Right now they're only offering $170 of trade-in value for a z flip 3. You could sell it for a lot more than that. So those elevated trade-in deals only applied if you happen to live in North America and buy the phone at launch before you've seen a solitary review or even first person anecdote from a customer.
I think a better selling point would not be that there are zero compromises since there are huge compromises. It scratches at a level two with deeper grooves at a level 3. The better selling point is that it's a unique and fun product and you have the rest of your life to buy something more traditional. And that you can buy the phone for $0.40 on the dollar on Swappa.

For me the main drawback is still the very tall aspect ratio, I don't multitask on my phone and I find it very uncomfortable... to the point I avoid anything above 6/6.1"... and because of this the size in the pocket is not an issue either, since the phones that I use as short enough that they fit in all my pockets. As I have sais already, I could definitely see the point of a Z Fold but even then I would much prefer something like the Oppo Find N2 or the rumored Pixel Fold which has a similar aspect ratio...

I understand. I'd love to see a Galaxy Fold style device that was easier to use in one hand, we'll see what shows up this year

After 5 months my screen protector by the right crease has shown some bubbles. Samsung will replace the protector next week. Other than that it has been great.

You're not really arguing that there aren't compromises you're just explaining why the compromises don't bother you that much. For instance, when you say the crease is no big deal because the iPhones have big notches? Well, I don't use an iPhone either
And as far as pricing... Not everyone lives in the United States or Canada which is where the vast majority of those trade-in deals that Samsung offered were available. No one in Europe got offered the sweetheart deals .. no one in Asia got offered those sweetheart deal .. Samsung has an issue with Apple's market share domination in the United States and has effectively subsidized the trade-in deals in this market only .
What's more: not every human being has a recent Samsung to trade in. If someone is coming from a Note 9 or.poxel 4a trade in values Samsung offered was really no better than what you could sell the phones for. And you still need to have the cash up front because the trade-in deals come after the fact.
And people still sometimes forget the deduct the value of the phone they're trading in. You are still giving up the phone, which you paid for . Trading in a phone for 500 bucks doesn't mean you only paid $500. You're paying 500 plus AND losing out on the current phone and some of its unique features -- not to mention losing out on the opportunity cost to sell it or to gift it to somebody or to use it as a backup device.
And if you trade in a phone like note 9 or S10 plus you're losing out Dex, USB 3.0 video output,SD card, charger in the box, a QHD screen MST, a headphone jack and an iris scanner depending on the variant. Is your trading in a Note 20 ultra you lose the s pen,, 45 w fast charging, Dex.
I think it's fine if people want to own a flip, hell. You can wait and get these things on the resale market for $0.50 on the dollar right now. But I think you are overselling the premise.

Really quick on the trade in part and I can address the other stuff later:
I purchased the last generation Z Flip for $300 on ebay, the day preorders came out. Samsung gave me $900 of trade in value. So yes, I only paid $500.
