I have a lot of respect for this great collection. You can tell these are the games that made the gamer John is today. Unlike collector's that go for completion and chase after uncommon title's, this is just his personal collection that he's grown over the years. Thank you Johnny for this video it was awesome!
It's amazing how many people equate a huge collection to a quality collection. As a former "collector" I would bet money that most people who collect games for the sake of it haven't finished a fourth of what they own. People here talking about being disappointed because this room wasn't filled floor to ceiling all the way around with games just don't get it. Also, I'm GLAD this collection isn't in some arbitrary order. Everybody does that, it's boring. It's like looking around a library. I sold off several hundred games to have a room more like Johnny's. I quit worrying about how much I had and how it looked on the shelf, and I just started buying and playing games that I loved. Quality > quantity. End of story.
I'm actually lucky enough to actually step foot in this room and see it for myself. Even though you may poke fun about how disorganized some of the things are, but I think the more important thing is that every item in this room is something you have an emotional attachment to and it really shows because too many video game collectors own things that they'll never play or appreciate but looking at all the stuff in that room are things you have played and enjoyed and have given you a memory you'll always treasure. I also noticed the copy of the world ends with you on your shelf that I sent you. Don't know if you had a chance to play it, but hopefully you'll enjoy it when you do play it.
Dear Johnny, two things I seriously adore about your fantastic gaming room: 1. you can clearly see it's YOUR room, with the games that YOU love. Not just some random games bought to complete a collection. 2. it's a GAMING room! It's obvious you play games there all the time and as good as everything is still being played. You have no system to collect the games, it's just chaos and I love that. If you're in the mood to play a game from your youth, just pick one out. This is my idea of a gaming room! Thanks for the video John!
Loved this video. It is nice to see a game room that is frequently used and personally meaningful. It is way more authentic than some of those pristine, museum-like rooms that are more monuments to disposable income than they are to a love of gaming. That snake pit of controllers is hysterical. I had the same issue, but then I decided use those giant ziploc bags to sort them by system. Really solved the problem and I can still locate the controllers and start playing pretty quickly.
Love this video! I like the way its just YOUR organisation, there's no clean, pretentious show off order. A lot of game room tours that I've seen look all the same and generic. its likely that most don't even play their games! You can tell there's a lot of passion and genuine memories by looking and listening to this video.
I personally organize my collection by company, console, and alphabetical order but that's me. I also have a few areas for specific series. The room tour kind of takes the magic out of the room. I always had this impression of a massive game room. I guess the lighting and camera angles really do wonders. You have some fantastic gems in your collection. It's honestly a collection of games you love or have memories of, not simply filler to stuff your collection. This game room is for you and it represents you. That's the impression I got.
everything you have screams one thing more than anyone else i know of on youtube. it screams i love and play video games. we see so many perfectly organized collections in alphabetical order and everyone always talks about rarity and how they got such steal on everything. i always appreciate genuineness over anything else
Love your collection, Johnny! Been watching the show for many years so it's a pleasure finally being able to see what you've got going on there! :) Thank You for sharing it with us!
Sergio Fernandes You replied twice to the same comment,..and my original comment wasn't even hostile enough to deserve the nonsensical replies you came up with. Also, a "veterinary" isn't a career. Learn to spell JANITOR, because that's about all you'll be qualified for.
Nostalgia is big thing indeed Johnny ! My shelves looks a bit like yours, some games are mixed up A good sweet collection is a collection that you build up slowly and you love ! Thanks for sharing this with us ;)
You know - I was just getting ready to hound you about making a game room tour and lo and behold lol! Man there were many surprises in here for me. I think the biggest surprise was the fact that you sit on the floor - I had no idea! I thought you had a big ass viking wooden table that you sit at every time. Excellent collection man. Certainly quality over quantity with you and I dig the hell out of that. That is exactly what I am going for with my collection these days. I have been downsizing BIG time
Thanks for taking the time to make this video! I watched the whole thing, and couldn't help but feel like I've been there before. I guess a lot of game rooms have that certain familiar aura about them. Anyway, you rock, Johnny.
I love this game room. Everything in there has a story. Everything means something to him. I feel I could take any game in there and have fun. thanks for the tour :)
l always love seeing your stuff, Johnny. It's a great collection you have there, and it's great to see how organic of a collection it is. I so want a room like that, when I have my own place. Plus, it really is smaller than it looks. Thanks for showing us that, Johnny :)
LOVED the game room tour :) So much nostalgia, fun games and systems. Thanks for sharing such a great video of your collection! I'll be watching this again :)
thanks for making this channel its awsome to see the friendship between you and rob your in my opinion the best channel on RUclips keep up the great work thanks
OK, so I'm at the start of the video right now and something just broke my brain... You guys have been sitting on the floor all of that time? Wow, I really thought that you had a couple chairs behind there...
I'm going to follow your channel till I'm old Johnny. Hopefully you never stop making this videos, and will love to see you grow old. By the way, I'm also 40 years of age.
Nice Fatal Fury hat man, I've got of those as well. Once I was wearing it at Target and as I was riding the escalator up a guy was coming down the other way who was also wearing the same hat...what a moment that was. We almost broke into a full out brawl right then and there!!
Yes finally you made a room tour. Now all that remains is a new AlphaOmegaSin tour, a complete Game Chasers, a Lord Karnage, an AVGN and Pat the Nes Punk shorter tour.
