I agree with your second thought on the bathroom mirror. With it being centered that way my eye immediately thinks it's too low. Overall the bathroom looks amazing.
When drilling holes into curbs and shower walls always inject some clear silicone sealant into hole and into plug before screwing into place. You will be surprised how many curb failures I have seen due to water getting in over time through screw fixings
For the curb, the better solution is simply not to drill it at all, and to use a different attachment method. Or perhaps in a pinch, to drill it no more than half the thickness of the cap.
@@maths9085 Indeed, I always specify screens and doors that do not require drillling into the curb but we all know how other people don’t always pay attention lol
For the shower head arm get whatever rubberized grip channel locks you have, stick the grip inside the arm get it tight and straight, then put shower head in
For screwing pipe fittings in and getting them in the right spot, use a teflon tape and liquid PTFE to ensure a seal without having to wrench on the fittings so hard.
Didn't one of the Perkins brother suggest using the handle of your pliers in the shower pipe and use them a lever to make the last little bit of the shower stem tight? May have just made that up.
For the shower necks, get an inch length of hose that fits over the neck and cut a vertical slit in it. Then you can wrap it around the shower neck, and grip your pliers around it. Rubber gives good grip but then you won't mar is with the pliers
Find a length of round bar stock that fits snugly(ish) inside the shower neck and use it to extend your leverage. Obviously be careful as you can end up bending the shower neck if you use too much torque!
I just remodeled my bathroom and went through many of the issues you have been describing, including the time issue. I got a good laugh out of the tile drilling fear...I think it's shared by everyone but it's next level when you prep, cut, install, and grout the tile yourself.

Great job, love the series! You can also purchase a fairly cheap boa constrictor snake wrench, which are specifically designed for that.
I'm in the midst of a really similar bathroom reno -- doing the same geberit carrier with a toto wall hung toilet -- I have it installed temporarily right now and I'm really impressed with the geberit system. But that duravit looks great. I ALSO have a friggin window in the shower... after watching your solution, I'm thinking I might just frame it in LOL I have to re-side the house anyways. Impressive finished product!
I'm really sorry to say, but you haven't installed a bathroom, it's a work of art!! OK, it's a work of art that functions as a bathroom but you get my point. The work you put into this is truly amazing and I can see why it's taken 3 months. I'm guessing this isn't normally the first one that a new plumber/bathroom builder is asked to put together as it has some very, very tricky things to put together. The finished result is awesome and I especially like that sliding shower door, closely followed by the toilet. Definitely a job well done 👍👍👍👍👍
I use rubber strap wrench to install stuff like that without scratching. It grabs the pipe with friction from the rubber and gives you leverage to turn but won't scratch. There's a limit of how much torque one can apply before it slips but usually it's enough for a good seal.
Looks amazing. The bathroom mirror should however be above the tap or it will look strange so you should definitely move it up a bit. I would even have put it as close to the lights as possible but I'm also almost 6'9" tall so I would have wanted it as high as possible. I would also have put the toilet-paper holder on the side of the vanity since it will be awkward to reach behind yourself to reach for the paper.

This bathroom was mega-expensive for sure. All of the tile supplies, vanity, etc., but I think it'll be worth it in the long run considering I probably saved the same amount by doing the work myself instead of hiring it out!
I put the handle to my pump pliers inside the shower arm. They kind of lock in place but make it so you can get it tight enough. Could also use a strap wrench.
