VCU Professor previews first Presidential debate between Trump, Biden

For the first time in this election cycle, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will go head-to-head on Thursday in a 90-minute debate in Atlanta hosted by CNN.
“Both candidates have to walk in there saying 'This really means something, because I can just move 1,000 people this way or 1,000 people that way,' that may be the difference in who wins,” VCU Political Science Professor Bill Newmann told 8News.
Newmann says with polls showing a tight race in the Commonwealth, Virginia voters will be focused on key issues like reproductive rights and inflation.
