    I love thats just an enormous metal wedge with a neck and strings sticking out of it. the capacity for low-tone resonance is gargantuan

    I love the cyborgian feel. Definitely an industrial sounding resonance, but with a familiar organic attack.

    Иногда в старых домах такой звук издают такие же старые водопроводные трубы.😊
    Ну или, как вариант, эти звуки подойдут для озвучки фантастического фильма на космические темы. Они хорошо передадут всю таинственность происходящего.😮😊

      It seems the resonating chamber is a giant triangular prism made of metal. From its sounds it is clearly not “just” anything though! I want one haha!

    • @mi85art
      @mi85art Месяц назад +2

      @paulflute
      Not even thát odd, if you keep the balalaika bass in mind.
      The echo chamber is a big plus.
      Then again, playability might be an even bigger no…

    Seems simple enough to make for someone who knows how to weld stainless steel. No complex curves to have to bend and could be made from recycled materials.

    I can make the same sounds on my double bass, if I take full metal strings. On classical strings a double bass sounds warmer.
    What you hear here is also the result of how it is recorded.

      @@DomenicoMelchiorre great and smart reply. I have to back out of this as I don't have full metal strings and off course it will never sound exactly the same. And I am all for experimenting and building unusual instruments!
      Good luck!

    • @MTG_Music
      @MTG_Music Месяц назад

      I think a large portion of the sound is the fact that it's basically a big plate reverb (which a traditional double bass is not)
