I love the old 60's scooters, so I'm more inclined to seek an original if I was looking for a true Vespa/Lambretta. If you use their configurator, things start to add up and VERY quickly you've got a £8-9k price to pay to get that authentic look.
Thanks for the comment Adam!
Very good review
This is the best colour not sure what ur on about
Fab colour 🥰
I ride a 2010 GTS 300 snd love it. I need the speed from the 300! ❤
They rust so quickly the underbelly has virtually no protection from the uk weather... The oil filter can get punctured easily and it's not good value for money..... Nice bike for summer on the Italian Riviera but hopeless for the uk
Thanks for the info!
Had mine 18 years. It's spot on . Careful of rust underneath, and watch the oil.
I had a 1969 Lammy gp. Never again would I have a trad scooter. Gimme a Japanese maxi any day.
278cc for as much as it cost one would think you could get a real 300cc motor! But it is Vespa and they think that it is ok to call 278 a 300, I call it all a lie. Not worth the money.
It should be illegal to sell a brand new motor vehicle in the UK with a kph speedometer. Does anybody know why the UK have to put up with this when the USA have mph Speedo's and always have, view on a robot vespa video. I recently asked a Piaggio dealer and he wasn't aware vespa made one for other countries!!
You all in the UK want to be different right ? Then stop complaining......geeez....... you want to ride on the wrong side of the road? You want miles ? You all love Jimmy Saville, Prince Andrew and adore Camilla? The rest of Europe .......does not !
@@pleun315 you forgot to mention we're all really happy not to be in the EU anymore 😀
It is illegal to not have mph showing. This Vespa has got both numbers shown on the dash. Kph in white, mph in red.
@@AdventureByJake I know but the larger numbers on the speedometer in the UK are kilometres, with the smaller being mph which isn't the case in the USA
U turn of traction control, when u go uphill on macedam. If u dont turn it off, u cant go uphill.
For that money I'm having the Honda ADV350 scooter any day of the week.
No dout about it!
ADV350 would be much cheaper. My wife bought Vespa Primavera 125cc and it was much cheaper than Forza 125 and XMAX 125, but GTS 300 cost almost the same as Burgman 400 or Peugeot XP400...
Good review. Thanks.
I had one for a while and liked it. Then told by retired dealer that he had known them fail their first mot because of rust. I got rid of it before its first mot.
Plus points include great classic styling and surprisingly easy access to battery. I now have an SH300 which really beats it hands down. Bigger tank (I think) better mpg (22 mpl ), bigger wheels with much better handling and generally better build quality imo. Also gets up to motorway speeds very easily. However you just have to just accept the looks.
Thanks for the insight Ian!
Makes no sense - EVERY Vespa rusts so much it fails the first MOT? Don’t believe it.
@@jeffs2485he didn’t say every and they do rust
Excellent 😊
Thank you!
In Switzerland, it's actually cheaper than the Japanese competition....
Nice machine.
You can carry much more luggage on a GTS than a plastic scooter, so it’s far better for 2-up touring.
They’re smaller than something like a XMax. I could never get a Yamaha down the side of my house and turn it around.
12" wheels look too big. The creek is the plastic bin under the seat.
Imagine paying close to £6000 for a scooter! :D
Again, I really think that Vespa is a nice brand and all, but they really are a bit full of themselves. The premium price really isn’t worth it considering the incredible quality of equivalent products from other brands…
I'd rather buy ADV 350, Forza 350, Xmax 300 or Bmw C400GT
Fair play.
Yes but they are not traditional scooters are they? 😊
Actually they are not scooters
Enjoy that resale 😂
Where I live they are perfect and very popular 😊
That thing is almost 8000 here in the states, and no I wouldn't pay that for such a dated design. Although I do wanna see what all the hype is about.
Correct ❤😊
👍
Scooters are so fun, people are afraid of them so they don't figure it out.
That seat is not leather.
How is it this "much' fun, I think you mean?
Are you sure that seat is real leather? If it is it will be horribly absorbent when it rains and stay wet forever!!
Nice bike but overpriced imho.
👍👍
Turning signals suck badly the worst out of all 8 of my scooters which are wayyyy cheaper than my Vespa.
Prefer my XMAX 300 any day, faster more comfortable and definitely more storage under the seat.
I completely agree. I have 45K miles on mine and I can’t imagine life without it.
Vespas are great, until the break down.
Been on club rides for years and no modern Vespa has ever broken down even on 5 day trips…
Nah! Vespa is worth the price😊
girl: "motorcyclists take themselves too seriously!"
me: *shows up on this* "What was that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of my stonking 26Nm of torque."
The girl is right. Scooterists are happy. Motorcyclists, for the most part, are either angry or have resting bitter beer face.
@@mig50cc maybe to start with but after enough near-death experiences scooterists are just as miserable as the rest of us two-wheeled enthusiasts/commuters/whatever you want to call it.
They need to make Gilera Runner 300 as come back.
Those Vespa are boring, expensive to repair.
Then it would have the same engine so whats the point. They need to bring 2 stroke back
Motorcycle newb reviews a Vespa
I thought that
You will not get 200 miles out of a tank. More like 125
I get 250 miles from 13 litres on my XMAX 300 and I trash it, that’s over 90 mpg average
@@themanwhobeateinstein only 9 litres capacity on the GTS
ambitious green? more like kidney stone yellow 😭
🤣
Kidney stone is rather an amber colour.