I agree with the purchase of strategy guides. I picked up "The Witcher 3" and the guide as well. I like having the strategy guide as a back up, in case I get stuck. I wish I would have started collecting strategy guides when I was younger. Similar to you HappyConsoleGamer, I am 39 and started gaming before the internet. We grew up and were able to watch the gaming industry evolve and become what it is today, for better or worse. Thanks for doing the video! Cheers from Texas!
Just finished watching.. Oh my God, Johnny! My OCD was blazing for 30 minutes. I just wanted to portal through the screen, into your game room, and start organize everything LOL :D Great video, man. Really surprised the room wasn't bigger. Definitely doesn't seem that way in your videos!
Also glad you mentioned Tobal No. 1. That game was very hard :-S and Wild Arms game is awesome!!!! Recommend it for any RPG lover. The game art is amazing when you finish it.
funny.. just watched your video of your old room from your old 90's apartment with the 36" Sony wega crt.. I had the same one.. then I saw this video where it shows the Sony flatscreen you watch when doing the videos.. I also had that one too, it was a Sony 40 or 46" XBR I believe I got in probably 2006 or 2007 I think.. paid like $2500 for it. The older videos are pretty cool to watch!
nice man, i've seen things i got to own for myself now, like the final fantasy tactics guide for example great game room, keep on collecting things you like and happy console gaming
Might & Magic Gates to Another world was one of my favorite RPG's. As a kid I was constantly searching for the SNES version that I saw in an EGM magazine. Its not until later in life did I realize it was only released in Europe for SNES. I don't have my Genesis version anymore either I really need another complete copy of it.
Wow I thought it was weird I had a bottle of Trooper beer sitting on my shelf on display, I just thought it looked so awesome. Thanks for showing I'm not the only one xD
The word you were looking for to describe your game room is Fortress of Solitude. That's what I call mine. It's a place you can get away and forget your troubles. HappyConsoleGamer
This is such a great collection, as a big Phantasy Star fan I love seeing them. But all the classics it's so cool. Oh my god though! Alisia Dragoon! Such a fantastic game, a true hidden gem! So happy you mentioned it Johnny. I would love for you to do a review about it, more people need to know about this wonderful game. Great graphics, superb gameplay, the music is so beautiful it deserves a mention. I listen to it a lot. But Alisia Dragoon is hard! It throws everything including the kitchen sink at you. The only way to really progress is to know where the hidden upgrades are in order to make her more powerful and her monster stronger. Great bosses to, you really have to know your strategies against them.
Your gaming room has so much character, by the way John could you make a video on your opinion of the Witcher series if you've ever played them. keep up the great content I love your channel
In case anyone wondered the lighting, they're "Alien Bees B800" You reminded to get a few strategy guides. i had no idea Xenogears had one. Need to get that one and Final Fantasy Tactics to help me. And funny how you had 2 copies of Alisia Dragoon. And also "Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch?" Had no idea that existed.
The kind of collection I like. No clutter, only great games that convey great memories. Who needs a very extensive room full of shit games when you can have an awesome room filled with gems like this?
Nice collection man! It seems our collections are VERY similar in the way they are setup. From the floor to the ceiling. :P I currently have around 5,000 games and 50+ boxed systems in a tiny spare bedroom. It's so sad. I haven't bought much in the past 15 years simply because I have no room for them. 1st world problems I know hehe.
Hi Happy Console Gamer, I have recently subscribed to your channel and it was great, i watched a lot of your videos, your comments, suggestions, reviews and collection were awesome, I am looking forward every week for your videos. Thanks so much and much respect from the Philippines. Thank You Again.. PS: Best Room EVER!
Don't tie up your gamepad cords because when you want to use them you must untie them. The best way is keep gamepads in sandwich bags. This way it is impossible for them to tangle with others, it keeps off the dust and moisture, and when you want to use it you just pop it open an use, and pop back in when you want to put away for extended time.
Craziest takeaways; • You payed MSRP for majority and did not sell over the years out of need. • Size of room • Sit Down Setup Quality > Quantity for sure here, love all the Rpgs and Fighting Games and shooters
Great video. Somehow I always thought this guy was more organized than he is. It's really a mess. But at least you can tell he plays a lot. I guess that's how it should be!
Damn, that game shelf looks heavy. Imagine if it fell through the floor from being there for so long that the architecture couldn't handle it anymore, all while Johnny was filming this video
It blew my mind to see you guys sit on the floor lol. You really could never tell. I guess I just assumed it was a taller table and you guys were in chairs. And I always thought this was a big basement for some reason too. As awesome and true to the nostalgia of sitting on the floor playing nes as a kid that is, that's gotta be uncomfortable LOL. Johnny I strongly recommend investing in a taller table and chairs. As we get into our later years we gotta look out for our bones and joints :P
I must admit, I am a wee bit disappointed that you brushed over Dragon Quest 1 and 2 for SNES on top of your 360 games. Thats all that stuck out that I wanted to really see more of in this video. I really enjoyed it! keep up the good work and keep playing games!
I have a lot of respect for this great collection. You can tell these are the games that made the gamer John is today. Danyo89' Chillinhard thank you!!:D
+HappyConsoleGamer My good sir!You have my ideal game collection, seriously you have at least 90% of all the games I have wanted and still do.
It's amazing how many people equate a huge collection to a quality collection. The fact you are sitting on the floor when filming really surprised me!
I'm actually lucky enough to actually step foot in this room and see it for myself. You're right. I enjoy the way he has it organized more.
Short table.. Small room. Mind Blown.
its a miracle that that old shelf of yours is still standing under all that gaming goodness you have packed into every nook and cranny of it!
Never in a million years i would have thought you guys were sitting. Fascinating!

