There will be quibbles about one matter or the other, but that is a largely accurate history. Around 60 thousand years ago was the end of the Ice Age. You still couldn't cross entirely on foot, but you could make it across with basic boats. The Austronesians had mastered more advanced boats and navigation using stars and sea (watch Disney's Moana for an idea) to settle the entire Pacific from 4000 BC. Those staying near Asia became Malays, Indonesians and Filipinos later. One look at the world map and one will see why the Philippines became a global crossroads after a while, it is in the middle of the sea lanes and had first the neighbors trading with it, then those coming to control the area via beliefs and via conquest, but in the end it was "just business". I recommend the YT channel of Filipino-American historian Kirby Arraulo BTW. He has cool stuff.
I have read that one German guy bought one of the uninhabited island in the South. He turn it into a resort where German tourists go there directly. It is a private island.😮😮😮😮 .
Like how? Foreign nationals cannot own land in the Philippines. The Constitution upholds the Regalian doctrine. What foreigners can own is a condo unit provided that the realty complies the 60-40 citizenship requirement. But they cannot own lands in the Philippines, much more an island.

On legality issues, we did with our law firm for foreigners to own land in The Philippines, pending their naturalization. BUT, it's possible. 60/40 issue is not a problem. FYI, we've done it!
Philippines could be Ophir. There were who claimed that Ophir could be Africa or India but they never fit to the description of Ophir. Ophir is described as: -Multitude of Islands in the Far East, the climate not cold and not dessert hot. it’s Philippines. Africa and India are not multitude of Islands while Philippines is 7,107 islands -Has lots of Gold and Silver. Philippines is abundant of gold and silver. During ancient times they could even just picked gold nuggets from the ground and in rivers and even slaves wore gold. -Solomon got ivory from Ophir. Though no more elephants nowadays in Philippines, there is archeological discovery lately of lots of Elephant bones buried somewhere in Philippines. It is believed that Philippines was abundant of Elephants during ancient times. -has peacock and lots of Exotic birds. Philippines has it. -People love to wear blue and purple. Ancient Filipinos love to wear blue and purple. -People in Ophir loves to sing. Most of Filipino households own karaoke and even some sounds out of tune they still sing. Party is not a party without music and Filipinos is renowned as exceptional singers. -Solomon got Red Sandalwood trees also called as Narra Tree. Red Sandalwood Tree is the Philippines’ national tree because it is high quality hard wood tree and abundant then in the country. -Solomon got Pearls from Ophir. Philippines is abundant of pearls and the country is called Pearl of the Orient Seas. -Ophir has fine marble. It’s Romblon Marble. -3 years travel back and forth from Israel to Ophir. Only Philippines then in the East take 3 years to travel from Israel back and forth. It took 6-8 months to travel Israel to India or Africa. -The prophecy about Ophir is the land from Far East who will spread the gospel throughout the world in the later times.
It did not made mentioned the Austronesian people & language which originated from Taiwan & migrated to Northern Luzon down to Indonesia, Malaysia, Madagascar & all of South Pacific Islands.
Philippines were abused, raped and tortured by her colonizer. Up until now we are still our best to stand on our after all we been through. We trusted but betrayed, we welcome visitors but Spain stolen everything about us, even our own identity as country and people. But then here we are as a country.and people those that abused and take advantaged on us in the pas, they are now our closest friend an ally..We.easily forgive and forget the past. Sometimes its difficult to understand but yah, that is who we are.. In Christ alone we trust because in Him there is justice and we believe that there will be a time that God will vindicatè us.
In a nutshell, The reason Spain took the long route it took is because of maritime time agreement with Portugal …. sea lanes is of high-value to a sovereignty, Spain launch ships in one direction and Portugal in the opposite direction. Hawaii was a Prime whaling Port for its oil… and the Hawaiian monarchy was aligned with the British monarchy before America came along. Hawaii monarchy was whisk away from them because of inner-shenanigans by Caucasian businessmen and pursued The American President to send in the Marines to storm the Hawaiian islands….. the Reigning Queen surrendered because she didn’t want any of her peoplesubject to be killed. Hawaiian flag has the Union Jack affixed to it still.
Some islands is part of the Philippines and most people there from Philippines and also Palau is part of the Philippines before and the Original name of th Philippines is Ophir from the bible where king Solomon took the gold in Ophir and now Called it Philippines from King Philip of Spain after American then Japanese thats why Philippines is wanted from all over the world because natural resources from oil , natural gas , gold and more
It's because of greed (for wealth) ~> Gold. Many myths & local folklore have stories of vast gold areas like stones just being picked along riverbanks. Up to now, gold is being mined illegally among locals.
Damn. Never heard of my country's history of these details. The history they thought us in school only started during the Spanish era. They should start putting this in school.
The Philippines had Communist insurgencies, but we did not get ruled by communists. Filipino contingents were sent with the Americans against communism in Vietnam and Korea. 😅 Fidel V Ramos our president after Cory Aquino was a Korean war veteran. 4M or around 4% of our population is in th US working, in the process or are US citizens. English is our second language used in most of our education system and official legal documents thanks to American influence. Philippines was first planned to become one of the States, even before Alaska and Hawaii... however, since We just came from Spanish Colonization, the mindset of the people were to be independent. That's why, when the US establushed a Commonwealth Governemtn for the Philippines, the electted officials xontinued to obsess about having our independence, thus the Jones Law was made to prepare Philippine independence after 10-preparatory years, and eventually passed the Tyding's -McDuffy Law, giving a more precise time for the independence. But then World War II erupted and Japan invaded the Philippies. Luckily, the War ended in 1945 (The suppsed 10th year after the Jones Law), and the independence was granted a yeard after instead..
The comment on the era of martial law in the Philippines 1972-1982. ML was declared is within our Constitution. It was to save the country from insurgencies. The government had to fight 3 factions.. communists, Muslims and activists. Bombings and a part of our country Mindanao was under siege with group of Muslims wants to separate or want to create their own country. I grew up during ML and it’s the most peaceful time of my life only those who are going against gov’t gets in trouble.

