i watched the whole video even though i have no intention of getting an apprenticeship hahah, surprised it has so little views. very high quality informative/entertaining content, keep it up!
I’ve been practicing but I feel like the style I’ve developed that is very loose and messy doesn’t translate well to reproducing other art or images that people may want. My line work definitely outshines my anatomy though. People have told me I’d make a good tattoo artist but I struggle so much with fundamentals. I’m considering taking an art class to help me. Thanks for making informative videos about irl tattooing!!! I also want a job where I can give people value through art!
There are some amazing artists that have posted excellent tutorials if you're having trouble finding classes in your area! Practice is the best teacher, but if you really want to hone in your anatomy skills, I recommend a live figure drawing class! You'll for sure want to tighten up your sketches before you begin tattooing, but I've seen some very talented artists develop their style so the looseness looks deliberate. You're going to do great!!
I did online apprenticeship and practiced in real life on practice skins, fruit, stretch skin with prosthetics to stretch skin on. Then I moved onto friends sleeves slowly but surely. I took the apprehensive approach and was very strict with my work from lining, shading, textures, covering up my mistakes. I was far too concerned with messing up any tattoo I did. Which ultimately is a good thing, it pushed me to become better and do my absolute best. Still effects the way I move today. Too many tattooists I know do not care about making mistakes. They are fine with a client being happy on the way out the door, but the cold truth is, the clients always take days to months to start hating the tattoos. It's on their skin forever so they have time to rethink their love/hate relationship with their newly acquired tattoo. I didn't have to be anyone's bitch and learned from very talented tattooists. Online apprenticeships are the future. I'm by no means a master tattoo artist, but every client I've had loves their tattoos years later. I'm constantly learning and pushing to improve.
Been following you for along time! I’m excited to see your achievements 🎉 I really take appreciation to all of the knowledge you have to drop on us. I would like to see a video about your stincle process and values. Alsoooooo a video of you working on some fake skin! Some monsters 😊 Mahalo!
I think RUclips is great, so you can really pick and chose based on skill level. I'd recommend some art classes at your local college, since one-on-one is really best!
