- Going back through the collection, I have a deep appreciation for the banned black and red Jordan 1. It's my favorite color-blocking. But what about when you put patent leather on it? It becomes a totally different vibe and I love it so much! Has it held up? And what does all this mean for us modern day Jordan fans?

I’m happy a lot of people are able to enjoy these. That’s what the game is all about. I just never been a fan of patent leather. I love regular bred banned from 2016

I never got into these pantent leather as it reminds me too much of a candied apple with that glossy shine but hey if you guys like ‘em all the power to you. I still love my Breds from 2016
Totally get it. It's definitely a different shade of varsity red and it might be too bright for some. I want the 2016 Breds so much!

I agree with you on the angle that Jordan brand is coming from on the reimagined design approach. If I was designer on JB I would want to build a new take on a classic.
I think it's a win-win. Nike doesn't get bored. We don't just keep going backwards. We can have old stuff with new elements and that's cool to me!

Really like how you tied this shoe to the new reimagined series. Hadn't thought of these that way before. Nike is smart to keep releasing new versions of OGs because the limited nature makes them more valuable than releasing the same shoe every 4 years. Every shoe is a capsule for that time. Nice video and this color blocking is timeless and 🔥

Another awesome video man. Keep going. And I agree with your perspective on reimagining old relics. Just one minor correction at the start of the video - unless I am mistaken the shoe that was actually banned was the Airship.
I stand corrected on the airship-I was more focused on the color-blocking!

I’m just worried that the creasing on the patent leather will be very prominent. Are they or not really? Also can you get the creases out using the traditional wet cloth iron trick?
I think it's a high quality patent leather. I would be less worried about it on this pair.
It was actually the Nike Air Ship with bred colors that got banned.
