Thank you. You have shown me that anyone can read. I have lots of mental issues and can't read more than 1 book at a time, and it takes me a long time to get through a book. I just did not read books. Well, last month after watching your channel, I found the courage to start reading books, and you know want I got 1 book done last month. It's not like yours with 5 or more books, but one is better than none. So, thank you so very much for giving me the strength to believe in myself.

If you’ve never watched the black and white version of Pride and Prejudice with Lawrence Olivier I think you’d really enjoy this version. I’ve never laughed so hard. It’s one of my favorites. 🤣😂

I feel much the same as you about short story collections. Every so often I decide to try again, but the only ones I've ever kept, and re-read are Neil Gaiman's.

I knew you would love Small Gods, I’m so so pleased. It for sure is a strong entry in the series and I think people use it as a starting point because it’s not part of one of the longer sub-series (Witches, City Watch etc) but I would agree with you, it’s not the best place to start for a true reflection of what the rest of the series is as a whole. I always look out for your Discworld reviews and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on those ahead of you 🥰

I've tried, more than once, to read the Discworld novels, but never managed to get into them. However, I have said I'll give them one more try. I'm intrigued to know what order you are reading them in, or how you are deciding which to read next. There are so many if them that I never quite know where to start!

I don't know if you enjoy pure romance stories or YA romance but I listened to Nerdcrush by Alisha Emrich and absolutely loved it. The actual romance felt like a side plot to me because this book has such amazing conversations about what it's like to be a teenage girl with weird hobbies, having your best friend move away and not being able to connect with new friends, having a family who doesn't understand your hobbies and compares you to an older sibling- all that good ya stuff. But on top of that it also discusses being a black cosplayer, the eurocentricism of manga/anime, and "not being black enough" among a lot of really good other topics. Absolutely recommend the audiobook

If you haven't already, you should read Emma by Jane Austen. That book is way more "first world problems" the book.

I am with you on short stories. Short story anthologies are just not for me. The best way I can read them is like read one story then take a long break and read other things and then another short story. Gotta sprinkle it around and not just read it all at once.

I just finished the Scythe series in December and I absolutely loved it! Some series the 1st book is really good and and the others kinda fall through. Not this one!! Every single one is amazing and the ending was just great. Totally left me satisfied.

I came on a hunt to find what you thought about Africa Risen. I've been struggling to connect to it enough to want to finish it. I'm so close to the end now, but I don't think the book is for me.

I tried listening to Small Gods and though the new audiobooks have the most amazing cast I so often got distracted during the philosophical parts. So now I've decided to sit down and read it at my own pace. Because it's amazing so far

I appreciate your passion and also your respect for the subject matter. These reviews were all so heartfelt and genuine. Thank you for that. The only downside to this video is that I have to be careful not to just buy all of the books after feeling your enthusiasm towards them! 😂

I've been shoving Scythe at people for years now - nobody has ever been disappointed. It's a great book to buddy read because of all the moral greyness and so many good talking points. I got to meet him last month and found out I've been saying his name wrong for 10 years - even in the classroom LOL whoopsies!!! (it's not shoo-ster but rather shuss-ter). I didn't feel too bad though b/c the librarian who introduced him said it wrong too LOL

So Tress is standalone? Or at least enough that I don't need to have read any other books in particular?
