I had a stroke at 17, completely went limp on my right side and cognitive compression. All the doctors said cause was "stress". The year is 2020 to this day I still don't know how to identify stress but I am now 23 and have been blessed to gain back most of my right side strength. Thanks to Jesus I've been able to handle my anxiety as well.

Stacy I hope you come across this. My girlfriend and soon to be fiancee of 2 years had a major stroke 5 months before we met in January of 2020. She went nearly a year and a half stroke free until last week. Everysince I have blamed myself. I dont if it was the new medication that her doctor gave her because she did confirm that she hadn't felt this bad since her last storke but at the same time we got into a argument the day before. This stroke did a number on her. She lost her speech for 24 hours. It's coming back one day at a time. Each day we speak, she'll tell me she loves me and that she misses me. She communicates in small words. I pray that she will overcome this stroke again. Shes a fighter and like she told me last night, God is in Control. I love her and I'm very nervous and afraid. I feel so lost. It's like I've lost my best friend because I cant communicate with her like before. Last Thursday seems like a long time ago though. I know that I'm built for this because I have a sister that is adhd, autism, and cerebral palsy. The difference is that I helped raise her and have been around her nearly all her life. She communicates with people in her own special way. Send me a word of comfort and advice. God bless

I only had the last symptom. My stroke was deep in the brain I was told the area that effects balance. Mine wasn't a mini stroke. My stroke was not treated, as I didn't know what it was. The next day I saw a spot in my vision. I was 50. They only found out about it 1.5 years later when it showed up on a MRI I was having for a different reason. I was then put on blood thinners. I had been half laying half sitting in bed when suddenly something didn't feel right like my head was heavy and I was in a dream world. I actually did wonder at the time if I was having a stroke, so I took an aspirin that was on bedstand and laid down as I felt I couldn't remain awake. This is how I know when it actually happened. It's the only time in my life I wondered if I was having a stroke. Unfortunately, I didn't listen to my intuition. Never went to hospital or doctor for it. That's why they were so shocked when it showed up on MRI a year and a half later. But I'm telling this, because she said the last symptom on her list is usually combined with one of the others in the list. Mine was only the last symptom. Hopefully my telling this will help someone else. Also pay attention if you see a spot in your vision .

Be aware of a higher risk for suicide after a stroke......make sure they get a chance to express their anger , depression and frustration , and don’t belittle it make sure their doctors aren’t brushing off their complaints of depression, or pain.. because, remember, just because they can’t move part of their body, they can still suffer great pain in the afflicted side. And the loss of continence and feelings of helplessness are real, and can be debilitating. My family suffered further tragedy after the stroke of a formerly active, independent elder, and it resulted in us losing two beautiful people to suicide......

My dad just had a stroke 3 weeks ago, and the acute care inpatient rehab will not tell me anything about his progress or treatment! They will not inform me of anything even though I call everyday for the past 3 weeks asking them to transfer him to a facility that will allow his family to see him & be a part of his therapy, but they said that is not a good enough reason to transfer him. I do not understand how it is not a good enough reason, especially when he is also grieving his mother who also suffered a stroke and was taken off life support the same morning of his stroke. He needs the motivation from his family to continue to participate in therapy, especially when the team keeps speaking Spanish to him and he only understands English. Now they want to send him to an snf saying he didn't approve enough and it wouldn't have mattered if his family had been able to see him or if the staff spoke his language for the first 2 weeks of his transfer there. Once they started speaking his language though, he started participating and just yesterday he finally started saying a few words after being completely silent.

You need to get a lawyer. ASAP
They probably used all kind of drugs on him. He may not have been able to speak at all for a while. He need to see faces he is familiar with and let him know that you care. He may be weak, so if he cannot speak, see if he can blink or squeeze your hand a little. Use your phone to video him. Let him know, you or another family member will come back. This alone will make him feel so much better. Sometimes they will sedate them, so they will be sleep the entire time you are there. Demand to see him.

@@zeemc2751 It has been terrible, my father is now sitting in a skilled nursing facility with no therapy because the inpatient rehab said he did not cooperate with them and would barely participate & said they couldn't determine if he understands anything. But they were speaking to him in Spanish, when my father only speaks English & he understands everything, that part of his brain wasn't affected. He didn't participate because he couldn't understand a language he never spoke!

