It's a Great looking truck. I just acquired a 1990 extended cab Duallie with 454ci, 59,900 miles, T400 auto, 4x4, AC IN GREAT shape. This truck your selling is a Diamond in the Ruff. Love the looks of it and the head liner console is very Cool. I'm sorry you have to sell it. I'll bet you are having a hard time with that too!!
@@voilaxy4783 That is where it was going, but bought a diesel van instead. The swap with the 4L80E would have backed up a cummings if I finished up the project.
Is that a Wrangler conversion I have an 89 R 3500 Wrangler conversion done in Shelbyville Illinois the only difference is mine's red and gray bronze and charcoal but it looks exactly the same paint lines and interior
I know this is an old video, but I was wondering if you could tell me how it ran after the swap? I'm getting ready to do the same thing to my 89 R3500. I'm mostly doing it for the extra gear for better MPG and stress on the 454 on long hauls. Do you remember how much this bumped up your mpg and around what rpm at 70mph you were getting? Thanks if you read this and resond. Bob.
It would have been fine if I wasn't putting a lot of time on the road. That is why I sold it. There is no pulling comparison to a BB gasser and a diesel. If you are pulling a lot and for distance, do yourself a favor and go diesel. This truck was going to be swapped with a cummings, but didn't get that far. The cummings with the 4L80E conversion would have made it killer. Sorry for the late response. Good luck!
There is a module that you have to plug in and use for the conversion. It's pretty pricey. I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was over a grand just for the module. It worked great though. The 454 just didn't have the power I needed for pulling, plus I needed a sleeper. However, if it was a built 454, it would have been fine. This year truck, the 454 was a pooch for power, and a diesel was a better option for me. The truck was getting set up for a cummings swap, but I sold it before that happened. It is/was a bad ass truck.
Love clean older rides I’ll buy this over any new stuff
Not too many of the old ones left
