Wow One of the best video on RUclips explaining about powder coating and showing how do they do . This video should have crossed in million views .obviously only men watch this kind of video thank you very much
This has to be the best informational and entertaining video. Not only is it easy to understand but the editing of the video is hilarious but that's what makes it genuine and fun to watch.
Thanks so much for responding to me. Your answer is exactly what I thought happened to me. BBB is responding and with pictures before and after of the work they didn't do , it should be helpful. I know BBB can't make them do anything but it's the principle of what happened that matters now. Thanks again!
if you guys were in vancouver canada you could never get rid of me..love the vid..great info..intelligent spokesperson..wonderful product..good luck and thumbs up
Nice job, am setting up a powder coating plant in Nairobi, Kenya; and i have learnt a lot from your video. Will keep in touch just in case we get stuck up. Thanks a lot for the video.
Prep is a pain but needs to be done. When people actually see the whole process I go threw they are amazed on the patience I have lol I have A.D.D really bad and powder coating and motocross are my calm points in life. Both take a lot of patience and work but the end result is always awesome. My goal is to get a larger oven this year, they are expensive but you can do a lot more with them. Great vid bye the way
I got to tell you that was really some cool information you really are educated in this field and I appreciate the time you took two produced this video thanks
good eye buddy! that was our old shop and was a real problem with cross contamination and dust. our new facility is completely separate and no open doors on side and stuff, that one had been a warehouse that was not suitable for powder coating... come by if you are in South Florida anytime.
Nice nice set up have a really bad back injury need to change my career I think I’m gonna become a powder coder pretty up-to-date with technology I’ve built everything and I’m gonna try and do this great video guys
I saw your ad on a home magazine but never in the car scene in South Florida. You guys need to get connected to some of the big meets like the BizSpeed events. The powder coater my friends and I used is a joke. I'll have to give you guys a call when I'm ready to get my wheels powder coated.
This was a true one on one experience, I felt like this guy was staring into my soul lmao the editing had me dying 😆😂🤣🔥🔥 absolutely amazing video, very informative and you guys do excellent work. I wish you nothing but success and happiness 👍🏼☺️☺️
Thanks @paddmanz , this was a long time ago lol.. our oven is 25 x 12 now!! I will put a video of our new setup next week :) thanks for the love brother
Check our new informational video all about powder coating!! From prep to finish, we show you how do it all. Feel free to comment and contact us with any questions
If the rim is sufficiently scratched in multiple places if you just re-bake the powder coat will those scratches diminish or can you just grind it lightly re-spray it and then re-bake it
Does your powder booth have some sort of vacuum/recovery set up to easily collect over spray? If so would be very interesting to see a video of how that works. Nicely done by the way.
I tried to powder coating myself the results were pretty good, but somehow I got the pertalite the color of the powder coating became dull and soft. what was the error in my work?
Is the same media used for all metals? I'm doing it from home and not sure if I can use extra fine coal slag or have to move to more expensive glass bead media for aluminum wheels/timing covers.
i like your set up so don't think im having a swipe , but surely from a production point of view would you not process 4 x wheels at a time instead of 2 , also turn your powder down you have to much air to powder ratio set on your machine, but i like you guys looks good keep up the good work
Nice job, but I don't understand why you powdercoat near the sandblasting cabinet and in open field, instead in a separate room. Even a good blasting cabinet it will make dust when you open the door to remove the blasted part. I know because I own also a business like yours and I found tiny particles of dust in my paint when I did testing. Now I operate blasting in another room.
You can mostly avoid small dust going outside of sandblasting cabinet using an air extraction in it. The point is if it making a little negative pressure inside of the camera and wait for a little bit after finishing sandblasting there will be no dust (or quite few of it). But I mostly agree with you. As for me, I have two rooms to avid the problems - one for abrasive working and finishing and another for painting.
Awesome video...you for sure know what you are doing. Here is a problem i have encountered, I did not see built up powder at the end of my gun fall onto the primary cover i was coating. When it came out of curing of course it now has 5-6 build up looking drops or where it was over coated. The finish is really great every where else except that one spot (about a 3-4" circumference). Am i able to light sand that area and recoat it again, or will i have to take and strip it all and re-shoot?
No u can sand it down, clean it up, and reheat it, then recoat and cure again and should be fine. Yea it happens, sometimes you can see it if you check the parts with LED light before curing.
Business owner: "Remind me why we are going out of our way to demonstrate on video, for free, every detail about how our business operates which will inevitably result in potential customers realizing that they can do this work themselves and/or help create competitors in our already crowded industry?" Employee : " You know, because like, RUclips is cool!"
can someone explain to me why that huge amount of powder applied at 45:30 doesn't lay in the bottom of the rim. Charged or not, gravity should just have there be a pile there.
Because the powder melts back down when hitting the oven..the rim should be heated to 385 then taken out and sprayed you'll see its dull then turns shiny that's the powder literally melting
Teach your boy how to properly install rims so he’s not warping rotors. you never go in a circle always in a a cris cross pattern Tip from an ASE certified technician.
That and he sprayed the back side of the wheel hub. False torque specs, its crushing powder instead of metal to metal contact. Surprised the hub fit too, these guys are wack lol
Is the color white harder to powder coat or adhere to whatever you are painting? I had a outdoor swing powder coated and when I picked up the swing it was warm and a dull color. Once I put it in my front yard I sat in it and once I got up I noticed that it looked like the color had gotten dull. I thought it came off on my pants. I was so upset with the people that did the work I didn't take it back to them because they kept it and kept it for over 8 weeks and kept telling me they were having problems with their oven as the reason for the delay.
Hi Jerry, white is one of the original powder coating colors, its probable they did not prep properly or cure for long enough. otherwise they powder coated it and then spray painted over it.. happens all the time when guys rush work, if you're local feel free to swing by, Mario
awesome job on the video and info. I have a question. Can a 2 color process be done? I want to get my mountain bike coated but it will require blk and red.
Hola soy de chile, me interesa mucho su trabajo, por lo que me di cuenta también hablan español, si pudieran realicen el mismo video en español, seria muy interesante y de una buena ayuda..........gracias.........Pedro Rodríguez
Hello, banshee frame sandblasted and powder coated will be $350, group all the other small parts and we give you a good price for everything. 954-399-8796
I am getting new rims and would like to powder coat them, they are all one piece, which finish would be best to buy them to then take them to you? satin black , gunmetal or chrome? i would like to powder coat them candy red. I know chrome has a great finish but you strip the chrome so best advice would be great
Installed wheel lug nuts incorrectly. Should be crossed torqued. Ane ferric oxide powder comes from IRON not aluminum. Thanks for a great powder coat video.
people dont realize powder coating is "IMPACT" resistant and not scratch resistant .. you can hit it with 20 lb sledge and not mar the surface but place it on the concrete and push it across the floor and it will tear the fuck out of the coating. and is not the fault of the coating or application simply trying to expect it to do something it wasn't designed to do. if there is a coating out there that protects it against abrasion its gonna be very very very expensive .. they painted bull dozers with emron decades ago.. now its not used as its not environmentally friendly
You know the guy that titan the lugnuts on that blue car in your shop needs to learn how to titan lugnuts the guy titan in a round Circle the right way is in a star pattern or every other one. Other than that looks like you all do nice work.