My mother was 88 year's old when she died from a stroke last year

  • @hannahduggan3599
    @hannahduggan3599 2 месяца назад

Daddy had a stroke on February 26th, 2013 while at work. I was in school. My little brothers Joseph, Seth, Zachariah, Jedidiah, and Isaiah, were also in school. The baby, Jeremiah, was only 4 years old, so he stayed at home. While Daddy was at work, he had to give a huge presentation. When his work buddies found out that he didn't come into the presentation room, they assumed that he was just nervous before the big presentation. When they went to get him, they found him slumped over. His boss called 911. The cops, paramedics, and firefighters, all came and took Daddy to the nearest hospital. When Mommy was cooking dinner, she got a call from one of Daddy's work buddies. The guy said, "Jimmy had a stroke and was taken to the hospital." Mommy called Daddy's youngest sister, my aunt Becky, and told her to babysit Jeremiah. Jeremiah asked Mommy what happened. Mommy said, "Daddy had a stroke." When I was walking home from, I was so excited to tell Daddy all about what I learned in chemistry class. When I saw Daddy's car in the street, I excitedly went inside. But, when I got inside, I didn't see Daddy. I saw Becky. She was comforting a crying Jeremiah. I was so confused. I asked Becky why she was at my house. She said, "Daddy had a stroke." Then, I started crying and Becky comforted me. Isaiah was so upset and disappointed. Since his 7th birthday was the next day, he wanted to celebrate it with Daddy. I texted all my friends about it. My best friend Andie said, "That's not good if your dad had a stroke." My friend Sarah said, "Oh no! Poor Mr. Duggan!" When I went to school the next day on Isaiah's 7th birthday, lots of people, both teachers and students, said, "Hannah, I heard about what happened to your dad. I'm so sorry." I made get well soon cards for Daddy. When I got home, I wished Isaiah a happy birthday. He said, "I wish it was a happy birthday, but it's not. I wish Dad never had that stroke. And why did it have to be before my 7th birthday?" On Sunday, we all went to church. After church, I found Jed crying in the back room while making a get well soon card for Daddy. The card said, "I miss you, Dad. Please come back." Then, we all went to visit Daddy in the hospital.
How old we all were on the day of Daddy's stroke:
    A. Daddy: 54.
    B. Mommy: 39.
    C. Me: 16. (Autism spectrum.)
    D. Joseph: 13.
    E. Seth: 11. (Autism spectrum.)
    F. Zach: 10.
    G. Jed: 8.
    H. Isaiah: Almost 7.
    I. Jeremiah: 4.
How old we are all now:
    A. Daddy: 66.
    B. Mommy: 51.
    C. Me: 28.
    D. Joseph: 25. (Navy.)
    E. Seth: 23.
    F. Zach: 22.
    G. Jed: 20.
    H. Isaiah: 18.
    I. Jeremiah: 16.
Daddy now lives in the local nursing home, where he's in good hands. Growing up, my little brothers and I had to witness Daddy constantly going to the hospital due to heart attacks, eating an unhealthy diet, and taking pills to prevent heart attacks.
When Daddy was a very little boy, he only wanted to eat desserts. Growing up, he only wanted steak sandwiches and desserts. The only fruits he loved were grapes, apples, and oranges. The only vegetables he loved were onions, bell peppers, and lima beans. The only exercise he got was from playing baseball, his favorite sport. When he was only 37 years old, he suffered a massive heart attack. Despite his constant heart attacks, he often went to work and went on multiple business trips. He also preached church and took the family on vacations. He also taught me and my little brothers how to play the violin. He also played the piano keyboard. He also celebrated everybody's birthdays. When Daddy was younger, he had multiple surgeries. He got his appendix taken out. When I was 5 years old, Daddy had to get his chest and arm cut open. It was so hard to grow up like that. Zach picked up on Daddy's unhealthy diet. Whenever we go to visit Daddy in his nursing home, Mommy says, "Zach, you need to start eating healthy, exercising, and losing weight! If you don't do any of those, you'll end up like your dad in the future!" Every day, people go to visit Daddy. I mail those same people handwritten Bible verses so they can read them to Daddy. Daddy's little and only brother, my uncle Andrew, often goes to visit Daddy. Andrew lives near Daddy's nursing home, so that's why. Jeremiah had to grow up with a bedridden and wheelchair-bound father who couldn't talk in complete sentences. When Jeremiah was 5 years old, he was at home since he wasn't in school yet. He saw Daddy failing to get up . He saw Daddy's falling over. He saw Daddy's head gushing blood. He saw Daddy lying unconscious. He went upstairs to tell Mommy. When Mommy came downstairs, she called 911 and her youngest sister, my aunt Dop. Dop and the paramedics arrived. Daddy was taken to the hospital while Mommy rode with him. Dop babysat Jeremiah and cleaned up all the blood from the carpet and the walls. She even said, "This house looks like a crime scene!" When my other little and I got home from school, Jeremiah told us that Daddy fell down and that he was taken to the hospital. No kid that age should have ever witnessed something like that. But luckily, Daddy survived. When Jeremiah started going to school, he told everyone in his kindergarten class all about Daddy's stroke.
It was extremely hard for me and my little brothers, who were all children at the time of Daddy's stroke, to witness all of that.

So my mother and my life has been affected in so many ways by the negligence of the hospital to recognize or simply admitt that she was not prepared properly for anesthesia. She has coronary artery disease and from what I have learned since from a heart doctor she seen after. They were supposed to put some type of warmers on her legs to keep blood flowing properly but did not and a clit formed in her left leg as you can see on the video that went up through the lung and into the brain causing a mini stroke. When she's having it. This is my opinion but obvious on her video. Nothing was done in the way of timely attention to stroke victim. I'm guessing to save embarrassment then after the fact the records are barried in code where it is not destroyed but impossible to find. So no proper diagnosis no proper treatment now three years later dementia and still no propere diagnosis of the cause of the dementia so no proper treatment for her. It is heart breaking to see her mind deteriorate day after day and know that to this day no one cares enough to help her or myself find answers to why nothing was done in those critical moments to help. It hurts my heart to say but I have lost all trust and confidence in the medical community in there wanting to put the welfare of the patient first ahead of the al mighty dollar. I hope that doesn't offend anyone but as you will see on the comments none or very few will even comment on this let alone tell me who oversees the doctors and hospitals to help. You are just not interested.ifvyiuvthink I am just a crazy son that lives his mom too much to accept a diagnosis then ask me for evidence of my story. Ask me to see the video then look for the records that should be redilt available

My mother was told she had a phewmonia after a colonoscopy. But they check the lungs and heart. And to me having had a severe respiratory infection for a long timee it clearly was not phewmonia. It was a TIA. I just am not positive that TIA can cause of dementia but my heart says that the TIA that I'm sure She had post sergery in 2019 is what triggered the dementia and her irregular heart beat she now has. If this is not correct than why hold the records of this day that not even her doctors can see it. They are not even sure this colonoscopy existed if not for the video of her that I took while she was having this post anesthesia event. Her doctor that works for the hospital said that they are admitting guilt by withholding the records and vitals
