Yes! That data pack would be incredible. It’s just inconvenient to have to run back and forth to the Chipped tables all the time, so if it could be done with Create, it’d be a life-saver.
35:00, there's a similarish feature with AE2, where you can enable restocking from your storage system to your inventory, it should be in controls under AE2
Just a heads up on the auto crafting of the cable anchors/knife - Make sure fuzzy mode is enabled on the knife pattern so it will reuse (ignores the damage nbt data) an existing one until it breaks so it isnt crafting a new one all the time. Put the pattern back in the pattern terminal, and check the buttons in the UI for this mode.
one BIG tip that you should be aware of is that you should make a few rows of 1k, 4k and 16k storage cells, because even the 256k ones dont store more that 63 types of items..

Having this Data Pack would be perfect. I literally spend half my build prep time chipping blocks, which sucks. ALso your base and builds are truly inspirational. Keep it up man.
32:22 : Lil' tidbit that may be of use to save channels: you can use the priority system to force your AE network to store stuff in barrels first if there's one that fit. This means you don't need to put an exporter for your drawers! Priority is based on numbers, so iirc bigger number = higher priority. On the reverse you can use smaller or even negative numbers to create an "overflow" of sorts. Storage bus _are_ smart enough to figure out what can and cannot be stored, so a storage bus with a 100 priority on a empty drawer locked on obsidian will not try to insert cobblestone or andesite in the locked drawer. Food for thoughts...
AE2 has some of the most complex tutorials I've ever seen. I was struggling to get the inscriber set up in a compact way that didn't require an engineering degree. Like 3 minutes looking at your design and I got the whole shebang working perfectly in a tiny area. So simplistic, I love it.
Absolutely brilliant. I love how this new phase is futuristic compared to the other areas. Plus the work with the trucks is The volume of work is incredible. Thanks for bringing us this content Foxy!
32:20, i dont think you need an export bus if you have a storage bus as well, just set the storage bus priority higher than the drives are and the items will go into there first
also the AE2 drives store 63 different items, so the higher upgraded storage disks aren't super worth it unless you're making a lot of an item, you probably want to stay around 4-16k drives
4:51 If you can put those warp plates on top of hoppers and the hoppers don’t pull out the warp stone, that would be an amazing way to get stuff moved around!
On the Glowstone and Redstone, it's better to use an ME Storage Interface, and you set it up with high priority (set it up at like 1000), so you'll extract from it last, and input into it first. This leaves your disks clean, and uses only 1 connection to import/export the items from the drawers. As a side note, I'm not sure if the interface works directly on a drawer, or if it needs a drawer controller to work. edit: I think the way you set up the anchors, you're going to end up with A TON of extra knives.
AE2 provides its own generators in the form of vibration chambers. They run off of furnace fuel and i believe are slightly better than alternators. and yes, being able to automate chipped (even with only create) would be very useful.
Loving the progress in this series! It’s kinda cool seeing the series go from create mod, being a more steampunk style way of adding energy and automation of tech, to being a wireless and more modern/futuristic way of doing this stuff, I’m super excited to see where this series goes! I love the long haul style truck build too, half hoping it was from my comment in one of the last vids 😆
To save channels, you can also used an external storage, connect it to a storage drawer controller, and anything that is in the storage drawer network will be inside your AE system, without having to make hundreds of storage cells.
I think it would be cool if you kept the wires in the floor in the server room and put tinted glass in the facades to make them feel like a part of the design
I would really like that Datapack. Its super useful and pretty impressive how you made it. How long did it take you? I have some experience coding mods so I believe this would take a long time. Really Impressive! Loved the video!
Did you know in the UK we drive on the left hand side as when people had horses most people were right handed so when battling on the horses they would attack with sword in their right hand.
This mod: "Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals" adds an infinite range module i believe for the wireless terminal and more allows you to create an universal terminal (or what it is called cant really remember) which is basically a pattern encoding terminal, pattern access terminal and crafting terminal in one.
This was a great episode! So fun!!!! Also super cool on the data pack. Nice addition. Making those Chipped blocks automatable was great. Also also I totally agree on the non fun nature of AE channels. I get why you didn't add infinite right this moment but yeah I totally get it if you did. But yeah, great episode! thanks.
