I would genuinely like to see you make a red stone "handbook" explaining all the redstone components and what they actually do from a technical redstone pov
I bought the originals too around 2014, gosh does the building one suck today, only notable tutorial that's good enough is the bridge one and maybe the castle one. Every other tutorial is mediocre at best (the big house sucks compared to what I've learned to do)
True, but you know that using modern redstone, Cube's elevator can still be compacted a ton. Plus, the elevator Crafty demonstrated is more practical, as if you want to build this in survival, you wouldn't build an entire building just to hide the massive redstone.
@@numpadinfinite3366 you also just wouldn’t make a redstone elevator in survival unless you were dedicated enough to the point you would create a building
The redstone torch clock was used back in alpha/beta before repeaters were a thing. You just made repeaters with two redstone torches to revert and restore the signal twice
5:34 it probably shows that first t flip flop, as well as the first clock, as an easier way of understanding how it works, rather than the 2nd circuits which at first glance looks intimidating
11:25 I know from experience that a Jeb door is not spamproof. I've had to partially rebuild my Jeb doors many times because I accidentally double right clicked really fast.
Nice! I have some knowledge, or better some subconsciousness, of how to redstone but it's with this kind of content that I'm learning proper names and definitions to the contraptions I make, and so forth I'm always better at figuring out a circuit, a solution which fits what i want the contraption to perform. Thankyou Crafty!
If you're thinking that no one uses "pulse shortener", than I have to dissapoint you, and tell you that I'm not just calling those pulse shorteners, but I'm also calling an RS nor latch "memory".
5:49 ive seen it used in a creeper farm. the thing was hooked up to a hopper clock and each time a hopper was emptied the t-flip flop would power the empty hopper so that the items in the other hopper could empty, making for a compact and easily increasable/decreasable clock. the clock was then hooked up to the water mechanism in the farm. edit: 9:00 this is what i meant. its the same mechanism as in 5:49, just expanded upon.
I have as well, there were some other variations of the same T-Flip Flop since droppers and observers simply did not exist at the time. It's ironically the design my head still goes to when I think of a T-Flip Flop
13:45 NO it doesn't even holds up to its time. This cannon is extremely tnt inefficient, big, can only spread at one place, does minimal dmg, doesn't penetrate water (that's no must to have) and its super slow, its not even a good option for survival applications (never say anything is good unless u ve studied it for at least 500 playhours (or just do a citation)
As well as this book, I own this Minecraft Redstone For Dummies book that goes into like 200 pages worth of command syntax and redstone components, highly recommend
@@ShootBigBucks it would be easier if it was consistent Java redstone: 2+2=7 100% of the time Bedrock redstone: 2+2=4 80% of the time Java redstone has more quirks and bugs but at least it's consistent (same thing happens every single time when a redstone contraption is activated)
I actually discovered the comparator clock myself. Not like “I was the first one” but like I was just messing around and just discovered it only to find out it was already used and known
I feel like you seriously misunderstood what the redstone handbook is for, the fact that you included 0 tick circuits shows this. It's not meant to explain the circuits that go into the huge, complicated contraptions of today's redstone - it's meant to introduce little timmy to the concept of it. That's why the ideas and contraptions in it are so simple, it's not just a product of its time.
Vary true but the way redstone works changes a lot overtime for a example in Java redstone used to break off pistons when activated and from what i know that’s changed.
i remember having these books, unfortunately i accidentaly ripped the pages and lost them in the process. but i still have the newer version of the handbooks.
CraftyMasterman talking about flip flops "No one has ever used this design in front of me" Me who always used that design cuz it was the only one I knew: :X
i used to use that 2nd t-flip flop...however the one i use now im confused as to why i never see anyone else using just a dispenser facing down into a hole with a bucket of water in it and a comparator facing out
My lava trap actualy uses end crystals instead of lava so when there is no items in the chest it imediately kills you but it destroyes the soroundings as well
I honestly though he was about to make a 0 tick 2x2 seamless flush piston door as a 'minor' upgrade also you upgrade to the trap chest means if you use your hotbar number keys you can swap stacks and not trigger anything the books are built for java + bedrock so 0 tick monstables have no chance of getting into an official guide
i had them all... its a shame i lost them somewhere in the house. i hope my mother didnt throw them out, but im guessing she didnt, because at the time she had more of an addiction than me
NEVER say "IDK how it works", instead investigate and explain it to the audience (it works because: Tick1: observer on, comparator turned off Tick 2: If repeater is off: repeater gets activated, comparator turns on and locks repeater If repeater is on: observer tries to activate repeater but u can't activate a repeater that's already off, after that the repeater turns off and comparator gets turned on again, locking the comparator)

Wait crafty did a body reveal
@Blook bruh ik
Whos to say thats hisbody
Why not a face reveal

@Blook where?
I bought all of the Minecraft handbooks a few years back

Cube's elevator does way more than that, you can go to any floor from any floor, you just made it worse :)

he has made one with the same functionality in a different video tho. its a bubble elevator
I mean jL2579 made a good modern Minecraft elevator.

Did you use observers?
The original Jeb door is spam proof. If you spam it, the blocks will go out of place, but by just flicking the lever slowly it’ll fix itself.

