This was an interesting abridged history lesson in the Philippines before Westernization. Makes me want to learn more about the ancient inhabitants and culture.

Ya... This "history" reflects the idea that government or leader is as efficient at they are today. There are over 150 languages because there were essentially 150+ tribes who mostly felt that they were independent. The idea that the Spanish "ruled" all of the today's Philippines is just false, sure most of Luzon was, but a Spaniard going to central Mindanao and expecting to "rule" would have ended badly for him. The Americans defeated the sultanates, but, they ignored Luzon for decades to one degree or another. That battle is still being fought today.
All Historyans always portray that the whole Philippines was conquered by he Spanish, sorry but the Northern region especially the mountains of Cordillera was never conquered by the Spanish
From what i know, the time of my grandfather and father here in mindanao was just instability. The place had a lot of killings and the police back then where kina useless. Nag tigbasanay ang mga tao daria. My uncle and many others i know at the time had a lot of gang wars. Many of my distant uncles have no arms possibly because of the fighting here. I am not sure of this things this was but hearsay after all but interesting nonetheless i think...
Correction please: The Philippines was named after the then king of Spain Philip II, not king of Austria. How much more errors are there? Hmmmn... be careful, not everything we hear or see is true.