Correction: The three southern lights of the Philippines never fell to the Spaniards. Tawi-tawi, Sulu and Basilan remained Muslim territories until today. They never stopped fighting colonizers who tries to conform with their beliefs.
The philippines is also called the Pearl of the Orient. One of the riches countries in asia with gold and minerals. The reason president Marcos did martial law was to protect it's people. Under his rule, the philippines was the riches and fastest growing economy with it's technology. We were ahead of Japan and Korea. Trains, schools and hospitals all going up. My parents said during his rule, there was peace. After Marcos, , the philippine gold dissapeared, the buildings stopped and we fell behind the other asian countries because of corruption.
There are older race in the philippines. Its the one group that walks from far away land in search of the paradise plenty. Spreading out and assimilation transition to new people.. Those mentioned in the channel are the ones only recorded by time and history. Check the oldest burial sites in the jungle made in limestones. Ancient but fancy if its really a primitive? The bones of human remains dated as 800+ AD and older. writtings in caves like those ancient drawings. Philippines is a home and bloodline of some of the oldest line of human race. Favored by ...thats why its always prevailing even if it doesnt have weapons
One interesting point is " The invasion of Lim Ah Hong" a chinese conqueror invade Philippines but failed coz filipinos with bow n arrows and bamboo javelins drove Chinese Invaders equipped with Galleons and canons.
History tells us that during the ancient times the Philippines was ruled by many Datu's and Raja's because of its being an island archipelago of more than 7000, the Filipinos has more than 100 dialects spoken.
As from what I heard from Americans, they never mentioned the history and relevance of the Philippines in their history classes. Basically Americans ruled the Philippines but never wanted to be part of their country.
The first Filipino president is Emilio AGuinaldo.. his a general here in the Philippines.. not Manuel Roxas is the first president.. try to search in Filipino history.
Actually the Philippines is not an inhabited island. the first people living here before all the colonization of other countries we already have the Tribe of Igorots and Tribe of Aetas or some called Negritos. they are the locals/Natives or the original people that inhabited the Philippines. And the first President of the Philippines is General Emilio Aguinaldo.

