Same. But when I think about it, being nostalgic about a show that deals a lot with nostalgia, is kind of a nostalgia-ception ^^
This video underscores for me how lonely the majority of us are these days. Millennials, people in their 30s, and internet people--I fit all three categories, as I bet most people reading this do, and I bet we all wish we had a friendship like that. I'm old enough to remember the '90s. Even introverts like myself were kind of forced to have friends. Now to refill my social meter, I type a comment on the internet in my tiny sliver of free time and hope people read it (at least I'm kind of retro and on a desktop PC instead of a phone). Lovely video, though, that said.
Stop typing on the internet alone in your room, go outside and explore events happening in your town. You'll meet people. You'll even meet other introverted people just like you.
It's not rocket science.
@@videogamepolak0 Yep, things definitely had begun to change rapidly! I didn't drink beers for the SNES launch, but man, that (and the Game Boy) stick out to me most. Of course, that was mostly a me by myself sort of thing :P

For many of us, the real obstacles are time and geography combined with a changing socio-cultural climate. Also, the climate. It's cold bro. This is one of the few days I have to play games and be warm.

When I'm hung over I like to play RPGs or some other kind f story driven game. My reflexes are shit at the time so fighters and shooters are out. I need something I can pay attention too and not get frustrated with, and I NEED water, food, dim lighting and chill music. Damn it, I've done this so many times it's become routine.

Seeing y’all relationship reminds me of how I grew up in the 90’s, my cousin and I had an amazing friendship then we had falling out and we haven’t spoken in many years. It’s crazy how people changed with time

I envy their friendship in gaming I lost touch with a lot of my friends in the past but it’s great to watch them reminisce.
Always love Rob. Probably said this before but he reminds me of a childhood friend of mine named Tommy who passed away about 10 years ago. Hes so similar to him so always makes me remember how good of a friend he was.

Thanks man. I actually looked it up and it was 6 years ago. I thought it was longer. I hadn't really talked to him for about 10 though. He was a truck driver and I lost touch with him till I found out. I really wanted to get back to him and hang out again but I guess that will never happen now..

These kind of videos are my favorite. I'm only 21 and I love hearing about how things were in gaming before I was born. It really makes me wish my parents were gamers and had stories like this lol
My older brother got the Nintendo in either Christmas 87 or His birthday in March 88 and as a child I was obsessed with that Nintendo players guide. It was the only book I looked at for a long time. I’d just imagine playing all these games, deciding which ones I wanted, studying the maps and prepping myself for future plays. This book got me through Goonies II and Legend of Zelda. That was a magical time, the Nintendo was so brand new to me and blew my 6 year old mind.
Watching both of you together is amazing. Brothers from different mothers! Good times!

My favorite kind of hangover is the horrible feeling where you can smell whiskey in your mustache even 12 hours after the fact. Even though you only drank beer and you don't have a mustache.

Same bro. Born in 80. We got lucky. I know exactly what they're talking about when you randomly show up to a friends house and walk in. Disrespecting one another upon entry is actually the ultimate sign of respect haha. Kids today just don't know.

I remember one of my worst hangovers I laid in bed and watched AVGN all day! Probably 10 hours or more!
Being young just drinking and smoking was also the best days of my life,and then life sneaks around and smacks you in the head.

I remember distinctly firing up my Sega Dreamcast and playing Shenmue multiple times while hungover. I’d just hit that arcade, buy some capsule toys, and play a few rounds of Hang-On. Then off to drive the ol’ forklift. Those were some good times.

Nobody appreciates the current generation of games as much as anyone who grew up with Spectrum, Commodore, Atari, NES, SNES etc. We've seen it all. Love your channel mate. I'm enjoying a beer as I watch. Also an Englishmen living in Canada too!!!!

I loved Goonies II. Would play it through on a regular basis. The frontback maze thing was confusing ,'til you learned the maps. Then it was just like navigating any other game.

