    The magnets giving limited resistance but still give with pressure is why this works so well

    Could probably make a snap fit to the rods so you don’t need a second piece to hold it in, also just make the hinge piece flat against the base with 45deg fillet and no supports needed. It’s okay if it is offset from the main body, still would function fine