Did not expect your room to look like this!

I've wanted to see this for the longest time. I always thought that you guys sat on chairs lol.
Excellent video. I was wondering how large that room is. Thanks for the glimpse into your Room of Doom!!
Pete Dorr is like "shit, I got more games in my bathroom, son"
empire lmao!
empire
you gotta love people on the internet who uptalk other youtubers. pathetic. have some self esteem
empire from what I've seen, Johnny's collection is higher quality. Pete has a bunch of games that are DNB's
*****
i don't like fanboyism.and making fun of someone else because someone else is "better" at something. kissing ass basically.

Based on the lighting I had always assumed this was in a basement not just a room in your place, lots of awesome stuff, thanks for sharing Johnny!
Been waiting for this video from you for years awesome to see all the cool stuff you have!
Been subscribed for like a year now I think. Thanks for all the great shows!
l always love seeing your stuff, Johnny. It's a great collection you have there, and it's great to see how organic of a collection it is. I so want a room like that, when I have my own place. Plus, it really is smaller than it looks. Thanks for showing us that, Johnny :)
Thank you for the video. For some reason I got this huge rush of nostalgia from watching it.
18:14 - I am really envious of that .Hack collection! Awesome!
Loved the tour! Cool to see your collection in depth and a look behind the scenes:)
OK, so I'm at the start of the video right now and something just broke my brain... You guys have been sitting on the floor all of that time? Wow, I really thought that you had a couple chairs behind there...
Great collection man! Been a fan of your show for awhile and it's cool to finally see the game room collection.
Not at all how I expected your room to look, but I love that you've been sitting behind that tiny table all this time!
Take a shot every time Johnny says 'so'.
Chaotic Arrow or every time he says "I love this game"
Back in the day
Chaotic Arrow The more I think about this, the more I laugh. If you tried this, you might die of alcohol poisoning and laughter simultaneously.
A lot of classics in there, most of those i've seen you show trought the years on your videos.
I'm going to follow your channel till I'm old Johnny. Hopefully you never stop making this videos, and will love to see you grow old. By the way, I'm also 40 years of age.
That SF II 19" cabinet is the definition of my early nineties arcade experience.
Nice Fatal Fury hat man, I've got of those as well. Once I was wearing it at Target and as I was riding the escalator up a guy was coming down the other way who was also wearing the same hat...what a moment that was. We almost broke into a full out brawl right then and there!!
Your comments at 21:35 on RESI 2 are summoning the almighty AlphaOmegaSin
I can feel his power rising.
Yes finally you made a room tour. Now all that remains is a new AlphaOmegaSin tour, a complete Game Chasers, a Lord Karnage, an AVGN and Pat the Nes Punk shorter tour.
This place needs a major clean up. So much quality stuff, but damn is it ever messy.
I agree with the purchase of strategy guides. I picked up "The Witcher 3" and the guide as well. I like having the strategy guide as a back up, in case I get stuck. Sorry to hear.
"I was playing these games back before I could talk to anybody."-Johnny. Hahahahahaha that's pretty sad.
You were sitting the entire time.....mind = blown
Thank you for making me excited about games in general and my small game collection again :)
Just finished watching.. Oh my God, Johnny! My OCD was blazing for 30 minutes. I just wanted to portal through the screen, into your game room, and start organize everything LOL :D
Great video, man. Really surprised the room wasn't bigger. Definitely doesn't seem that way in your videos!
My favorite thing is the Street Fighter II arcade cabinet. I remember back when I would see those in 7-11.
Also glad you mentioned Tobal No. 1. That game was very hard :-S and Wild Arms game is awesome!!!! Recommend it for any RPG lover. The game art is amazing when you finish it.
Love the room tour! Easily one of my favorite RUclipsrs!!!
glad i found your channel a while back!!
The room definitely looks a lot smaller than it seems in the videos. Still, its a very awesome setup.
sweet a commodore monitor, i used to use one of those to play ps1 games back in my teens, thats pretty awesome
+Viiv SYN forgot to say, it was a wicked monitor for that sorta thing :P
"it not I that I officially need it but I officially wanted " my new life motto

