They made her look exactly like she was described in the book. Small frame, small nose, high cheekbones. Unconventional short hairstyle, black emo-ish theme but weirdly attractive. Rooney Mara is the most *PERFECT* casting in a movie adaption I have seen in a loooong time.

I have watched the start of the swedish movie, however i grew tired of it and decided to watch the american version instead. BRILLIANT CHOICE. This film is perfection, it doesn't dwell too long on a scene, it is fast paced, great character development, lots of intensity, along with great fucking actors. now i am usually on the same boat as you guys. I dislike americans remaking classic films/television shows. However this movie is the exception. however, we are all different and like things based on what we have been through/ or are into. so my advice is to give this film a try. it was the best decision for me, and it could be for you too.

I just got done watching all nine hours of the Swedish movie trilogy of this. I considered seeing this one too, but this trailer really leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I can tell already that Lisbeth has been turned from a person into a gimmick. For all the prickliness of Noomi Rapace's performance, she was appealing and engaging from the first frame. She was human, and had an odd, sweet politeness to her. This Lisbeth is a machine. I can't imagine rooting for her.

The movie's quite accurate even though it misses out on some really relevant details regarding the novel, and some parts weren't given as much importance as they deserved for the sake of the story, it deviated a bit from the book and also seemed weak at some points, but I understand it's incredibly complex to compress 841 pages into a couple of hours, they did it well, to be honest this book deserved a sort of series or miniseries in order to show off its true potential, if you read the novel you know there are plenty of details

such potential went to waste. if i remember correctly, sony were not satisfied with viewers' rating and decided not to make a sequel. one of the potential reasons for flop at theaters was that the movie was released close to the holiday season and a lot of people considered it grim (if i am not mistaked, 2 versions were produced - one tailored specially for theaters with some darkest scenes cut and a proper director's cut). anyways, that's one of my most favourite films and I always rewatch it in the new year time).
