RCM does have superior security features on the silver maple. The US Mint needs to do more than just a reed notch on their Eagles.

Intaglio Mint called. They're good LOL. Kings of Quality Control in my humble opinion. The British Royal Mint, South African Mint, and Austrian Mint sure could use the MintShield technology though. The number of instances of milk spotting on their bullion offerings is unacceptable.

I am a former employee of a "sister" Canadian Crown Corporation (meaning a company owned by the Canadian government) and I can assure you that the "profit" mandate is very real. Profits are #1 and client service is #2. These guys are VERY well managed - they know how to run their business.

I sure hope the Director of the US Mint watches this interview. I HATE that our American mint needs to learn a lot from our neighbors to the north! 🤦🏼♂️
Buffalos are great coins but the QC is poor and there are no security features. How can the US mint be so off when it comes to security?
Last year I took a tour of the US Mint in Philadelphia. It was interesting and informative. However, unlike the RCM the US Mint has NO profit motivation. Their only customer for circulation coins is the US Federal Reserve where the coins are sold at face value. The US Mint then transfers back all the money collected over it's "costs" to the US Treasury. Many of the decisions made by the US Mint require an official law through Congress. Will the US Mint ever reach the level of innovation as the RCM? I doubt it.

I love the RCM. The only suggestions I'd make is to learn from what the Perth Mint does well. More 10 oz and kilo silver coins. You have great wildlife, do an annual bullion gold and silver series on any of the following: Wolf, Mountain Lion, Canadian Goose,Grizzly Bear, Narwhal, Beluga. People would buy it like they buy the Perth series.
A 100 kilo five-9s fine gold bar?! I'm going to have to grab myself a couple of those! 😂

Very nice Q&A. Personally my favorite bullion is the Maple. Competitively, in my humble opinion, the Quality, accessibility, Security and overall Great Looking coins. ASE has a wYs to go to even compete on my mind.

The Canadian Maples is a terrific coin. The collectibles are an overpriced sham.
I wouldn’t call their collectibles a “sham” but definitely NOT a stacking target! Maybe for a special gift or treat to celebrate a stacking milestone, but IMO not when stacking for long term wealth-protection.
The collectables market is far from a sham as collectibles is entirely different market and reason why people buy vs Bullion.
Stacker for example will not understand a buyer paying 25,000 for a 1793 chain cent
@tennesseecoinco I agree. Something from 200 years ago commands a legitimate collector premium. Something made last week and marketed to collectors is a different story.

Can anyone tell me how many silver Canadian 2020 eagle coins were minted in the 1.5 ounce weight? I can not get an answer from the RCM , and I can not find it online. Thanks!
I strongly urge you to get some theological economists on to discuss Biblical prescriptions for monetary systems, markets, division of labor, savings, investments, and Scriptural admonitions regarding children's inheritance. It's a broad subject with lots of real world applications. Gold and silver are God's money. Everything else is debt.
