thank you YB and herbert for trying indonesian foods. as an indonesian myself, sometimes i do feel the spice is too much to handle but my mom always said "it's spicy that's why it's delicious." lol. anyway hope you like it!❤️
love the little research that you did everytime you try food from other countries! and yesss Indonesians really really love spicy food that even some of us would still added more chili to the already super spicy korean fire noodle😅
As an Indonesian that used to live in LA, I used to go to Simpang Asia a lot! My fave is the nasi goreng jagger & nasi bungkus (but try the spicy one!). Love that you took the time to research about each food!! ♥️
Your pronounciation is fine. Those are really huge size dishes. My mom cooks really good Indonesian food. I just have to wait for her to make them during holidays hahaha. But I also cook a lot easy Indonesian food at home, i.e. Ayam goreng (fried chicken), rendang and soto ayam. I do miss martabak, watching this video just encourages me to make one.
aah i would've never expected you to try indonesian foods, yb! but i really appreciate that you did a little research before hand on how to pronounce/how to eat some of these foods, bc most creators dont do that. love the video!
actually you can mix those nasi goreng with mie tek tek topping of with sate ayam peanut sauce, that how we enjoy food, a little bit of one and another, somehow it suits well. lol enjoy your Indonesian food!
we indonesians looooove our spicy stuff. its what makes the food good! also love that little geography section and the fact that you guys ate nasi bungkus with hands haha (oh and you pronounced everything nicely!! you did a great job!)
As an Indonesian I'm very excited for this video!! 🇲🇨🇲🇨 I hope you enjoy Indonesian foods! Indonesian love their spices so much, sometimes even us have hard time eating lol Also, a bit of a shame you guys didn't get to try Rendang, it's one of our best food
as a dutch person i love indonesian food! this is a former colony of us and these people are like our brothers. we love there food and they even love ours. but 1 big thing im missing is the rendang! rendang is bomb!!!!!! and herbert normaly we eat nasi with the sate! then its not "dry" at all! greetings from amsterdam
Really enjoyed this YB! My grandparents are German and a lot of these dishes are things that we make. Sausage with sauerkraut or pork with sauerkraut is generally at every major holiday. Also we do pork chops cooked like Wienerschnitzel. So this was a lot of fun for me! Great to see your brother as well! 🙋♀️💗
Yaaassss!!! Been waiting for this!! It looked so bomb tho.. I think it would not have been as spicy if you ate the chicken with the white rice. Technically a whole egg is a whole chicken :p
I think technically a whole egg is half a chicken because it's just the egg, your mom didn't make you from just an egg. Unless we're talking about balut which is in fact a whole chicken in an egg. 🙂
Came to this channel for YB and food. Also stayed because Herbert is a legend. My grandmother is German so hearing his accent is so comforting and nostalgic. His humour is also very typical German. Love your channel and content. Thanks from Down Under 🇦🇺🤠
You guys do what I do and get a bunch of stuff to try and then enjoy leftovers all week. Great video! I’ll have to remember that restaurant if I get to LA.
You have a wide knowledge of Indonesia and Indonesian food. Awesome. Respect to you all because you dare to eat spicy food. Not many foreigners can't handle the level of spiciness.
i really enjoy that the whole pack is on camera. the dog and the cat, i'm sorry i don't know their name, but you guys look cute in one frame. i expect to see the kids again in next video. anyway, love from Indonesia!!
as an indonesian and food babies fan i really really happy that you enjoy our cuisines ngl we’re pretty crazy on spices and portion but u know its an asian thing😂 also i really appreciate that u did the research before filming aaaaa i love u yb❤️
Hey YB!! I have been your fan since you're in buzzfeed and I'm from Indonesia. Iwant to say thank you so much for trying our food and I di really agree with you guys that most indonesian food is spicy and even there are places that sell like fried noodle with 20-30ish chili which is VERY VERY SPICY. yeah I hope you guys like the indonesian food❤❤
Hi YB! I just watch this video and i'm excited that you try some Indonesian food. Hopefully, you along with the try guys could come to Indonesia and try the OG version. I believe you could handle the real Indonesian spicy food really well :)
Whatt I used to think YB can actually handle Indonesian spicy cuisine, since you always win those spicy food challenge with alex and the guys 😆 but overall you handle it well 💚💚 now I am curious if Keith's wife, Becky can handle the spice since you two can handle spicy food the best
Whoa, I suggested YB to try Indonesian food then I missed this video for a week 😭😭 thank you YB and Herbert to tried our food! And kuddos to YB did some amazing background research, learned some vocabularies.. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️btw, chicken satay in bahasa is "Sate Ayam" (the "e" pronounced as for "egg")
Love this video. Love the fact that you did a research beforehand 😆 I hope you finished that nasi bungkus after the shoot cause any food with santan (coconut milk) spoil really fast 😂
Yeah - the food of my people! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The nasi goreng's too dry? It shouldn't be but feel free to add freshly sliced cucumber or pickled veggies. Personally, I love satay kambing and the savoury martabak (it has a ground beef, eggs, onions filling in a thin, crispy shell).
