After a long and emotional weekend, it felt nice coming back to school. I am so grateful that I feel healthy enough physically and mentally to keep doing what I love and truly never take it for granted. I just accepted my first teaching position as a middle school special education teacher! Throughout my entire college experience I never ever thought I’d want to work with middle schoolers. When you were talking about how as teachers we have to be excited about all the colors, it reminded me of my everyday life as a preschool teacher. If a boy gets something pink you have to be like “Ooh PINK!! Like a pig or a flamingo!”
Aww yes! I try to teach them that colors are colors that we can love for what they are instead of what “gender norms” have taught us

Ms. Brittany, Colors always inspire me to write stories. Every color has a story and a lesson behind it. I often colors as symbols in my stories and poems. I love paint cards and the beauty of nature. I am sure that your senses project would have been an assignment that I enjoyed with all of my heart. I have had a tiresome week in school, but writing is my solace as I let the words pour from my fingers and imagination. I love you

I’m student teaching with fourth graders. I’m sure it’s a different ball park than sophomores in English class! I hope you do amazing in student teaching! ❤️ Classroom management is always tough at first totally!

how do you come up with such awesome projects?! i’m only a senior in high school right now but when i’m with my future students i want to have some project ideas and i am having trouble coming up with some projects. i LOVE the whole idea of the senses! i want to teach American Sign Language so I would have all my students sign everything but i love love love that idea!
