I used to say to myself if we only have St Basil the Great today, to break all the locks on churches with one single prayer, everything would be better..and I just realized, we do have in every time new witnesses of Christ; God always will be giving us what we need the most. He will never leave us. I concluded the only thing we need to worry about is our soul and preparing it for Meeting with Our Lord, nothing else. God already is taking care of everything else. But the worry for our own salvation is closely connected to helping our ‘neighbors’, and not ignoring or distancing ourselves from the pain and suffering of others. Not because we can save them (God will!) but because that's the way to save ourselves. That is what Church is. Unity in Truth and Love.

As a laywoman, this series makes my heart far more settled now, thank you. I am very opposed to the churches being closed and even the thought that they would re-open differently to how they were. God forgive me, but I started thinking not go under restricted conditions (such as not being allowed to venerate our holy icons, different spoons etc). How can I approach the chalice if the priest fears we can get sick from sharing the same spoon which is dipped into the holy Blood of Christ? Surely it is cleansed by this action alone? I don't know if this is a temptation by the enemy, so that I avoid partaking in the Body and Blood of Christ, but I felt by doing so in a different way to what I have known, would be a mockery. Thank you Fr Peter and Professor Demetrios!
I’ve heard the same counsel given by wise spiritual fathers in Greece: do not participate in the delusion and in the blasphemy of the holy communion or the holy icons.
Fr Peter, it seems that some are calling your "canonicity" into question (Abp Alexander Golitzin). For the record could you tell us what Church you are currently with? I couldn't find information about this anywhere. Are you with the Church of Greece, or the GOA, or ROCOR?
Father doesn't need to. Is what he's saying true, from God? That's critical. The Lord said those who follow Him, the Truth, will be vilified, persecuted, as He Himself was, but what is that compared to Eternity? May the Lord always guide & be with Father & his guest speakers, keeping him & them ever in Him & protecting them from spiritual harm.
Sectarianism Is Sin 10Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you. 12Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.” 13Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
@@OrthodoxEthos That's not sectarianism, just to inquire what Church you are a priest of. Isn't that a common question? As for me, I am a layman in ROCOR, my bishop is Archbishop Kyrill of SF.
Fr. Peter, please ask Archimandrite Savas if he has any reply to the anonymous priest (if it actually was a priest... anyone can write a letter anonymously) who denounced him, including putting quotes around "elder", very disrespectfully. Certainly the Archimandrite has some response to defend himself against this slander?
"the criterion of the heart, the nous and God informed them of what is right" if people are really uncontrollably compelled to have tattoos, perhaps consider this quote so as to remind themselves and others of the empirical spiritual machinations during their yoga routines.

Regardless, The bishop is more learned than me. But he used an "anonymous priest" as slander, and gave no theological refutation. Zero. None if the arguments were addressed. Rather, they simply made strawman and condemned.
@@claesvanoldenphatt9972 I read this comment in 2016 regarding the ascension of the bishop Alexander:
"Alexander’s MO ever since he was involved with charismatics in Northern California is to denounce and ridicule the critics, engage in personal attacks and character assassination and then flee the topic."
In 2016 someone said that, and you see today, it is true! A hit and run character assassination happening now, with the aid of an anonymous letter (who knows it might even be written by Akexander, or his secretary, there us no proof)
Most Holy Theotokos, save us!
A blessing from God. Thank you.
A few more conversations with the professor and you’ll have enough for a book! Please!
Exactly. ;-)
Thank God.

The Orthodox Ethos thank you Father!
Sectarianism Is Sin
10Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
It would be better if writting to Fr personally through Orthodox Ethos website.
I’m not saying your question is sectarianism.
Not sure he'd want to defend himself from an anonymous slanderer. The Lord didn't & His false accusers didn't hide behind anonymity.
"the criterion of the heart, the nous and God informed them of what is right" if people are really uncontrollably compelled to have tattoos, perhaps consider this quote so as to remind themselves and others of the empirical spiritual machinations during their yoga routines.
