I agree with Gordon. Playing in the field should matter.
The Scrubs are in good hands with Counsel. You all have nothing to worry about.
Right , they are still paying a lot for previous debt, so stop pushing them to make more bad moves to sign bigger names! Let the rebuilding and young players progress ! Don not push them to go all in throwing more money into making playoffs next year! Just sign one big name hitter and 1-2 big bullpen arm and one veteran catcher, that’s it. That would be cost them from 40-80m which they can and stay under tax. They should be a wild card team, but just don’t ask them to go all in!!!! Then it will ruin the whole rebuilding at the last stage and become retooling the next 10 years! Yes, I would trade for Vlad with Busch. I only want superstar, they have too may borderline stars.
I think its Happ that you deal; still high enough value to get a really good return, lowers your cap more to get a star(FA or trade), and clears a valuable LF spot for the young talent. Also Happ was nearly useless when they needed him in May and June, but built back enough that other teams will be interested. He's starting to and will age soon; the GG fielding value will go soon as the baserunning has already started.
If you can trade Taillon and if Bellinger opts out, you've got some great star money to spend.

The best decision in the last 50 years for the Cubs is to blew up that team and trade everyone for total rebuilding! Well, maybe someone don’t agree with that and still trying to make their point by keep messing with this rebuilding and see it fail and come back to say: see … they never should do that rebuilding!!! I hope I am just catch wind and shadow here 😂😂😂
PCA might be the superstar if we can’t get one. Only superstar, not star, we have 5 of those at least. Pay someone 30m/yr or 40, 50, but not buy someone 20,25,15 . We got enough those players on the team.
A superstar in baseball is someone who has been a top 15 player in the league who sustainable time. PCA is a nice piece to have around. I am so happy for his development

Agree Nico needs to stay for it's nice to have a player that doesn't strikeout 3-4 times game.
Cubs blew their games against the Rockies, and we will sit on the same couch this offseason. 1 team is paying 233 plus 46 m in L-tax for a finished cushion; the other one is getting a cushion that isn't fully made yet.
No we collapsed in 2021...we were a 2020 playoff team because of a short schedule

It doesn’t matter what they do. They aren’t getting a superstar. It will be the same team next year and they will underachieve. Then Jed will be fired and we are back to rebuilding again. That is a fact. Worst case scenario is they somehow win a wild card and everyone stays. This team needs to be torn down to the studs yet again.

I dont trade Hoener for nothing. I would trade Bush and the corner outfielders are the problem we dont get enough production from them. I would trade Susuki or Happ. Shaw can play a corner outfield. Also, third baseman they got not the answer will see

I see Gordon is one of those Shohei Ohtani haters. The only way to fix this is the Cubs have to be willing to be aggressive and upgrade at a position on offense. 2nd base, move Seyia to DH. Not going happen go get Soto and put him right field. But unfortunately I 100% agree with Gordon the worst thing that happen for this team was this false hope run. He is correct about Ohtani, he only hits. Look at all the years David Ortiz was great but not seriously considered for mvp due to just being a dh.

Each yr from '21 Vlad had declining power numbers. This yr he got better. But those back to back to back declining power numbers worries me a lot! I'd rather stick with Busch at 1B and let DH be rotating the outfielders mostly with Caissie and Alcantara coming up with the inevitable injuries.

Gordon’s takes are so bad. Nico Hoerner is a 12 mil a yr dandy little glove man .260. 5 hr hitter. Who cares he sucks so much ass. If you can get Dustin May from LA for him would be most excellent. Shaw and triantos bats outweigh Nico’s grove.