The best part is the spanglish and the i am hungry part
I do marine work in Pompano... after watching this video I'm giving these guys a shot.
The guy speaking in this video is smart, informative and very professional. Good Job Man!!!!!!
Powder guns give NEGATIVE charges to the paint. Not positive like the guy says.
If it was a professional he would have taped off the back or vacuum cleaned it
Super knowledgable and to the point. This guy knows his stuff inside and out.
Fantastic explanation, the guy is confident af. Well done bro.
Just a few days into powder coating for an assembly line, already learned a lot that will help me in the future. Very good video.

How many times does he have to torque them lug nuts, he forsure stripped them all
Can all aluminum rims be powdercoated and me not have to worry about warping?

what would be the cost for a hard tail bike fram
They are silently waiting.....patiently......patiently.......till they hear this.....0:27
can someone explain to me why that huge amount of powder applied at 45:30 doesn't lay in the bottom of the rim. Charged or not, gravity should just have there be a pile there.
Theres a vacuum behind the booth sucking up the excess
Yes but that can't pull the powder from inside the rim. It just picks up the power that misses the rim.
Because the powder melts back down when hitting the oven..the rim should be heated to 385 then taken out and sprayed you'll see its dull then turns shiny that's the powder literally melting
Could you blast and powder coat a 1996 car hood?

What kind of oven do you use?
If you see the video to the end, you will clearly see the brand name of the oven.
At 1st I thought it was just a badass looking Prius
people dont realize powder coating is "IMPACT" resistant and not scratch resistant .. you can hit it with 20 lb sledge and not mar the surface but place it on the concrete and push it across the floor and it will tear the fuck out of the coating. and is not the fault of the coating or application simply trying to expect it to do something it wasn't designed to do. if there is a coating out there that protects it against abrasion its gonna be very very very expensive .. they painted bull dozers with emron decades ago.. now its not used as its not environmentally friendly

Ah man that color @5:52 looks siq! Makes me want to take off whole body pannels, prep them and send them to you hah!
I wonder if, 6 years on, the company is still doing business?
Anyone else catch the phrase, 'we use a ferric oxide made from aluminum'. I'm trying to figure out the alchemy they used to convert aluminum to iron.
Action
at the start thought you about to do some MMA at me

you should be painting them hot for best results
He said he was painting them at 100 deg. You have to be more specific when you say "hot."