Crafty is steve minecraft confirmed
18:15 godo make stopwatch that detects which phase of the tick the pulse is turned off in
9:05 Oh, ya! That clock is very useful for _spills._
The last Maziuma video was indeed splendid.

this is what i meant. its the same mechanism as in 5:49, just expanded upon.
When they make the new GUI, this should be a feature. Maybe even add a tutorial world from console edition.
Making redstone tutorial channels irrelevant, how nice?
Its not like they are going to put in *every* redstone device
I've seen the T-FF at 5:42 quite a bit in the past. But now it's just outclassed by droppers and observers.

If someone where to release a video that goes super into detail even if it was boring I'd watch it

Can't wait to get this at the next book fair!
Yee but the combat handbook
this is by far one of your best vids
2023:crafty should make a video of how he got into redstone and how he made his first 3x3 with the whole designing process
I consider observers to be way cheaper than repeaters or sticky pistons, honestly
collecting slime and smelting cobblestone sucks lol
Better make a bedrock one next time smh...
Nice vid btw 👍

if you dont have the minecraft handbooks you're not a true gamer

smh I don't have it
so im not a true gamer
And if you have the offical updated redstone handbook ur a true true gamer so my library is a gamer lmao

I have all 4

for a example in Java redstone used to break off pistons when activated
and from what i know that’s changed.
There is also new books from 2018/19
I could take Technoblade in PVP because I have all four handbooks.
Let’s make a complete encyclopedia of redstone
Anyone who has these books knows the smell they have, the crisp library smell
i remember having these books, unfortunately i accidentaly ripped the pages and lost them in the process. but i still have the newer version of the handbooks.
I lost mine when moving to a new province.
12:01 Omg it’s surprising how many people don’t really look too close at chest though
CraftyMasterman talking about flip flops "No one has ever used this design in front of me"
Me who always used that design cuz it was the only one I knew: :X
This book taught me most of my redstone knowledge
Also I think they are remaking them as there is a new creative handbook in my local store
Yeah, my sibling has the new combat book.
It's still basic stuff though. ):
And the recommended kits are trash.
I have one word, nostalgia
I had a limited edition pvp booklet and it was legit just the original book but with a sticker saying limited edition
My man needs more subs he deserves more subs.! Keep up the good work
I got that exact Redstone book and a building book in 2013 for Christmas
"Here's a door, there's a door. Compilation over."
Is this the whole content?.. this is the conten, This is the content
12:05 If a player dies to lava, the items he picked up will burn (except for Netherite ofc). It would be better with stalagmites or just a deep pit
This feels just like I am learning math all over again
I had two of them, the redstone and pvp. Legendary books, i read them atleast 10 times each when i was 8-10
Lol everytime you said that no one uses this, I realized that I do lol. No worries, I was not offended. Good Vid
I watched this live and it was great
Tnt cannon doesnt hold up at all we have cannons that make a 4x4 hole in endstone so long u get chunkloadong issues
My friend had an extra copy of all of them so they gave them to me, it changed me, made me enlightened 😇
12:36 lets just look at this redstone its super simple and all we have is something thats complicated.
as someone who has all four books, i adore this.
not the hero we deserved...
but the hero we needed.
5:50 this is the t flip flop i used to use in bedrock edition because most of the java edition ones dont work on bedrock
I still remember when we got our ears blown out by fence gates in redstone. I don’t get why they removed that since they just made it more confusing.
TBF, for colourblind people, it can be hard to differentiate between a chest and a trapped chest

Could you please consider adding a music list to your descriptions? :) thank you love you bb 😚
5:38 I've used this circuit for years because of that book :(

*YOU CANNOT UPGRADE THE PERFECTION THAT IS THE HANDBOOK*
Its old as fuck, but I wish I didn't donate them them to my classmates
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeet
i have all of the original handbooks and i'm proud to say this for no reason whatsoever
12:15 yes, this design is pretty „invisible“, but it is not refresheble.
The sand is wasted after one use.
I am a certified minecraft man as shown by my all 4 books
5:32 *copper bulb joins the chat*
18:13 you can just download a mod that lets you speed up your TPS (like the carpet mod)
I have a better idea for a trap chest. *puts a ban book in the chest*
i used to use that 2nd t-flip flop...however the one i use now im confused as to why i never see anyone else using just a dispenser facing down into a hole with a bucket of water in it and a comparator facing out
If the water gets anywhere the redstone will all break
@@3vorp it cant, its a 1 block hole
You can now replace the water with powdered snow so that it is more compact and it does not destroy the Redstone
@@Josh-km5vk yup
I guess Mumbo liked your idea
I own the full collection of handbooks in swedish, which is kinda like owning the Bible in Medieval Latin.
5:50 litterly build a fireplace wich opens up with this on pe while riding in a bus
Also, you forgot to put a link to Etho's Lab's channel in the description. You mentioned him on "Etho Hopper Clock"

I remember building all these when I was a kid..........
I not only know about them, I HAVE them... (Sadly only 2 of them, redstone and building)
OMYGOD

i got my redstone handbook in 2015 asa present for christmas... it was 6 years ago :o
I think both of those youtubers are still uploading Redstone, just inconsistently.
yeh same i read all books in my house but i run out so i reread them