You should try Rinjani in glendale next time! Its the closest indonesian food in LA that taste closed to home. For martabak manis you should try martabak cafe instead 🥰
Omg, not just u try our food but u did the explanation about the facts of our country! I hope u could try Indonesian food with the try guys! Thanks, YB ❤️
We eat a lot of Indonesian food here in the Netherlands🤗 In the past, a lot of Indonesian people came to the Netherlands and opened restaurants. There are still a lot of Indonesian restaurants here. 😄😄 I love it!
Just love your videos and it’s so much fun exploring all of these new foods with you! About the closest we have here in South Florida is Chinese takeout. They do have some interesting varieties of things which I am always afraid to try but I am going to be brave and try something new and crazy. Hugs you guys!! 🌈🌈🌈
The satay gravy (peanut sauce) supposed to be poured, not to dip, therefore the chicken meat will soften a bit, & not dried. Okay must say I’m salivating now 🤤
Really love these "mukbang" videos you guys are doing 😍. I wonder how are you guys staying so fit? Anyways, YB and Herbert keep trying out foods by other countries. 😘😘😘
I wish to see you do a martabak mukbang next time! It's a Indonesian style of pancake. It's a very enjoyable dish, you can get the salty version or the sweet version of it////
TBH there alot varieties of Indonesia Fried Rice, Usually it will be dried (kind of crispy TBH) because i think lot of indonesian really familiar with that type, but also there is the kind of saucy one, like korean fried rice (bokkeumbap
You should try stink beans aka petai. Usually they fry it in sambal belachan, so it is spicy. Another one of my fav and must eat whenever i go to Indonesia is their goreng pisang aka fried banana. They top it with shredded cheese, chocolate syrup, and sweet condensed milk.
I love you both ❤ you both even though your never luvy duvy your love for each other beams from ur faces and keep up the good job on the videos iam benge watching your videos 🎉
Nasi Goreng, Risoles and Chicken satay it's kind of on the spot meal that you have to eat when they fresh from the oven.. coz when you save it for later it will dry and unpleasent to eat..
that nasi bungkus looks fuckin fire thooo and that portion size?? i would've lived like a king if my nasi bungkus meals from college were that big, also your pronunciations are great! also martabak is so good cos of the amount of butter they put in it lol
Some Indonesian foods are also good even when they're cold (like, room temperature cold (with the exception of summer heat), not fridge cold), so... since you we're having them for a whole week, not too bad, I guess?
thank you YB and herbert for trying indonesian foods. as an indonesian myself, sometimes i do feel the spice is too much to handle but my mom always said "it's spicy that's why it's delicious." lol. anyway hope you like it!❤️
the spices add so much! I love it 🥰
love the little research that you did everytime you try food from other countries! and yesss Indonesians really really love spicy food that even some of us would still added more chili to the already super spicy korean fire noodle😅
omg the fire noodles kill me already 🤣
Wow, I love the history and geography lesson. I didn't know Indonesia was that diverse
Never have I imagined YB and Herbert trying Indonesian food. You're definitely pronouncing the names in the correct way, that's fine!
As an Indonesian that used to live in LA, I used to go to Simpang Asia a lot! My fave is the nasi goreng jagger & nasi bungkus (but try the spicy one!). Love that you took the time to research about each food!! ♥️
Yay thank you for trying indonesian food! We are rarely represented so I appreciate it
they were so so good!
YB your pronounce for my country food is almost perfect

Your pronounciation is fine. Those are really huge size dishes. My mom cooks really good Indonesian food. I just have to wait for her to make them during holidays hahaha. But I also cook a lot easy Indonesian food at home, i.e. Ayam goreng (fried chicken), rendang and soto ayam. I do miss martabak, watching this video just encourages me to make one.
omg i would love to be able to make these! especially the martabak
aah i would've never expected you to try indonesian foods, yb! but i really appreciate that you did a little research before hand on how to pronounce/how to eat some of these foods, bc most creators dont do that. love the video!
Herbert's a pro now scooping rice onto the spoon with chopsticks!
true!!
actually you can mix those nasi goreng with mie tek tek topping of with sate ayam peanut sauce, that how we enjoy food, a little bit of one and another, somehow it suits well. lol enjoy your Indonesian food!

really appreciate the mention of indonesian cuisines' diverse influences! thanks YB ❤️
Thanks for highlighting Indonesia in this video. I'm half Indonesian & miss this food a lot. It's hard to find it here in Florida. :)
they were so good!
It's nice to see you two eat. I love how he tell her that it's okay if she may spell the name wrong. I am agree with him! 😀
Yummm - just discovered Indonesian food for the first time this year - now I"m in love! SPICIER THE BETTER MUHAHAH!
we indonesians looooove our spicy stuff. its what makes the food good! also love that little geography section and the fact that you guys ate nasi bungkus with hands haha (oh and you pronounced everything nicely!! you did a great job!)
So happy to see this as an Indonesian 🥰
❤️❤️
As an Indonesian I'm very excited for this video!! 🇲🇨🇲🇨 I hope you enjoy Indonesian foods! Indonesian love their spices so much, sometimes even us have hard time eating lol