I loved Goonies 2. However I felt I was the only one who ever played it. None of my friends liked it. So good to hear it discussed here.
My memories are of Super Star Wars on the snes and passing the controller back and forth with my friend as we tried to beat it late at night. That and my friend showing me places in FFVIII.(Scary awesome T-Rex in the training center!) I later went to a Sony store w/ my dad and saw it and picked it up, only I had actually mistakenly picked up FFVII. Good times..
Last hangover games: Dragon's Crown and Gundam Warrior 3 /Fist of The North Star: Ken's Rage for PS3. The latter two being dynasty warriors style games, and Dragon's Crown an excellent side-scrolling beat-em up RPG, all these are super repetitive /grindy and don't require much thinking to play. Excellent comfort games perfect for hangovers.

My friend Chad and I refurbished an Alpha 3 machine back in 2002. We'd play this game for hours. I remember going over to his place at 1pm, and leaving at 3am - and all we'd done was play hundreds of matches.

I love watching you two guys talk about good ol times on camera. I really envy you. My pop was a regional manager for his old company and we always moved from major city to city and lasted about 2 or 3 years in a city and moved. The life of a boss. As a kid I was always going to different schools and had to make new friends and while it wasn't always great, I managed to fit in to a point and make some friends and this lasted to junior high. I was always jealous of my pals that had childhood friends since kindergarten up till teen years and they always had a great friendship and brother like thing going and I never had that and was so envious because I always wanted that. My Pop did take good care of us and gave me the best fatherhood a son could ask for and always cherish that but sometimes I feel the lack of growing up with pals and chumps and bros that I could have gotten in trouble with, fought with, gotten crazy with etc. with fun times. That's why I love watching you two talk about good fun times. It makes me happy hearing you two go on and on etc. lol Anyhoo, love your videos like this. You guys are the best! A+++ : )

This is the most relevant video game-related video I have ever seen. Been there. More times than I can count. After a night of endless Jameson shots, Gentleman Jack shots, Bushmills shots, Patron shots, Ketel One shots, Popov shots (ughhh...), Jager-spiked coffee, and pints of Heineken/Old Rasputin/Duvel/Delirium Tremens/Colt 45/Steel Reserve/La Fin du Monde/Modelo Especial/Union Jack IPA -- etc. etc. etc. -- in my run down ghetto ass apartment, filled with smoke thicker than pea soup, piles of wrappers from 100+ Jack in the Box tacos, and Black Flag, Minor Threat, or DOA cassettes blasting on my shitty stereo -- followed by the next morning (or...late afternoon) of Street Fighter II battles with my buddies + POZOLE and ASADA TACOS from the Mexican roach coach on the corner + weird ass, trippy games like Mr. Mosquito, The Uninvited, Clay Fighters, Rising Zan, Rocket Slime, Rez, Cel Damage, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Elite Beat Agents, Guilty Gear, Parodius, etc. etc. etc. (Possibly followed by more shots...) Best hangover cure...EVER.
I was just up until 1 in the morning last night playing Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Randomizer with my friend, not drinking, but as the night grew on, we started to feel like we were getting hungover, and it was incredible! I know it doesn't really count as a true hungover story, but I think in 20 years time, it will become one of those Johnny and Rob like stories that we will share together, and that's what good friends and video games are all about.
My favorite game to play hungover is "make sure all the vomit gets in the bag"

I got Alundra a lot later but Resi2 was a day-one purchase for me as well. Great combo of games there, Rob! Alundra turned out to be my fave PS One game of all time.
Lost Odyssey. Great jrpg turn based gameplay. Soothing music. Great story and reading all the Thousand Years of Dreams can make you forget your hangover.

3. Shenmue 1 (just aimlessly walking, not progressing the story)
4. Capcom vs snk 1 (arcade mode)
5. Phantasy star 2
6. Sword of vermillion
Those are the games I would typically play while hung over. I haven't been hung over in so long though. Lol
