      Scott Travis Hello Scott! I'm drumming for 40 years now. I want (need) to tell you that the "Painkiller" intro as been a shock and a very "food for mind" moment for me as a double bass drummer. Thanks a lot for that! Big up to you from France. 👍🏻🤟🏻🖖🏻🇫🇷 (And yes i know how to play it...) 🤪 Philty...

    Solid as hell, man! It was interesting to me, as I generally open up the choruses on the ride cymbal… I never knew one way or another exactly how it was played on the studio album. So I thought it was interesting that you stayed on the hats pretty much the whole time. Then I was looking for a ride cymbal and I actually didn’t even see one! I thought maybe it was one of those things where for whatever reason you don’t use a ride cym.? Or maybe I just couldn’t see it? I just thought that was also very interesting. It made me recall how Keith moon, at least early on didn’t use hats. Just had a cymbal where the hats usually go. Anyway man, I was just curious. Thanks for bringing the bad ass rock!! Especially ripping it so hard at our age! Safe travels!

    Interesting. Metal Gods was the 2nd song in the set. Notice at the very beginning of the video (last note of Rapid Fire) he sets his floor tom back up (it was leaning forward) And at this time he realizes the drum riser is not level - the whole kit is tilting forward. Watch how he is looking around for people... no one there. After the song is over "the whole riser is tilting." Whoever he tells it to pretty much says there is nothing they can do... and he shrugs like 'yeah, I know.' But what'cha gonna do? The show goes on. Little things like that can really get in your head for the whole gig.

    • @oz_medias
      @oz_medias 3 года назад

      I prefer how Holland doesn't play the hat on 3, it's a more punctuated and musical beat. That said, touring is a LOT different than playing a festival. I find Travis simplifies it for longevity and stamina when playing an endless line of shows night after night, many vocalists and guitars do it too.
      When you are talking about bands of this caliber, or even Ozzy and Alice with their 'hired gun' touring bands, there really isn't a comparison between musicians.
      The A list is the A list for a reason. There is a small pool of musicians that are THIS good, which is why they circulate between all the great bands, they are simply the best of the best.

    I played drums in Cover Band, we play a couple of different Judas Priest songs. This song has the most boring drum track I’ve ever heard in any Judas Priest song ever. Why in gods name anyone would use this video as a drum cam video makes absolutely no sense. Anyone in his comments kissing ass as if this was some sort of high-quality drum performance should just go to bed because I could’ve performed this when I was like a child and done this song perfectly decent. It is no way an example of high-quality drumming, there’s no difficult parts in it anywhere. It’s an open high hat roll for five minutes straight. What’s wrong with you people?

Along within Tama/Pa sound quality is stellar" he is also an excellent teacher, explains very well throughout beginner-intermediate-very advanced progressions. Lays a balanced foundation for the front runners to work with.

    I don’t doubt that this man is an amazing drummer, but this really isn’t a good track to showcase those skills.

    I was there! Awesome concert! Thin lizzy and black label society opened up! I remember rob telling the crowd about the many hits he and other bands wrote at the famed recording studio in Miami during the 70’s and 80’s............can’t remember the name though.