So I'm an electrician and love watching different things around wiring, that 32c cable sounds like a superconductor which is very special compared to your everyday cable.
with the concern of bulk storage of a single item with AE2, the ME systems are designed for bulk storage priority, it uses more drive space having little numbers of many things than lots of one thing, its a very nice system, once you get a bunch of drives in there will be 0 issues aslong as you make sure the drives are being made and put in, the drive room looks perfect for a long term large bulk storage, i tend to survive off 4 drive bays full of 64k drives for a entire playthrough [estimated ingame day count of: 1000-1500] it should be much easier to stray from the storage draws and use AE2 as all the linking is much less limited, aslong as you channel manage well it should be perfectly fine, AE2 & Create are indeed the dream team when it comes to automation
18:18 if you want to prevent that weird snapping, you change the mode of the barring to only lock at original angle. there is also an option for when it moving it doesn't snap ever
On 1.19.2 it's called GoProne, on 1.20+ it's called Crawl on Demand... The mod makes a keybind (which you can either choose the held or toggle in the options menu) to crawl on demand instead of needing a trap door.
you can add rechiseled mod and rechiseled create. it adds a thing that is portable chipped tables. And with this addon to create you can automate chipped tables
To save on drives and channels, you can put a storage bus with a high priority on a drawer controller. High priority means the items will be sent there first instead of into the drives and it reads the contents of all your drawers in your drawer network. Hope this helps you on saving channels 😅
Hey Foxy, when you use drawers to store items, you can use the storage interface from ae2 at set a higher priority so items that have a space in the drawers wil go there first (ps: you can os put one storage bus on a drawer controller so you can see All you drawers in the system)
Seeing that datapack makes me consider an idea for a Create addon where it adds 2 saws (maybe a 3rd one for Chipped blocks?), 1 for the stonecutting recipes and another for the common often automated uses like making planks, or shafts. I haven't thought about it more than that nor do I have the motivation to learn programming so the idea's not gonna be a thing.
Hey just a quick tip, while trading and a trade is chosen, you can press spacebar to refill the trade option without clicking it or the items in your inventory. You don't even need to move your mouse
Biggest issue with automating cable anchors is the minute the durability drops on a kn!fe it’ll create a new one filling your system ups with partly used kn!fes
You don't need the high-number storage disks very much. Each disk, no matter what size, can only hold 63(?) different *types* of items. The size just says how many of that kind can be stored. You only need a few large disks for bulk item storage, but otherwise you're better off just having a ton of 1-4k drives
38:26 Quick warning: you might continue to craft those quartz cutting knives for each anchor recipe. That will quickly choke out your inventory space. The recipe needs a zero durability quartz cutting knife every time - it won’t use a knife with ANY damage.
Love the episode and would love the data pack for the Chipped/Create compatibility as I run both of those in my modded world and it would make things so much easier
At 31:40, you're not "wasting space" on your storage disks, but you ARE wasting channels by separating all of the storage drawers. You can hookup a storage bus to a drawer controller and link your drawers together, and the ME system will see all of the drawers with no issues.
Would be nice to see how you got the dump truck and lorry both to swivel in the middle on the "train" side of the contraption. I can get single trucks like your delivery van and Beardstones's little flatbed to work but not jointed vehicles.
You should be able to use the storage drawers with the storage interface to the Drawer controller. Also there use to be a trick to use the storage interfaces to only use 1 channel for all the drives if you tile it.

Okay. I just have to say.... Putting a disk storage on the dense cable uses a channel. Take a smaller cable and put it on a dense cable and then that small cable can handle 8 devices and will one use 1 channel on the dense cable.
You don't need to put the big cable on the rack, the big cables are good just to connect a lot of small cable, considering on each rail you put only 2 rack , a normal cable is enough, connected to medium cable and then big cable in the middle. Things with on farms that took a lot of space, better using the drawers with input and output things etc.

Another vote for the chipped data pack! That would be amazing!
It would be so nice to have that, chipped is a great mod and there's not a lot of support for automatically crafting all the blocks it adds.

That building is officially an evil Pokemon team HQ with all those warps
pretty sure to truly qualify for a pokemon evil team HQ, the warps have to be confusing.
