After having shot on canon, Panasonic, and blackmagic, I have settled back in to canon, and it would take ALOT for me to switch. Credit where credit is due, though. Sony does make an incredible cameras, and they've only gotten better, but for us, Canon just makes the most sense. 2 C70's and 1 R7 roll with me to EVERY wedding, all in 1 SKB case.
Made the switch from Panasonic to Sony, and I won't look back either. I am using the A7siii, and it has changed the way I film weddings! I do still use a gimbal for ceremonies I just find it's a little smoother and I am able to capture things better. Great video!
For screw on ND's, NiSi True Color VND is by far the best you can get at the moment. Basically almost zero color cast compared to the other "popular" ones like Polar Pro, Freewell, and Moment which definitely have color casts.
By the time all of those came out, and didn’t have overheating, I had already switched. But the main reason was I didn’t really love the c70 and it was still too big.
Been Sony Since 2012, there was a lot of growing pains but it's pretty undeniable now that Sony is hast stolen the crown from Canon. Back in the day People used to laugh at me, give me shocked "SONY!?" when they asked if I shot canon or Nikon, pretty satisfying now though!
i've always thought the arrogant ones were canon users, right up there w/ apple fanbois. 😂 i won't look back after switching from canon to sony in 2016, starting w/ the a7sii and now the a7siii.
@@HowToFilmWeddings yes they are more expensive but I find with the cheaper ones you can get weird banding issues in the video if the filter is not sitting in the right spot especially if the filter doesn't have designated stops (clicks). I would be interested in knowing what other filters people are using
What do you shoot? 👇
I would love to see a what’s in my bag video with your new setup.
Great idea, and it is on my list!

ill have to check those out!
Great to know, thank you Richard!
I'll second this! Very very good VND.
That a big move. Ever tempted to go back to Canon? I’m really debating between a canon r6 and a Sony a7iv
John, I just got my FX3! I did buy an additional battery (the official Sony brand), have you tried any other off brand batteries on the FX3 yet?
Welcome to the "but... you're shooting in the dark!" side... 🤣🤣
Haha! Yes!!
where can i find examples of your work?
hey there! I am just about to release my first main film used on the Sony in the next couple of days. Find JohnBunnFilms on IG or on web!
I'd be curious to know why you landed on those Sony's as opposed to a pairing like the C70 and R5C?
By the time all of those came out, and didn’t have overheating, I had already switched. But the main reason was I didn’t really love the c70 and it was still too big.
Welcome to the dark side...or at 12800, the 'light' side 😉
haha!
no EVF on FX3. Getting a Sony A7SIII and FX6. Staying with Canon also.
I have both the Fx3 and the a7siii, and found myself NEVER using the EVF, so next weekend I am using the FX3 as my main camera
But doesn't the C70 have 10 bit colour?
What pp did you find works best for you?
S-log all day baby!! I love it
H&Y Filters RevoRing Variable ND3 - ND1000 & Circular Polarizer Filter
I have the s3 & r4 & use the Nisi true colour vario filters & love them, no artefacts or colourcasts.
Thank you!
For ND’s I’d suggest the Polar Pro Peter Mckinnon VND’s these are great.
Thanks!

Trendsetter!

We're all aboard the Sony train!
