I'm not kidding here, I just played pokemon pinball recently (I own the Japanese version btw) and playing the red table, which I agree is the hardest table...and I became number 1 on the high score board with 513,003,650!!! I couldn't believe I made it that far myself!! lol
Doing things in a set order to start modes and multiballs and stuff to get way higher point values is how you play real pinball as well. Just hitting anything randomly isnt gonna get you far, and the way pokemon pinball is layed out with its rulesets, its actually one of the best original virtual pinball games ive seen. The main thing that doesnt translate as well is the physics since the ball doesnt have much bounce to it so you cant do things like dead flipping that you would do all the time on a real table to slow the ball down and get control. Tho pokemon pinball is a bit slower moving as well and the lack of bounce lets you just hold the flipper up and let the ball fall into it without it bouncing out so you dont even have to worry about drop catching or live catching since it just kinda cradles itself.
I hit 1.2 billion on red and got to the mew two stage but couldn’t beat him. Traveling to new locations is key to getting all Pokémon, but by that point I’ve lost a life or two to fast bounces into the gutter without pikachu charged. The double pikachu and mastering tilt functions is key to surviving a long time.
Thanks for your comment on my residents video. Had to be done on Google Voice rather than the usual platform. I'll see what I can do to spruce up the audio; then, could you tell me if it sucks less? -- Lawrence
I remember playing this to over 1 billion, getting mad at something the mechanics did, and smacking my GBC, causing a reset. I crawled under my bed and cried. The game changed my life.
I have been playing this game sinds it came out, I always take the gameboy color with me when i go on vacation, love sitting by the pool playing the crap out of this game. I have almost completed the pokedex missing just 5 pokemon. On Red i have 9,899,592,400 On Blue 28,420,370,500 You never want to defeat mewtwo. He gives you the most points about a billion each time.
I bought a physical copy of Pokémon pinball for my game boy color couple of weeks ago and boy let me tell you, it’s hard to catch them but fun to play!
My gf and I have been taking turns playing Pokemon Pinball for like 4 days and we've caught 46 mons amd the catches/evolutions are already slowing down a lot. This game is brutal lol.
pikatchu gets "recharged" on the blue table by going around the bord specifically when the ball spins the little yellow paddle on the right side and he can save the ball again when the thunder bolt icon is fully filled on the left side on the pinball table hope that helps it works the same on the red table but i used the blue table to explain with an example
Tenho o jogo no meu Anbernic rg35xx, capturei o Charmander e o evolui para Charizard. Lembro onde estava... Viajando para Florianópolis SC( Brasil). Foi inesquecível a evolução, e vê-lo em minha Pokedex me tras a memória

Just got 809,990,550 on sapphire table and caught raqunaza on my phone emulator. This game is so fun so great as a phone game
How in the hell isn't this on the switch
the Ruby Sapphire Pinball game is really polished, I've played it for 50 hours now.

“Two guys who have never played a real pinball table criticize a game they fundamentally can not understand”

@@ThePsychicPlumage guess we'll see
A real table is far less frustrating.
I cant imagine a speedrun getting all Pokemon in this game

That 3d pinball comment brought me way back.

Great video, Conor forgetting his catchphrase 😂
Fun fact the Blue table's catch theme is a chip tune remix of the Japanese Pokemon anime.
It’s all explained in the manual that came with the game 😅
I could figure out the game quite easily as a kid.
This is really cool, would love to see a follow-up for the GBA sequel!
I enjoyed this video VERY much! Playing through PP right now and this video was a godsend.
Wow I loved this game back in the time... i want to play it again so bad
Just bought this game at a yard sale and it had bite marks on it, is it really THAT infuriating? 😭
I mean you can shake the table to save the Pokeball 😅

cool video, the game is pretty fun. very rage inducting at times. great to pick up here & there
I still have my manual.
I'm fairly certain I used to play this and it infuriating me lol
I'm so extremely bad at this game. I'm lucky if I get above 50 million point....or even catch a Pokemon with my 3 try
would love to watch whole video but has to stop after 2 minutes cause i cant stand that gameplay xdd
