh water predator tank so I need lots of flow. I’m wondering if one of these boxes will be sufficient mounted in the middle. Or if I possibly need two boxes about two feet in on each side. With returns in the middle? I’ve been looking at other options as well. What do you recommend for overflow, and placement of box and returns.. Pumps rated at 3600, doesn’t mean I need to use it maxed out. Help me out..All comments welcome. Thanks!
You need to determine what your flow rate will be to your sump. Then you can decide if you will need 1 or 2 overflows. Each overflow can handle up to 2500 GPH. That pump with head pressure loss will be under 2500 GPH, unless it is a pressure rated pump. It really depends on how you plumb your system and what flow you want to achieve in your design. More overflows are going to allow for more flow out of the system.
lol 450 for a plastic box.. Reefers are a special kind of breed... shameless pricing
