Tom struggled with addiction in his past, had a mental breakdown from it and at that time decided that he wanted to make music that woke people up, helped people through hard times, and uplift so he he is super versatile with his music. Tom actually aligns pretty close to what you were speaking about believe what you want buy don't push it on other people. Most HOG family feels the same. Toms about unity of people even through our differences. He "controversial" tracks are really just common sense truth that people don't want to hear. Dr. Jordan Peterson actually did a breakdown of this song which was awesome, Tom's a fan of Peterson as well. Toms an epitome of don't judge a book by the cover honestly

It’s cause he wasn’t using headphones or earbuds, so his microphone was picking up the video’s audio
