DO NOT GET A TAXI OUTSIDE THE PODGORICA BUS TERMINAL. When you come out of the terminal, turn left and walk to the main road, you will find lots of taxi on the road and the prices will be proper. Bus terminal taxi's are a ripoff and sharks. They should be ashamed at taking advantage of non locals.
Great Video. The bus journeys would bother me to, but have to be done. Very nice Digs you got too. Hope you find a great supermarket for a food shop. Montenegro looks great !
Yes there are a few here, we did shopping today but only managed to film in one.. the other 2, 1 had signs no cameras and the other told me no way would they allow me to film. The bus trips are what they are... the worst part of them is the bathroom situation, so we always never eat or drink many hours before getting on a bus ride. Glad you liked the video, we have more ready to upload!
Looks divine, Bijela and BnB. I had the same issue arriving on Sunday to Podgorica and bought some food at a bakery and a pizza shop where I stayed. Ever since I tried not to arrive anywhere on Sunday unless I carried some leftovers from the previous place. It's quite cheap to take a bus to Budva or Sveti Stefan in case you get bored. I loved Old Town in Budva, as well as somewhat expensive specialty (flat white) coffee in there called Casper Coffee Bar. I decided to stay in Sutomore and travel to Bar, Budva, Petrovac or Kotor from there. it cost me less and still had gorgeous beaches nearby. I truly loved this beautiful country with its beaches and mountains. Kotor is absolutely stunning. So is Skadar lake.
Great video again guys ❤ Looking forward to seeing more of Bijela and how it compares with our Saranda. Cheap meal wow ! Hope you found a Spar or something. 🫶
Thanks! There are some very good supermarkets here in Bijela for such a small town. You can't really compare the two places, this is much smaller with way less going on.
Jay, you are so grumpy! it's hilarious! Most RUclipsrs won't film on their travel days since they are so challenging. You, like me, HATE being taken advantage of. Your videos are certainly keep it real. I wish I were there in Montenegro. We are retiring in less than a year and will not be selling our home. But, we hope to travel similar to your and Sarah's style. I hope the airBNB supports a wonderful stay. Is there AC, is it needed? I look forward to seeing what the next 6 weeks bring.
I certainly don't filter my thoughts, you get the real deal when we make a video about anything. That will never change. The AirBnb has been great so far, except just 5 minutes ago the plastic patio chair on the deck collapsed and I hit my head and arm on the building. I think the plastic just got brittle from being in the sun for years and snapped. Good times! Yes absolutely AC is needed here. Our place has AC in the bedroom which makes sleeping great. In the main area there is none, but we open all the doors and a lovely breeze comes through. It is quite humid here as of late. A few showers a day. We've about 5 weeks left here, they will be nice.. it's a quiet place and we plan to do some more videos while we are here. The small fridge here makes food storage and such a bit challenging, had we paid more attention to the listing we would have noticed it. We know now that this is something we can have a challenge with. Live and learn. We sold our home not because we needed the capital, but we figured it would be a drain on income with maintenance and insurance while we were not there... and were not interested in renting it out given the tenant laws where we live. If someone stopped paying rent, it would be a major problem if we were overseas and could take a half a year or longer to get them out.. without any rent coming in. We decided the money was best put to use other ways. Everyone's situation is different, that is the joy of this lifestyle.
Thank you and thanks for watching!!! Yes, we have learned this now. Normally we wouldn't be bothered, it just so happened it was the day we arrived and had zero food supplies. Point to note - don't arrive on Sundays to new places! Haha. Cheers! Jay.
Completely, eh. We really just see these sort of differences as part of the adventure in our new lives. Obviously things are not what they will be like at home.. and quite honestly, good... because we left for a reason.
💕 your videos! Have been watching for almost 2 months now. My wife and I are going for our 25th anniversary to Albania to check it out and your trip there helped us decide
We did! There is one main road that runs around the Bay of Kotor... it is the route you would take to get to Croatia (Dubrovnik). We are on the main road, the traffic can be a bit busy at times - especially lots of motorbikes coming or going for in particular this weekend... but overall it is not too bad. The view makes up for it! Also there is a lower walking promenade / road that is very quiet and lovely.
Good to know! Just one thing to plan around if you realize this. In Albania this is not the case.. and of course in North America, certainly not the case.. I mean, there are reduced hours and some business for sure do not open on Sunday, but in particular grocery shopping is a 7 day a week operation. If you closed grocery stores on Sundays there, it would be absolute chaos. People do not shop a bit here a bit there through the week, they do one large shop with their cars weekly... and most people will go on the weekends. Reducing those days by half would be quite a situation I think. It's the way people have been conditioned to shop by the retail giants I suppose. We'd rather have a day closed here and a much nicer local shopping experience. We just buy what we need for maybe 2 days at a time.

Completely agree.👍

Ah! Wondering where you were at! Looking forward to catching up!!!!!!!
I see where you are, across from Dobrota. Not far from us really.
God Bless your journey!
Thank you so much! We are having lots of fun, and lots of fun making videos to show people our lives!

It's the same in rural france my friends. If you dont buy what you need on a saturday, you'll be hungry sunday. Safe travels.

Plavi Horizonti...-the best beach
We will check exactly where this is and maybe check it out!!! Thanks for watching!

@@glenreynolds2079 so glad we have helped!!! Thanks for watching!!!!!!
I hope you made it to Monday and found a grocery store. Sounds like too many cars rushing by. Enjoy.

In a lot of european countries everythin except restaurants and gas stations are closed on Sundays, for example in Germany

What did the Airbnb cost? Did I miss hearing it?
I hadn't mentioned it in the video. The cost is $29 USD ($40 CAD) per night.
Give us the price of your Airbnb…please…looks great so far…
About $29 USD a night on a long term stay, booked 6 months in advance.
Wish you would have texted me about Sunday. Actually I should’ve warned you.
Yeah we were very shocked to find no grocery open. It's strange that the Casino's are going.. but yet... weird.
@@JayandSarah 😂 restaurants and tobacco stands are open.
And if all else fails, potato chips from the gas station! lol.
