For anyone getting started with p2p. the 3x3 controller shown here is a great setup and can give you up to 2304 channels with p2p. More than you'll need in most modded scenarios honestly
I just understood channels in 7 and a half minutes. I've been avoiding ae2 for years because of how complicated I thought it was to manage channels. Thanks, that was short and informative.
very good tutorial! an extra note from me, you can't carry p2p channel through another p2p channel. (haven't tested it in newest version tho, so cmiiw)
Honestly, that second setup was so clean for understanding how P2P would function in a real build. Channels have always been so hard to comprehend, and I definitely like the way you describe them. I wish the mod did a SLIGHTLY better job tutorializing them, since they're such a unique concept in a block game lol
I had watched many P2P tutorials on AE2 and thanks to your vid I finally understand. Those colours worked wonders, I couldn’t wrap my head around the subnet being an “extension” but I now understand. Thank you so much!
Fantastic explanation! I’ve been trying to wrap my head around this for some time now. This was a great visualization. I’m going to try this out in my ATM9 server instead of trying to survive off of 32 channels.
showing the example and also for some reason having your "drive" room and crafting room lead far off made it easier to digest on how your main network is sub neting out to the other lines.
Maybe I'm just not understanding properly, but at 5:02ish it is mentioned that you can carry up to 1,024 channels across the dense smart cable, but aren't you capped by the amount of p2p tunnels on the main controller? So in that set-up, you would have 256 channels available in that dense smart cable right? Is the 1,024 number just the absolute limit if you can set up enough p2p tunnels to fill all 32 channels of the cable?
Thats finally made things clear for me. Now im gonna turn my one-controller me system into a simulation of the world wide web of the earth in the year 3000
This is a very good tutorial. Thank you for that. The only thing I don't understand is why I need a seperate controller to connect the incoming cables to. In my world, Im connecting the dense cables carrying the p2p tunnel channels directly to the main network controller.

@@TheGunzbeep-TG Glad I was able to help!
Exactly this. I watched 3 different videos, and they kinda just left me more confused, but this one explains it perfectly and quickly.
The most straightforward p2p tunnel tutorial I think I’ve ever seen, serious respect
@@GINGER2407-DEV thanks!
Is the controller in the sub network really required?
@jeffrbake it allows you to have more channels on the subnetwork. only necessary if you want more channels
@@DrKrosYT gotcha, thanks for the reply

Thank you so much for this! The quartz fiber with fluix glass in middle fixed my problem!

Thanks man, you made this finally make freakin sense.....

first one that can actually explain stuff. this is soooo goood

Keep it up, great tutorial!
That’s actually awesome thank you
Ahhh so the storage does stay o. The same network if it’s using the last example. I was baffled cause I thought it was always seperate
thanks so thats how you do it normally lol, AE extended and AE-add ons spoiled me
I cant Right click on the p2p, it's keeps saying "memory cleared" and i dont know what to do, i"m seriously stuck.
need to sneak right click. that should solve your issue
What's that alternate hotbar you have?
honestly i dont even know what mod it is from. i think the control for it is called “Swap Hotbar”
@@DrKrosYT i think that is from the quark mod
what if we connect p2p to p2p?
Listen here you little sh...
this setup maxes out the available faces of the controller, you cant add more channels
