Darnell is 100% a FS in the NFL. His 4.36 40 is cover 1 type speed.
His Speed is great but another intangible for Safeties is just instinct. Does he simply have the instinct to make a jump on the ball before the play has developed?
My guess is,yes. Could be a true Gem for us another Leader and high potential guy.

Thank you Ken Myles. I was looking forward to Savage video this was awesome but I do disagree I think he can also do the single high Safety especially after his test drills at combine.

All the people who just hearing about DS go watch the Md vs Minnesota Game. He made a Play i have only seen two Safeties in the last 10 years make. Sean Taylor And Ed Reed. Savage was yards and yards away from the ball is was a 4rd and 3rd or something, the Minnesota players gets the ball. All you see is a ROCKET BOOM its Darnell dude must have covered like 30 yards in 2 secs. Knocked the guy out and knocks himself out almost. After that play I knew dude was the best SAFETY in the COUNTRY. Body Like Ed Reed Plays like Brian Dawkins. And i dont throw Brian Dawkins name out there alot.
He would fit in with the rams perfectly

As A Long long time Maryland football fan kinda cool he has blown up like this, 4 years ago he was just some quit kid from Delaware Rb/cb now he is maybe a first round pick. Self made for us, Oh yeah Believe the Hype. He is a real deal. image is Stefon Diggs played on Defense thats who he is.

Size wise he's probably similar to ET. Another 10 lbs after his first year should be enough just to handle bigger guys better.
Watching him ET is the first thing that comes to mind for me. Small dude that can basically tackle anyone and play anywhere.
He’s less than 200 pounds and under 6 feet with 4.3 speed and you think he’s best suited to play around the line of scrimmage??? He’s a ball hawking center fielder type.
This dude flys around and he could be a FS, SS, Slot CB. The dudes the whole package. He sees the field and makes plays.

Which would make savage a box safety. Problem is, he's to small and won't take the pounding in a box safety role.
Rapp is a better all a round and will be a great pro. But Savage we have a better chance at picking up I think. 🤔

Savage reminds me alot of weddle but a little faster. Has that ability to be hybrid safety with great instincts and coverage.

@@kenmyles4078 even in prime weddle has never been this aggressive he was finesse FS with ball skills very smart player but he never played reckless like this guy Savage reminds me of Bob Sanders or a early way they attack ball carriers

5'11 198. His size is just average athlete. That is to say good, but not special. Dude plays hard though. I love that pick 6 play. He makes the play on the ball and then turns around and looks for someone to block. That's a guy that papa rod would start, he's a bit small for Kris though.
At 5'11 198 Most of the best hybrid safeties are about savage size. As an athlete he has great speed, explosion and vertical

Earl Thomas Ed Reed Nick Collins = all 5'10-5'11 same weight his size 2 hof and collins was well on his way until he got hurt this kid if he stays healthy is a perfect ball hawk and missle at the fs spot