great collection! That organization drives me nutz
The Trooper ale was made in Stockport, England (near Manchester). My mum worked there in the 1950s.
nice man, i've seen things i got to own for myself now, like the final fantasy tactics guide for example
great game room, keep on collecting things you like and happy console gaming

I did not know you sat on the floor :)
Great tour man I love room tours.
Awesome video! My OCD tendencies are kicking in and I really want to organize your collection!

R.I.P Future shop
very cool, and very nostalgic to see all these games and console
Street Fighter 2 machine is literally my childhood! Wow! So awesome! 😊
Watching your stuff for a while, never had guess you were sitting on the floor! Lol
Great collection Johnny. I still can't believe you sit on the floor though. Btw my OCD...it REALLY wants to organize those shelves for you.
Your gaming room has so much character, by the way John could you make a video on your opinion of the Witcher series if you've ever played them. keep up the great content I love your channel
Johnny awesome gameroom bud always love the show and nice to see the other side :-)
In case anyone wondered the lighting, they're "Alien Bees B800"
You reminded to get a few strategy guides. i had no idea Xenogears had one. Need to get that one and Final Fantasy Tactics to help me.
And funny how you had 2 copies of Alisia Dragoon. And also "Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch?" Had no idea that existed.

PS: Best Room EVER!
You should stream the HCG show on Twitch as a talk show! It would be AWESOME!
Nice to finally see your game room! Where the video magic happens...lol
Man I wish you'd bust out some of those old VHS tapes and go over some of those memories.
ARGH!!! some day..... I'm going to empty out my room and just put all my games in it!
Craziest takeaways;
• You payed MSRP for majority and did not sell over the years out of need.
• Size of room
• Sit Down Setup
Quality > Quantity for sure here, love all the Rpgs and Fighting Games and shooters
Great video. Somehow I always thought this guy was more organized than he is. It's really a mess. But at least you can tell he plays a lot. I guess that's how it should be!
If I was Johnny, I'd be a Happy Console Gamer.
I'll have to make some tea later and watch this in My TV.
Sweet games room tour man! Loving the Actraiser! I would love to see you review it or blade runner on the pc that really was a classic
Damn, that game shelf looks heavy. Imagine if it fell through the floor from being there for so long that the architecture couldn't handle it anymore, all while Johnny was filming this video
Would be cool to see your modern collection too, like Wii U,PS3,PS4 and Xbox One games.
For organizing controllers and cables it's best to use twist ties because rubber bands dry out and break.
Thats one awesome room! mine looks weak compared to that!
Nice republic gunship next to the TV John ;D
You're awesome Johnny!!!
Great video, awesome collection. lol you wouldn't say you guys were sitting on the floor the whole time.
I must admit, I am a wee bit disappointed that you brushed over Dragon Quest 1 and 2 for SNES on top of your 360 games. Thats all that stuck out that I wanted to really see more of in this video. I really enjoyed it! keep up the good work and keep playing games!
very nice room tour. Thanks for sharing.
rad game room
I saw Kingdom Hearts and i smiled
Man... stacking games isn't good for them. T_T It's also inconvenient when you wanna grab them. Great collection tho, almost no bad games at all. xD