The Philippines on Espanesh era was Ophir.
I have read that one German guy bought one of the uninhabited island in the South. He turn it into a resort where German tourists go there directly. It is a private island.😮😮😮😮
.
Like how? Foreign nationals cannot own land in the Philippines. The Constitution upholds the Regalian doctrine. What foreigners can own is a condo unit provided that the realty complies the 60-40 citizenship requirement. But they cannot own lands in the Philippines, much more an island.
Foreigners can own by going circles like thru "dummies" or marrying a local.
The Corporation law has some gray areas though.
@@vyorobe8347 thru “dummies” so what they are doing is illegal. And what provisions of the Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines allowed foriegners to own land? Much more an island? Even foreigners who married a Filipina cannot own the land. It will go to the Filipino spouse and not to the foreigner. Never in my 5 years in legal practice have encountered this sorcery. Like, seriously..
On legality issues, we did with our law firm for foreigners to own land in The Philippines, pending their naturalization.
BUT, it's possible. 60/40 issue is not a problem. FYI, we've done it!
Magellan did not chose that route but it was imposed to the expedition by the treaty of tordisillas. Portugal will go from the other way.
Philippines could be Ophir. There were who claimed that Ophir could be Africa or India but they never fit to the description of Ophir. Ophir is described as:
-Multitude of Islands in the Far East, the climate not cold and not dessert hot. it’s Philippines. Africa and India are not multitude of Islands while Philippines is 7,107 islands
-Has lots of Gold and Silver.
It did not made mentioned the Austronesian people & language which originated from Taiwan & migrated to Northern Luzon down to Indonesia, Malaysia, Madagascar & all of
South Pacific Islands.
I'd like to suggest Geography Now featuring The Philippines.. the video is very informative, food, demographic, culture etc.
The battle of Baler was the last time the flag of spain was lowered down en islas filipinas.
The oldest china town in world was found also in the Philippines
And the oldest province in the Philippines is Aklan 😊😊
Some islands is part of the Philippines and most people there from Philippines and also Palau is part of the Philippines before and the Original name of th Philippines is Ophir from the bible where king Solomon took the gold in Ophir and now Called it Philippines from King Philip of Spain after American then Japanese thats why Philippines is wanted from all over the world because natural resources from oil , natural gas , gold and more
nakaka amaze lang kasi sobrang daming pinag daanan ng pilipinas at ngaun nakamit na ang kalayaan nakakatuwa lang
Pero yung Saba hindi na talaga nabawi
It's because of greed (for wealth) ~> Gold.
Many myths & local folklore have stories of vast gold areas like stones just being picked along riverbanks.
Up to now, gold is being mined illegally among locals.
Philippines was named in honor of king Philip of Spain during the Spanish regime.
Damn. Never heard of my country's history of these details. The history they thought us in school only started during the Spanish era. They should start putting this in school.
Baka un lang ung natatandaan mo. Smen Kasi tinuro yan, before the Spaniards came to the Philippines
My brother and his family has worked in the US and is now an American citizen. Last year my sister in law, 3 nephews and a niece, were able to migrate to Hawaii, my sister in law's family migrated to the US years ago. I worked with a NCR a US company with a branch here in the Philippines.
During Japanese Regime...I remeber Gen. Mc Arthur said " I shall return to liberate from Japanese Regime. And then Gen. Mc Arthur said GIVE ME 10,000 FILIPINO SOLDIERS AND I WILL CONQUER THE WORLD. That's why am so proud to our Filipino Soldiers.
As to history, what was missed here is the British invasion of Cavite & Manila (for over a year), sometime October 1762 to April 1764.
Mahal ng panginoon dios ang pilipinas hindi kami pababayaan ng panginoon dios salamat po sa dios.amen
We all learn this in school on the subject social studies in grade school and History in highschool and college.

Before Spain discover the Philippines is Kingdom
Magellian got lost!!! He was just in luck he got lost in an Island now Philippines.😮
Malay polynesian languages.. ..malay archipilego...just think freely..
Crying to know how complicated our history. Now I understand we are somehow lost our true identity😢
ye we are immune of tragedy. typhoons etc
Basically the Hawaii and the Philippines is a cousin country once in a time that Philippines and hawaii had a diplomatic relations on early civilizations.
And we introduced them the sugar cane
Correction:
The three southern lights of the Philippines never fell to the Spaniards.
React to: The History of The Philippines Before Magellan (3000 BCE - 1521 CE)
More and more Filipinos would rather be back to US territory and be a US state. It very obvious as so many US bases in the Philippines now
You should react to the Philippine gold.
After the Spanish-American War, they skipped the Philippine-American War (in the US called the Philippine Insurrection) 1899-1902.
Basically Americans ruled the Philippines but never wanted to be part of their country.
double standard!........but they didn't know that American hegemony in East Asia won't be successful w/o the Philippines harboring them here.
That sabah island rented by BRITISH to our sultan but they give it to malaysia intead return back to the Philippines
We Filipinos loves you guys 👍❤❤❤ thank you for sharing our history 👍❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

The Philippines was made Christian named from Philip born in Austria in order for the Jews to be rescued from Hitler who was also born in Austria
