I was born in early 2005, and I remember Frutiger Aero being the very first aesthetic I actually recognized as, well, an aesthetic. Would you ever consider an episode about surreal screensavers? It feels like a fever dream memory though because I've yet to find it.
It’s bizarre to me that the goodnight show is lost media, I watched that every night when I stayed at my great grandmas house. I wonder how much lost media I’ve seen and am unaware of.

I say this every time i hear about this style but back in the day i noticed the style of everything being water and bubbles and primarly blue, green and yellow. And I had friends that had no clue what I was talking about and just thought I was just seeing it everywhere because I was looking for it😂. I remember arguing with one of them once saying why the hell does everything try to look like its covered in sprite and in sprite colors?
Spore was a much different game in its alpha/beta stages - being more realistic, having more stages like an aquatic stage, etc. I never followed Spore's development, but I understand why those who did were disappointed by the final product. Were there ever any 3DSs that had a blue circle pad like is shown at 16:59? I've seen (what I believe are) renders on online store pages, but never one in real life. All circle pads on all colors and variants of 3DS consoles are gray without exception so I wonder what the deal is.
I know you asked this question 5 months ago, but the physical prototype shown at E3 2010 did have the matching circle pad. Wikipedia has a photo of it! Considering that there were playable demos at that E3, it's likely an operable one existed at one point, but good luck actually finding one now.
@@kathrynredmond5294 You're right! The 3DSs at E3 all had circle pads that matched the console's color! It's hard to see in most videos because people's thumbs cover them but I didn't see a single gray analog stick. IGN has a hands-on video with Fran Mirabella III that shows off a black 3DS very clearly. I wonder why Nintendo changed the design at the last minute. And I wonder where all these colorful consoles went afterward 🤔
@@guy-sl3kr Could be anything from cost to supplier availability to durability to performance to it not being satisfying to use during extensive play testing. Looks like ones thumb would slide right off it in more intensive games.
For me Frutiger Aero started with gen 6 consoles and ended with gen 7. Dreamcast definitely helped kick off the start of it and it kinda ended with the Wii, XB360, and PS3.
I didnt remember the good night show by the title alone but the lady and the star puppet!! I dont think i was in the age range for it but my sister would have been if so, and I remember seeing little bits and pieces of it on occasion
the goodnight show🥺🥺🥺man... i had no idea that any of it was lost media. I watched it just about every night. i remember segments where they would do sand drawing and another one where they showed that you could color a page rainbow, draw over all of it wirh black crayon, and then use a coin or fingernail to scratch off the top layer to make a pretty rainbow picture. I'd love to see a full video about the subject it seems that aesthetics like this are so popular because they are nostalgic. It makes me wonder: is that a good sign because we are connecting with are childhoods in a positive way? or is it a bad sign because we dont want to live in our current reality and we want to go back to being a child forever? for those of us with somewhat rocky childhoods, its sad to realize that so many of our positive childhood memories came from TV, the internet, and video games, rather than school, family, physical activity, and friends

Good video but I gotta say, the tune played at 4:51 kinda jumpscared me because it's my phone's ringtone lol. Also, I've never heard of Zanpo before this video, but now I wish I did cuz that's definitely the sort of game I'd have played religiously as a kid.
YTer SewerReviewer made a lost media vid on Spore's cut content months ago.
You keep making videos like this I’m gonna subscribe
i was born in 2004 and grew up with windows 7 era computers while i was 5-12 years old. i wanna go back to those simpler times
ALL MY HOMIES LOVE FRUTIGER AERO 🐟🐟🐟
this is just so nice and glossy at this point
ok so i swear i remember watching something like this on tv when i was reallly little. i had cable tv and i would watch it alll the time.
cool video, nice way to connect two semi connected RUclips tropes into one cohesive theme. Cheers!
Zanpo looks so much fun, I wish I knew about it. I assume it had success if it lasted almost 20 years. I bet people have a lot of fond memories of it.
Foo pets is lost!? Thats so sad, I loved that game as a kid! This fr unlocked like hidden core memories in me hahaha
The FA era was when I got my first computer, it's nice to now have a label for such a nostalgic aesthetic.
i was starting to fall asleep but i geninely jumped up when i heard littlebigplanet 8:37
i genuinely got so excited
-Pretend we're in 2007
Okke, I was born. What's next? 😰
Do yall remember the og ps3 photos tab it had such bright colors and such it reminds me of this aesthetic
I remember being like 4 and watching the Goodnight Show. Such a fever dream.
Bro I remember the good night show. Crazy that it’s mostly lost
As someone who used the 3ds nintendo video (didnt have phone) I remember there being bravest warriors clips/trailers and other federator clips
I don’t remember that much frutiger aero, being born a few years before it declined, but I remember seeing it in my school and on my PS3.
I'd love to see a full video about the subject
it seems that aesthetics like this are so popular because they are nostalgic.
